    Bruce, KT from India here. Yes I just bought these last week...exact same problem and I have the same feet as you (I have flat feet and wide toes). I first took them on the road, felt the same feeling and then did a few miles on the treadmill. I thought maybe I'm confused...but when I saw your video today, I recognised that this shoe is for people with narrow and light feet. Even when I walk in this shoe, my feet over pronate and I am an overpronator. If you're an over pronator, the structure of the shoe will make your feet roll inwards and the inward part of your midfoot is always hanging in the air. The cushioned midsole makes your legs roll inwards even more aggresively when run faster. I also felt that the shoe started to stress my shin. Which now I know why, like you explained. The concept is great but not for people like you and me. Infact what a coincidence, my favourite goto runner is the Pegasus too :) Btw... I've just ordered the Novablast 4 to see i that changes anything. On the other side, I own a pair of NB 1080 v13s as well... Their cushion also turned out to be comfortable but a little too cushioned for long runs. So, I use them for easy runs.

    Never understood Asics shoes. Their upper make your feet super warm so you'd think they would be ideal for winter but their outsole have no grip on wet surface so you just slip all over the place. Also, if you have low cut socks, the tab rubs against the skin... super uncomfortable! I think they're made for people standing on their feet all day in an air conditioned work environment.

    Nimbus is the model for neutral/under pronation and people with normal/high arches. The asics model for flat feet and overpronation is gel-kayano.

    I also had a similar experience. Not sure if I will persevere with them and try again, or just move them on. A real shame because I loved the max cushion feeling.

    Best cushioned running shoes for me are the Skechers Go Run Max Road 5. Lightweight, very comfy, breathable, nice cushion without being too soft and unstable, and with these shoes, your landing is always in the midfoot, not on the heel. I have 8 pairs of running shoes and I always end up wearing the Max Road 5 even when going for a walk.

    I found the Nimbus 25 too sock for my high arches even with the Fleet Feet inserts. I then went to the Saucony Triumph 20 (for $80!!) and early enjoyed them. I’ve since landed on the Saurcony Endorphin Pro 3 for the extra pop off the step with the carbon plate and love them a lot (but pricey). Give those a shot! I’m heavier so I found I was bottoming out the Nimbus and other max cushion shoes

      Yes Sir. That's a good choice. I think I have by chance hit the right show reviewer and the right set of audience here. I have flat feet and big toes and I need to know more people who are like me.
      Triumph 21 is surely a very good option. Other options I'm about to try next week are the Novablast and GT 2000 12.

      I don't know why but we (in India) pay a premium for all these shoes that you are able to get around 80 bucks. It's the govt. sucking the taxes.

    Sometimes it’s good to rotate shoes and let both shoe and foot recover. I’m having weird aches in the sole with the Nimbus 24 which went away after a while on my first pair and then came back again when I started on the second pair. I find that weird.

    Nope!
    U r fine!
    Those shoes are garbage!
    I underpronate/supinate and I have been wearing Asics Nimbus since the 15s.
    21s were amazing! And the 22s onward have been downhill!
    I put over 300 miles on the 21s. The 24s? Less than a hundred b4 I needed new shoes!
    But it has been downhill ever since...
    U did the right thing to return those shoes...
    Asics is going to have to do something about those 25 shoes!
    I just returned the Asics Nimbus 25s after less than 100 miles because I was in so much pain! It was like running bone on bone! The pain has been excruciating!
    I returned those and thought maybe the stackheight could be the issue.... and I bought the Asics Cumulus 25s.
    Welp.....Same issue! Less than 7 miles and I am in excruciating pain! We talking knee pain, hip and joint pain, etc!
    The Asics Nimbus 25s and Cumulus 25s cause horrible mis- alignment. I do also agree in terms of the heel toe running. It forced me into that type of stride. Oddly, it eased the pain in knees, but led to pain in my hips.
    I know I was all over the place, but I jumped on your wall just to say....
    U did the right thing!
    As for replacements?
    Right now, I just bought the Brooks Ghost Max. I only walked 3 miles in them and they feel promising.
    I will be contacting Asics this week to retun the Cumulus 25s.
    I originally had the same idea to just keep them for walkaround shoes.
    Buuuuuuit nope!
    I am in too much pain!
    I was thinking of picking up some Nike Pegasus, but so far Nike is not loving on us big peope as I am having a challenge finding Nike neutral running shoes in a 12 -4e(extra wide) that I like.
    We'll see....
    And oh....I do not work for either of those companies...
    I just needed some walking/jogging shoes and well....Its social media so I posted. 😂
    ❤❤

      @brucechastainreviews  8 месяцев назад +1

      thanks for the big reply :) Well I do wonder if they would have improved for me, but currently I'm doing fine with my Pegasus. I think when you have issues as we do, just find something that works and stick with it.

    • @mnash3
      @mnash3 8 месяцев назад

      @@brucechastainreviews- I agree one hundred percent! It took me awhile...When I was young and skinny, I started in the Nike Pegasus. Had no idea about running shoes. Just bought shoes because I needed them. They worked. But then I put on weight. I tried the Altras, Brooks Dyad, Hokas, and some others over the years and Asics Gel Nimbus started off a little shakey with the 15s, but the 15s were better than the others. Not only that....That stack height was perfect. And they just kept making wonderful improvements each year. So I stuck with them because they work. Well....now they don't work so I am forced back on the market. I am literally on my way in the next hour to return the Cumulus 25s, pick up some new insoles, (turns out those are important as well, much longer story), and then to the park for a 3 mile walk/jog in the Brooks Ghost Max.
      Oh....I tend to ramble so the only points are u were right stay with what works for you and the second is just the reminder sometimes u just gotta go with your gut.
      ❤😂

    Same problem here. I powered through them. It's fading after 100 miles. Even better after 200ks. My foot are building a lot of calluses under the feet. The way to mitigate this is to. 1. Slow down. 2 use less forefoot strike and bring is back to midfoot almost heel. They dont like fast at all. 11 miles is as much i took them out for. Anything over 8 is a bit of a pain still. It's not a great LR shoe

    For me too cushioned shoes make me land heel first and also run’lazy’, my feet muscles stop doing stuff they need to do to absorb imoact. Makes my feet and knees and shins hurt. So more ‘poppy’ cushioned shoes work better for me or firmer shoes. For me the saucony triumph work well as well as the nike infinity react.

    Hi running friend, I've been running for 3 months now , and have done a LOAD of research (from AI to internet to gym trainers etc..) what I'm guessing, educated by your video , is that you seem to have lost your technique from changing shoes , as it's not the shoe that tell you how to plant your feet but your technique adjusting to the shoes(hope that makes sense ) ,
    your aim is to place your mid foot on the ground no matter the shoe (not tip toe nor heel) I would suggest doing running drills ( internet will show you them , they help you land midfoot all the time) with the shoes on .
    In my opinion it's your lack of technique at the moment that's causing the issues and not the shoes themselves. I believe you have become accustomed to your old shoes and lost your technique with the new ones.
    Hope you have a good day
    P.S I got a pair of 25s also , had no problems, I would side with you about running hot but then again nothing I couldn't handle

    • @brucechastainreviews
      @brucechastainreviews  7 месяцев назад

      I'm not an expert by far, but to be honest I'm not sure I'm buying the technique thing. I've tried some different running techniques over the years but really just always come back to a simple rather slow stride, which does come down heal to mid foot first. I've tried to land more centered on the mid foot before but really it's just uncomfortable and in the end I always go back to my old running style.

    They are overrated. Now I'm weary about getting rhe superblast. They are fine when you walk in them, but running i found them lacklustre. I rather wear even the sen 9 for a long run then these. Probably the worst shoe I've bought. I had the same issues you speak of.
