Hey guys, sorry for pinning this comment on all videos but I want to give you an update on the channel. I've been slowly adding a show archive to the videos including a full transcript added as sub titles and a full track listing (with links to RUclips videos for each track). Pilkipedia archive link has been added as well and I've been having fun illustrating some of KP's best bits, I'm adding these to a shop incase anyone is interested: www.man-moth.com/ It's taking me a while to update the archives, especially as I don't work Mondays so please bear with me as I chip away at it. Lots of love, Man Moth.
Thanks moth man moth
god's work!
Appreciate you 🙏
Thank you very much for uploading all these. It is very much appreciated.
Anxiety is really kicking my arse right now. I've been listening to these for years and they always help and give me a boost. But I'd just like to tip my hat to the RUclips community of Xfm, you're all amazing and your comments have me cracking up! Sending positive vibes :)
Keep on keeping on. x
Right with you 💗
Have dealt with dreadful anxiety in my time and these were a genuine tonic, better than the anti depressants they had me on.
I hope things get better for you and you can continue to enjoy these with a lighter mind!
Stay strong my friend..stay strong..we all go through it. Just need to feel alright...keep listening on.
These are perfect for getting out of your own head.
52:55 - "What you doin'?" "I'm just taking my trousers down and standing in front of the window." "Why? "Because theres a naked woman across the road what do you THINK I'M DOING SUZANNE? I'M EXPOSING MYSELF WHILE LOOKING AT SOME FREE FANNY! WHATS UP WITH YOU SUZANNE?!"
Lmfaoooo 😂😂😂
I like when Ricky tries to explain things that he has zero understanding off and just mumbles out a few words knowing that Karl will not test him on it
Sooo true hahaha
it’s genuinely so embarrassing. and then he’ll act like karl’s an idiot for not understanding what he’s just stuttered out
Obviously agree but a short case for the defense
a. Ricky always talks like that
b. How would you explain Einstein's theory?
c. As Steve points out, this is a fun radio show, not an hour in a classroom.
d. How to explain anything to Karl???
@@oscarslater6123 well Karl is an idiot lol
@@treehousekohtao All 3 people have their character flaws but still so listenable. Steve's sheltered snobbishness ("how can a homeless person be reading a book", as though only the illiterate go broke), Ricky's crude, limited scientism without the accompanying knowledge, and Karl's magical thinking. But both have perfectly redeeming features.
"I don't think our fans hoover"
me in 2021 looking around my room .. he's got a point
But do you drink milk from a saucer?
It is tiring doing the housework when you work as a little hairy removal man like I do
I've listened to mp3s of these radio shows for years, and am on my first RUclips run through of them all. The comments are fantastic, and great when you find someone who picked up on something that you also noticed in certain episodes!
31:50 - I've been listening to these for years and never noticed Steve choke on his drink from laughing before!
Great spot - I hadn’t ever noticed that either!😂😂👍🏻
I hadn't noticed until the comment section 🤣
I've recently got a terribly dull summerjob, where I do nothing but recurse Excel files in some Word-like programme. You are a life-saver, I would never survive this without this.
Jacco R. same here! :)
Hahaha.. i think im the only contacter in australia who works on site's and has earphones plugged in listening to these maniacs
Jacco R. Cheers from South Korea. I'm an English teacher here. I listen to these in between classes! lol.
Work as a game developer, listen to these while I work.. so many late nights and I would go insane without this drivel/genius haha!
Some people do that for a living, all day every day. Think of that.
Karl re. "Are you sure you're not a bender?"
"it was the right time to ask"
This is one of Karls greatest momemts in the whole show: its all brilliant dribble, he even tried to tackle Einstein's relativity on air... then, all that build up, he hits us with, honestly one of the funniest window watching stories ever, just off the cuff without even trying. The man has a magic to him, comedy just finds him.
Drivel*
I love the fact that you can hear Steve spit his drink out laughing at 31:49
Good catch!
7:35
"Aww I dunno where it is, come on in, lets 'ave a wrestle!"
one of my all time favourite lines...along with "mr Garribaldi!"
I'm exposing myself while looking at some free FANNY! WHAT'S UP WITH YOU SUZANNE?!?!
Leave it, leave it, leave it, leave it leave then...
The part I rewind the most, kills me everytime 😂
"Do you know what I love? The bloody font! I looove the bloody font!"
I think it's too cheap
I will never understand Karl deliberately dropping his boxers when eyeing the naked woman across from his flat. Hands down one of the weirdest things he's ever said/done.
What did he say again, Ive had some for free so im giving her something.😂😂
@@bazglsgw1208 it boggles my mind. He literally dropped his pants and put his arse up on the worktop so she could see! Something to do with “now she’s seen a bit of me, we’re even”. Mental.
I actually get it but it’s too hard to explain 😂, it’s stupid nonetheless
Im tryna get some FREE FANNY. WATSUPWITHYUU SUSAN🤪
Yeah it's almost as if Karl is a bit of an idiot!
"Her name's not Kolly!!!" Started laughing out loud in the bus, there. Love how these podcasts always make me look like a crazy person.
You have a funny face
Wicked same with me laughing on the bus like a mentalist
@@davidstirrat8815 ha. same. At least when you're on the bus, it's somewhat expected. Sometimes I cycle along laughing out loud.
Several times in the office I had to pause the videos, rather than suffocating trying to hold my laughter in.
I just realized that the two Karl Pilkington moments that are for me his most iconic and memorable come in the first and last episodes of Series 2: Man Moths, and Nudity at the Window respectively.
I love how Ricky phones Karl to get him to come to his house. Then it ends with them having a wrestle like two school kids hahaha
😂💀can’t believe Ricky is 60 now…
@@LilNewtGingrich why do you not know how times works?
@@MrOasis316 brain broke
49:30 "the last flat that I lived in I had a good view across the road and I could see the hairy....well not the hairy Chinese kid, he was just a Chinese kid actually".... lmao
Hairy ones are rare
'Airy.
Recently had surgery and have been holed up in my bedroom for a few weeks and these shows provide so much joy. They are brilliant! Cheers +Man Moth
This is the most legendary episode. Season 2 ends on a bombshell with Karl's Rear Window anecdote, for me the most classic moment in all these shows. Ricky and Steve's reaction to it is priceless, even more so than the horse in the house one.
Eric Buist
You mean "orse in ouse" 🙂
I agree.
“Ooh there’s a tough stain on this glass” hahahaa
"What 'ave I done? I've dropped a pizza off?"
xD!! Genius.
Daisy Chambers It's not the tip I wanted!!!
The image of Nero sitting about in a Jacuzzi ordering pizzas is priceless
Daisy Chambers You'd have been slurping and going mental
There'd be bubbles, there'd be flot, it would be awful.
Of the countless times ive listened to these 3, i think this is my favoutite show. They establish their flow, their harmony. This show is tight (as far as dribble goes); includes dribble in first half, quality satire, and a beautiful story from karl.
No arguments, no negativity, just some friends chatting.
I find the episodes later on in the season more polished but I feel Karl’s mood deteriorates through them like he seems to have a good time less and less as they go on
*drivel
Happy Thanksgiving community. I'm thankful for these three doing radio, and that there are other people that enjoy them as well.
4:01 Karl says “It’s well over the recommended daily annoyance”😂😂😂
53:51 “Get some more friends, they’ve gone one more” is one of my favourite underrated lines in the XFM era. 😂
39:32 The K man. Little pilky. Baldy pilky little whingy dimmo manco. Dimmus Mancoid. haha
my fave was always Karly Pilkboys ;)
BOPPITY BOO WHOS THAT OVER THERE? IT'S KARLY PILKBOYS.
lil' bald headed mancy lil' twat
Steve’s comment “or the plot of a film on Channel 5” goes completely unnoticed but might be the best line of the whole episode
53:06 I'm exposing myself while looking at some free fanny! What's up with you Suzanne?!?! Dying.
The ad was a hip-hop song called Freak of the Week.
15:35 I love how Karl is just talking about sex education at school, but can't admit to watching it for fear of Rick and Steve taking the piss, so immediately is like "well I wasn't really watching it" 😅
"Yeah but all she could see of you was your bald head..."
"... And your hands moving as you were washing up"
"IT'S MEEEEEEE" don't know why but I lost it at this
51:40 love Steve’s reaction “what? What’re you taking about? What’re you talking about?! WHAT’RE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!?”
It’s when he yells “KARL” for me
For me, it sounds a bit phoney, because Karl already told that story on a previous show, so Steve actually knew what Karl was talking about.
58:05 one of my favourite iterations of the Monkey News jingle. The depth of voice that Ricky uses when delivering the line is really satisfying. Further garnished by the ever welcome "ya ffff".
just love Rickys reaction to Karls underpants story "looking at some free fanny"🤣🤣🤣
Ricky should just admit he doesn't fully understand relativity either... Just tries to explain it and makes no sense.
He does it a lot
He's just bad at explaining stuff. Whenever he tries, he starts mumbling and not finishing sentences... more than normal, anyway.
Almost like he’s a professional comedian and writer and not a physicist
@@Ranger1812 that tends to happen when you don't fully understand things.
Ricky has a very "tabloid" view of science in general. Doesn't know half as much as he thinks he does.
Ben Tarr no, he just doesn’t understand it. He does fine when he explains atomic, simple facts about e.g. animals, but whenever he tries to explain something more complex it’s a disaster (relativity, determinism, how an X-ray machine works, the monkey thought experiment, etc.) He’s the typical smug ‘I Fucking Love Science’ guy who in fact only really has a superficial understanding of the subject.
Ricky: Her name's not cauli.
karl: Doesn't matter.
😂
Kelly Osbourne is a fuckin vegetable.
FACT
“You’ve got to… you’ve got to rainbow something” is one of my all time favourite Ricky lines. 😆
I love how Karl announce that the Telegraph is listening, 3/4 into the episode, and the reactions that follows.
Didn't Auntie Dooweeyan break Nora's record, farting for a near 8 minutes?
Title of this ep should be "Quick Suzanne, get 'em out!"
jcrawley1 I agree :-)
+jcrawley1 Why?
+jcrawley1 It did indeed become what you thought.
Yeah why?
Yeah why?
Second lap of these episodes and I’m still perplexed by Karl’s pants-down anecdote! Easily the most insane thing he’s ever said!
3rd lap for me in 6 years so only dabble.
When I think of how podcasting started, it was this radio station. 3 blokes shooting the shit in a studio like no one was listening.
Outlandish history, if you think about it. Sounds like one of Karl’s accounts. Two famous fellas from the telly and a slow-witted Mancunian invented the podcast on accident, right?
Oz born....Colly...HER NAMES NOT COLLY!
The story starting at 49:26 is one of the best ever Karl stories
"You'd have nibbled his packet"😂
😂 Every time I get to this episode, that line kills me 😂
It’s in the delivery
“You’d... have... NIBBLED.. HIS.. PACKET, Karl”
Man Moth you beautiful creature.
6:10 little karl pilkingTOD
In case anyone is wondering what word Karl mentioned at 42:30, it's "antediluvian"
vrisvrikkie just say old
It doesn't technically mean old though.. Antediluvian relates to anything that happened before the great flood, as in the bible Noah flood.. Love Karl, just say old ha :)
@@bradymurphy1045 technically it does.
@@deanrobinson2459 fair one
In all the years I've listened to these shows, I've NEVER EVER heard anyone in life mention or use the phrase 'Hundreth Monkey' !
The 'new' Elton John track that Ricky was dancing around in his pants to was 'Are You Ready For Love?' Karl was correct, it was the right time to ask.
31:18 Steve and Karl talk at the same time. Steve knows never to interrupt Karl because you just don’t know what mental theory is going to come next. ‘After you...’
Steve knows not to interrupt the man who comes out with the funniest stuff
"Some Free Fanny!!" 😂😂😂
Reaver Bowerstone

MC
That bit killed me, burst out laughing in work 😂😋😂
"HER NAME'S NOT COLLIE!!!"
Kills me that one, every time lol
‘Pilkingtod’ tickled me more than it should have 💀
Everything they ever said bad about the XFM listeners now apply to only our little community lol
As far as a layman goes, ricky does well enough in summarising one of most complicated theories we as humans have.
It was a ceap explanation of relativity. Karl wouldn't have understood it anyway, but rick just asserted a few related words without summarising it whatsoeber
BAUHAUS IS WORKING!
I love Karl trying to pronounce 'antediluvian' 😂
Man moth you're a legend.
Karl. I can't wait till 3 o clock.
Peepington.
End of season 2? mad init...
That fade out at 11:20 is perfect gets me every time xD
"someone set fire to some magnesium" lol
That's not the sort of tip I wanted
How Ricky says "little baldy Manc twat" gets me everytime 😂
Adam and Joe were replacing them after this episode. Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish? If so then XFM must of been like a comedians proving ground back in the day. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost also had a show on here, so did Russell Brand.
23:20 Ricky laughing and sneering at Karl, 'Give Directly' is now one of the biggest and most effective charity initiatives in the world.
"cheap, smutty, low brow listenership"
^ All of the above baby.
Rory Stead I LAUGHED when he said that the executives and the listeners were sex offenders! lol. HOW did Ricky keep this show? lol
How many "last shows" have these guys done
About as many as the last time they did Rockbusters
don't even bother cashing those xfm cheques.
Thank you Man Moth
"telegraph are listening" is a great bit
"what do you think im doing Susan... Im exposing myself, whilst looking at some free Fanny!" 😂
Let's have a record and then some absolute *shite* from Karl Pilkington.
Excellent! Look forward to that!
I cringe when Ricky try's to explain something quite big. He just uses phrases he's heard from scientists and researchers on documentarys without actually explaining it himself.
Karl does a good job of pointing out what Ricky doesn’t know
I'd love to hear a supercut of all them!
Sometimes he gets it right, sometimes he doesnt. He cant be a genius all the time.
I love the bloody font! always cracks me up 43:25
"Undreth"
The sly way Karl brings up the fact that the Telegraph is listening makes me think that he’s trying to get some kind of revenge on Smerch and Gerve.
Why does Steve never mention that he'd been a contestant on Blockbusters?
mike20070 he does
Na he doesn't ever mention this. I find it really strange he never says. Like the very first Rockbusters Karl asks Ricky and Steve if they've ever heard of blockbusters. Steve just says yeah he's heard of it but doesn't ever mention he was on the show. I've heard that celebrities get picked very early on to be famous, but they get 'tested' out on smaller shows to see how they get on. If you don't conform they drop you. Steve is clearly happy being part of the system and doesn't want to give the game away.. Pepijn, you said he does. When was this? :)
Brady Murphy lemme get my tin foil hat
@@conormurphy4328 You can wear a tin foil hat if you like but with the invention of 5G internet being emitted at a much higher frequency, the shorter wave lengths pass right through aluminium so wearing a tin foil is now pointless! Our technology has unfortunately almost made a tin foil hat redundant. Before you say, yes I know you're completely taking the piss. Anyways.. back to more relevant issues like Steve not mentioning Rockbusters!!!
Brady Murphy lemme get my faraday cage
"I wouldn't want to be him right about now" 🤣
this definitely is a prescription cure for broken heart or soul
Amen
It’s a good show but let’s not get carried away. Let’s keep some perspective on things.
Little Karl Pilkingtod
Little Baldy Manc...... twit.
Little karly pilk boys. K man pilkers
Baba di boo, it's Karly Pilkboy.
1:00:54 Apparently he's a holder of PhD of Physics 😂😂😂
If i ever go to Afrika and I need a hammer, and there isent one...I will be livid! 😂😂😂😂 what!? No hammer!? No but can i have a sandwich? NO YOUR NOT HAVING ANOTHER SANDWICH! 😂
"Johnny's comin' down but uhhh ... Les isn't gonna make it."
"What we doin' tonight?"
"We're gonna get drunk and sleep in a doorway."
"We did that last night."
I like Steve and Ricky trying to act like they understand Special Relativity.
I done me job. that’s not the sort of tip I wanted 😂😂😂😂
“You’re such an idiot, Karl.”
“As are you, Gina.”
51:38 "you looking at- looking at my fanny?" I love the way Rick says that
Peekington! :D Hahahahahahahaha
Peepington*
best bit of the episode by a mile. had me in stitches!
Put the subtitles on so funny!
re. 18:15 when Ricky mentions the tramps' corner, I have a tape of Xfm Claire's show where Ricky is producing(?) and he does a bit about tramps saying there was a transvestite tramp asking for "50p for a leg wax" does anyone remember? It was just before Xfm got sold to Capital. I used to record the (old) ricky show all the time but I went over all the tapes :(
Kimberley-Tybee Golding-Tomter Haha, I don't but it sounds lush! It's a gutter we don't have those recordings anymore, would be so good to hear them.
Do you still have the tapes? switching them to digital would be great.
***** To me when they wrote "went over", I thought they ment "listened to", not "recorded over", thanks for cleaning that up, just another miscommunication between the types of english.
+WollongongWacko yes all I have left is like one link of Claire's show when Ricky is doing a bit on there. Love how Ricky fans are so polite to each other! Before capital bought xfm it was really messy, the DJs played whatever they wanted, and Ricky and Steve's show (no Karl) was full of swearing and puerile humour. Totally up my street as a 14 year old!!
Anyone heard that board game idea they had called "Tip the balance"?
Antediluvian! Used to describe ancient things. VAMPIRE the masquerade uses as the name of the 1st/2nd generation vampire elders. very obscure word Karl nice
"I love the bloody font!"
4:48 I've been listening to these shows for years and theres a few episodes where ricky is talking over karl and you cant really hear what he's saying, but just worked out what that was
"well over the...recommended...daily...annoyance"
'It's like playing Getaway on video'
Karl is talking about the word 'Antediluvian', A word meaning the period before the biblical flood, which got adapted to mean 'really old'.
I love how it’s allegedly the last episode and Karl is supposedly all fed up but he goes on the longest ramble of drivel maybe in the entire series around 35:00
