"I wouldn't have answered a letter from someone named Babushka" - might be one of the funniest lines ever uttered and he throws it away like nothing.
It's that slight bit more funny coming from the former USSR knowing Babushka means grandmother
He's right, I wouldn't accept a flirty letter from someone calling themselves grandma either.
This is my favourite episode, I love hearing about the golf trip...I can really visualise it. I've been listening to these since 2006..............starting to get a bit sad when I listen now because of how long ago they were. I was 16 having the best summer of my life when Series 4 aired........I can't imagine a hangover day where I don't lay in bed all day being comforted by these shows
TheCamorra2011 podcasts mean so many different things to so many different people. Incredible invention
1990 crew right here.
I'm 17 so I'm about the age you were during the summer you enjoyed. What was so great about the summer? I seen your comment and now I'm really intrigued lol.
@@coreymesham-pritchard1988 A lot of things really and it's gonna sound lame as fuck now when I type it out but.. we still had the group of 20-30 friends that you'd hang out with every day just down the park playing football or camping and drinking. Girls were always around and seemed to suddenly find me attractive and my confidence grew - first girlfriend and first heartbreak. A few pubs and bars were known for serving underage people so every Friday it was like a youth club only with beer and that was a LOT of fun. There were some boring days just sat at home on the computer on MSN messenger / Myspace all day but for the most part it was just a lot of fun. It was also still that early 2000s "Jackass" period where it was socially acceptable to be out in public doing silly shit with your pals. Basically to sum it up - lots of friends, lots of girls, going out and having fun with no responsibilities - and no smartphones or social media with people broadcasting everything. I think it's only years later when your life has changed you realise how special that time was. Sorry for the long essay here....how was your summer as a 16 year old?
@@TheCamorra2011 thank you for simultaneously making me smile about similar memories, and making me depressed that life in comparison now sucks
The wit of Merchant is very underrated.
Agreed.
well he wrote 90% of the office in general opinion so how can he been underrated?
@@xarmy5669 because he is underrated..Gervais became a much bigger icon than him
I rate it.
@@louieashwood640 but do you rate it under?
I love the 10 second pause from Rick after Karl gets “Lay in, no rich tea” and he goes... “I cannot believe you got it. I can not believe he got it.”
Petition for this episode to be called "Smugglin Seaweed"
Lying in no Rich Tea.
It’s been almost 20 years and I still can’t believe he got it.
He is a genius.
Or "Sausages in the Toaster."
Was thinking the same thing. Classic line
'Kate Bush & a fat German'.
I love seeing the xfm community continuing to grow and grow.
I am wondering if anyone also listens to Russell Brand and Karl on Russell's 6 music channel?
@@SunnyDays00 is it any good?
@@alasdairmacintyre9383 It is good...sort of surprising. Russell Brand is funny .
i’ve lost count of how many times i’ve rewatched these
Steve's impression of the Rockbuster is so good lol.
Around 1:02:00 karl says another proper joke that I've never heard before. Steve is having a go at "ladder 49" saying that no one's ever seen it and karl goes "well they've made 49 of them" or something. Brilliant
+Mina F Isn't that lovely!! Everytime you listen back you hear more and more!!! They always mutter something off mic. It's the best.
+Katbot Totally true
@@KatbotZlike a lowry painting
'You can already get those friendly yogurts, this is just a really friendly one.' HAHHAHAHAAH
I would've loved to have seen Karl and Ricky playing golf
Haha same here. I wonder if Karl got a hole in one after being stung by a bee (that was 'angin' on like a stag beatle)! :o
It would've been An Idiot Abroad-like hilarity
I was laughing my ass off just hearing Ricky talking about it 😆
Imagine. That would be a great show in itself. RSG play the Masters course.
Maybe it’s just me but the Babooshka bit is my favourite of this episode.
“And by the way he’s playing aloooong”
Her name wasn't really Babooshka it was Molly Strank
Paul The Party Animal Parker
-Karl Pilkington- Babooshka
@@alanthe2 with egg stains on it

Thanks very much 'man moth' for taking the time and effort to put these up, you've given lots of people lots of enjoyment including myself, thank you.
I always escape to these shows when I'm not feeling well, thanks Mothy.
"Fish, mermaid, man.."
"Britain's fattest family have shed 23 stone."
"What, one of them died?"
Brilliant.
What part is this at? I can't find it
53:56
Michael Baeza Thank you
That was in poor taste.
dizzymenace still funny
"They already have them friendly yogurts. This is just a REALLY friendly one." Hahaha
Nu Eee friendly to the point where you have to tell it to back off.
Make sure you and the yoghurt both consent first.
it’s similar to a thrust cabinet on a shanty blanket.

Smuggling Seaweed HAHA
R : "Hairy down there was it?"
K : "MENTAL!!!"
...
"You might as well 'ave a look if she's.. puttin' it on show 'n what 'ave ya!"
Yoko Ono. A rockbusters classic
Yolk? Oh, no.
Yolk? Oh... Oh no!
So good. MacFly was great too.
I just noticed that at the end of the last "video", episode 2, one of the rockbuster answers was "Brave Harry", aka The Bravery, which is the band they play at the beginning of this episode.
I’ve just realised McFly could’ve been a clever Rockbuster if Karl had said ‘this burger will take off’.
tbf it’s one of the more clever rockbusters
ban gulls
I’d gladly buy a T-shirt that says “fish, mermaid, man”
"I'm trying to win a fluffy toy" is about as classic as it gets.
lol, Karl guessing the Rockbuster clue instantly is great. 32:25
This is my 3rd go round and I still didn't get it. One of my fav moments.
Lying in no Rich Tea.
'I can't believe you got it...' The genuine wonder in Ricky's voice. 😄
we've only got one listener- so if he's not happy, we're buggered.
Can we say buggered?
Not twice certainly
xfm has become my nightly ritual
Its my bightly bitual too my good mate Badondy! 😘
One of the few things I wished had gone on forever. :'( They would still be amazing 11 years later, I'm sure.
amazing in 2022.
I just LOVE how Ricky and Steve try to guess who the monkey is going to be in Monkey News, trying to tackle Karl on each step like a rugby player who at all costs is trying to reach the goal line. XD
K: So these people are in a restaurant, havin' a lovely meal
R: Is one of them short and hairy, totally covered from top to bottom in a space suit, so they didn't know it was a monkey?
S: Is it one of the costumers? One of the waiters?
K: (...)Can we just say we've had a lovely meal and that..
R: RIght, it's the chef...
That always makes me laugh so hard.
Little hairy fellow? Arms dragging on the ground but only a few feet tall? Clothes don’t quite fit right?
@@BriahnAznable timestamp?
short bloke, hairy, long arms, with a mask on
Well hold on, this fella's only 4 ft tall and his arms are longer than his body
For future reference, it's a 'try' line 😂
yolk? oh...oh no...
oh yolk! no no!
Michele Neri Q
Karl was right.
Bacteria 👾, fish 🐟, Mermaid 🧜♂️, Man 🙋♂️
I know this sounds daft, but sometimes I wish I could go back in time to the days of this show
I sometimes think the same
'she's got a tan' always kills me
I like how the show starts with "An Honest Mistake" by The Brave Harry
“McFly. Don’t want one. Put it back, I’ll have chicken”
"And, by the way, he's playing ALONG!"
It's 2018 and we still don't have chatting yogurts.
2020 and I’m still chatting to activia in Asda with no reply
@!? try speaking French
And it’s 2021 and i’ve not seen hide nor hair of the mammoth. 🤷🏻♀️
We got em boys
Karl’s gift for evocative language is on full display with “Smugglin’ seaweed.”
Always makes me laugh. Genius haha
I always find it amazing that Karl manages to get the Rockbuster that someone emailed in so quickly
That email from suzanne was someting else.. jeez i didnt realise how stupid karl actually is. Those instructions.... man alive
"Midge! Midge! We gotta write another song!!!"
I love how KP got 'Lie No Rich Tea' straight away.
Too quickly! I reckon he emailed it in himself 🤣
It was ever since I put sausages in the toaster...
12:12
“Hello darling, here’s your yogurt!”
“Hhelloooo...”
Suzanne telling Karl how to make dinner... hahah
Opening song by 'Brave Harry.' Follows on perfectly from the last episode, I like to think Karl did that on purpose.
“I wouldn’t have answered a letter from someone called Babushka”.
Genius. Absolute genius.
I sooooo wish I could've been a fly on the wall at Ricky and Karl's golf trip!
I've got into the bad habit of going to sleep with these... I wake up in the morning with them still playing, and my dreams have become psychotic. Not recommended!
That's why you turn off autoplay
i am trying to win de fluffy toy!
I would have titled this episode "Smuggling Seaweed"
'I don't mind no legs as long as the boobs are sizeable.'
Hhahahaha.
Sound logic lol.
You are amazing for uploading these. This is the funniest radio show in the history of humanity! Much love and gratitude! :)
+Fermina Daza You're very welcome!
In the history of the humanity manatee! ^^
They should do it again, season 5, come on!!!
"I'm trying to win a fluffy toy" 40:20 lmfao
Always love Ricky's generic African man accent
@@Pheeze It's so good lol.
'She was a bit hairy down there?'
'Mental...'
Always cracks me up
when Steve does the rockbuster ahahahahha
😂
Very Karl-like.
Karl absolutely takes the piss when he talks about how busy he is all the time! Have another holiday mate!
what an ending by the Smerch!!!
Chris Peters Honestly poor Karl got bodied there
Suzanne telling Karl how to make dinner... jesus
Title could of been smuggling seaweed 😂
Miiidge, write another song MATE; they've blown it down the arcade!
J M Ah am trayin to win a floofay toay - ah think these thing is dojay! x
"The phone's are going! That could be Kate Bush!"
"I know for a fact it isn't" 😂
This is such a strange thing without context, haha.
"Kate Bush & a fat German" .... I literally just burst at that line
"Your 'ed looks a bit eggish"
I love having these shows, I love 'em, having a good day and they make it even better!
This is the funniest the email from Suzanne 😂😂😂
karl definitely had a headache because susanne wasn't there to remind him to drink water on the golf course XD
They had me at "man moth".
Ted Manquen they had me at "you never see a black ghost"
+- FreeFlow - they had me at u never see an old man eating a twix
+havitup iaubnocamito had me at wheelie bin.
its the kind of thing that you remember where you were the first time you heard it.
MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARS
bar bar bar
karl got rekt by steve at the end lololol
Yeah lol.
best podcast on yt
Karl "They were giving it away for free."
Steve "Ding dong."
"ooooh hello!" Its Camp David
... Oh sorry different kind of ding dong
I'm with Steve, who spends 20 quid on lunch?
THAT'S MENTAL.
I lose it when Ricky sings " and by the way he's playing along "
Me too 😂
avenged sevenfold - a little piece of Heaven. Song with a story.....
"They're blowing it down the arcade!"
I think this episode is the first time Ricky mentions U2 and doesn’t talk about how he used to hate them.
This is their best episode for me, it's got everything certainly karl at his best :)
I like these videos. Proper comforting, could listen to these while the world ends tbh.
I think one of the funniest things about these is Ricky saying something absurd to Karl and Karl just giving it the dignity of an answer. "Answer it, that could be Kate Bush!" "I know for a fact it isn't."
Play a record ! ! !
Ricky loves saying that each episode
4:33 woah never realized ricky actually let an f bomb slip in the xfm days
Don't think he fully says it. 🤔
I feel hard on Steve in this episode, Steve has said in s1 he classes Ricky as a best mate/brother but he’s got to listen to Ricky and Karl’s weekend away
😭
42:17 brilliant story
I agree with Steves money saving techniques and don't think he's stingy, just logical.
Jake Williams stressful city, Tokyo...
Then he buys a £3000 TV so big he can't watch it without standing in the street and peering in his own window. Sick of 'im!
Eyes bulging with imagined logical riches
The guy will never run out of money, he's a multi-millionaire. Saving money makes zero sense
multi-millionaires go bankrupt too, you still have to be careful with where your money goes and that you dont live beyond your means
I love the condensity of these shows, they make me ting my way up the tube, and suck the driveway.
"Yolk, O, Oh no" 😂
www.theguardian.com/science/2005/may/22/theobserver.technology this is the yoghurt article Karl talks about, even more funny when you know what he's seen
+Deja Q Nice one, cheers Deja Q!
+Deja Q amazing!
+Deja Q Nice find. Amazingly it looks like there's no conjecture on this one. The guy literally said "You could have a conversation with your strawberry yoghurt before you eat it.'"
This episode should really have been called "Smuggling Seaweed."
And I've realised that about fifty other people have written the same thing.
it’s actually unreal how many holidays karl has😂
This email from Suzanne. I rkn ive listened to it 130 times.
55:56 R-"you were home alone were you Wednesday night"
I'm picturing Karl in the movie, swinging paint cans down the stairs, "this is my flat 'init"
Bacteria,fish,mermaid,man lol.
Yoke? Oh, oh... Nooooo!
ha its THAT episode is it, weird we are listening on the same day dude :P
“...I wouldn’t have answered a letter from someone called Babooshka!”🤣x
Really friendly yoghurt, hahahaha.
Interesting hearing Joaquin Pheonix's name mentioned back then.
"H-Wackeen Feenix!"
In an early xfm show Karl reviews Gladiator
57:09 may just be my favourite Ricky laugh
they give karl that batshit rockbusters clue, said in his own style, to try and show him how ridiculous they are.. and he gets it straight away hahaha
"nowt wrong with that"
Title teaser should have been Fish... Mermaid... Man. Ha! Nice uploads man
man, those sound levels.
LOL! I never noticed until now when Ricky is slagging off Ladder 49 and saying noone has seen it Karl says "well, there's 49 of them...". He is just as quick as the other 2 sometimes.
I need to stop reading the comments and start listening.
the quiche story is the best!
