We all know how car makers sell their sub-safety standard cars in INDIA, and when it comes to unsafe cars, Maruti Suzuki has always been the winner.
and it happened because Global NCAP wasn't impactful enough to summon unsafe car makers or drag them to testing centers.
However, soon things will be different and each and every car maker will produce high-class international quality cars in INDIA as well, and this change will be the result of the New Bharat NCAP Integration.

Ncap should be sponsored by insurance providers.. any one who has less rating or no rating should have extra premium
this is the best idea..
Cars with less rating should not be sold in India at all
This is called lobbying with IC and air bag companies, it will make cars out of reach of lower middle class hence making them more vulnerable to accidents on their two wheelers
There are 30 different companies in IND that sell insurance....biggest is LIC. Good way to setup NCAP in India would be a joint collaboration of SAE (society of automotive engineers), Top Institutes / Hospitals and Developed and Funded by Ministry of Transport. These kinds of big projects always need govt support.
So technically Premium of bike should be more than Cars since Bikes are no where near as safe as even low grade car.
This rule will just make cars more expensive. Infact government should give some sort of incentive to build safer cars.
I agree, it should have been mandatory for manufacturers to pass the test with some minimum numbers, to insure basic safety
If it is mandated then the manufacturers will add it to the ex showroom price of the car. Since it is voluntary they cannot hand us the bill for it.
Rather it should be heavily implied that the cars should be tested.
First of all... Govt should lower the tax for cars.... China sells more cars because tax is low and they also have better roads... Where're all the car tax money going? As far as I know all the new express way/highway are built on loans.. 😅
India has highest tax even for fully made in india cars...
When avg income is so low but tax being high is pathetic and guess who's bleeding money? Indians banks... Majority of Indians car buyers opt EMI...
Cars less than 4 stars shouldn't be allowed to sell....the cars that dont pass should be banned for sale...also taxes on cars should be low... So that people can buy safe cars..
@@samratgaur4915 tata and Mahindra are doing it with in or around same cost.I companies like maruti will increase the cost ,who will gonna purchase them
Thanks for adding Australian reviews of Scorpio N. This shows how much mature the market is there. They already consider passive safety as a bare minimum and expect active safety in every car. Gradually we will become like that too and the market will react accordingly thanks to pragmatic person like Gadkari ji.

I'd compare Global NCAP ratings for a car with the Bharat NCAP ratings. If Bharat NCAP scores are better, then I'd be skeptical.

BNCAP must be mandatory so that companies like Tata, VW, Scoda, Mahindra will be appreciated for not only making a car for their business but also providing safety for their customers. Other wise some companies will continue to build tin canes for making their profit 😒😒😒

Totally agree with you. A good safety rating should be a requirement for manufactures to sell their cars.
Not keeping it mandatory is actually genius. A car brand that voluntarily sends their cars for testing is simply saying "You can trust us". Mandatory would've meant it would've affected the automotive industry in a bad way. But now people can make choice based on two things 1)Safety (obviously) 2) Good will of the brand
Abhi Tata with their Jaguar and Land Rover + Mahindra with their Pininfarina takeover se Europe ke cars ka safety and build quality seekh kar implement kar rahe hain to acha initiative hai Gadkari sir se unsafe cars bechna kam hoga aur hopefully future tak 0% but Bharat/India jaise bade country me atleast 99% tak kam karne se badhiya hoga. Best way out is to buy this entire safety rating agency and take 5 stars. This will boost their sales and image. A very common thing in India. I won't directly trust this government agency.
Though Bharat NCAP is voluntary, in certain cases, cars may be subjected to a crash test such as for a base model of a popular variant (minimum clocked sale of 30,000 units), or when the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways recommends a model for testing based on market feedback or in the interest of public safety.
Being a part of a society where the roots of corruption are in the blood of every human being, the biggest question is whether they #NCap will perform their duties with full honesty and integrity.???
Don't think so.
First India needs a educated PM and then tougher process of obtaining a license.
Indian are the worst drivers on the planet, and it's totally because of Indian Government.
The Indian fu©ks don't have 1 second of patience. They never follow a lane and love creating stop and go traffic, and inhaling toxic air of 500 AQI Level.
They'll unnecessarily accelerate and brake, and then complain about low mileage.
The ratings will be manipulated in exchange for huge amount of money
Apart from safety, NCAP is playing the part of an added USP for many brands in our country. I went to 2 Tata motors showroom near my house to look for purchasing a new car. At both places, the sales reps talks about safety only and not other features. So this NCAP rating is actually helping Cars of Tata Motors towards a bigger sell.
We can see clearly that Maruti has lost its place in the " Cars above 10 lakh" segment. This segment will clearly not compromise on safety at all.
yeah because higher end buyers don't want a low running cost car when they have better options elsewhere
True but above 10 lakh buying segment is way less compared to below 10 lakh buying segment. Maruti was never known for their high end vehicles but rather the entry segment vehicle like Alto. Also many people are taking safe cars for granted. They feel just because it is Tata they can drive rashly.
True bro..India mein safety ko kyu compromise kiya jata hai pata nahi ... Nitin gadkari sir is doing a great job .. lets see what happens when ford will come again
Useful video, thanks brother. Govt should mandate Bharat NCAP for auto manufacturers instead of keeping it voluntary
In my opinion, it's a good decision to not make Bharat Ncap mandatory, For The Initial Years. As it gives the Ncap opportunity to prove itself legit in testing cars, as we saw that many AutoMakers have already sent their cars for testing voluntarily.
Although, Over time it Must be made mandatory for auto makers to get atleast a threshold rating at Bharat Ncap.
Once people become safety conscious, especially those buying mid to high end cars, automakers will start making safer cars. Brezza scored 4 stars. Same will happen with Creta.
I think it will become like star ratings on ACs and fridges. People will slowly realize the benefits over the next few years, and start preferring higher star rated cars, even if it costs a bit more. I hope that by 2030 Indians ask the showroom staff what's the NCAP rating before they ask what's the kmpl.
Whatever man, only hope os with bjp, if congress comes, no ncap nothing, only muslim appeasement
@@trilokyamohanchakra6351 come on man, no need to push religious agenda everywhere. How is religion related to safety ratings?

I dont think Bharat Ncap will bring any drastic changes in sales of cars in India. Being passed in this test is not just enough for a car, the buyer assess the reliability service availablity and so many other factors before buying. The 90% consumer base in India is from rural and semi urban segment who drive the cars for essential needs and drive very carefully are least bothered about Ncap rating. India is a country that moves and survives on bikes autos and small cars.

No for me it's fun+safety not only safety
@@humanbeing4589Bro I don't care about mileage , safety features are must .
I think testing for NCAP ratings shouldn't be made mandatory (as it already is), but any car which is set to be launched in the Indian car market should be made compulsory to go through certain types of safety tests accordingly. This will not only fill in that empty spot of whether the car one's buying is safe or not, but will also promote Automobile manufacturers and OEM companies to provide us (customers) with a SAFER product overall.👍
Testing should be mandatory.
Having to meet safety requirements shouldn't.

I wont necessarily agree with companies NOT being allowed to sell regardless of a 0 star rating because most entry level car buyers are upgrading from a two wheeler which in itself is more unsafe as compared to unrated/low ranking cars in similar crash scenarios
Finally someone with brain power to get it why bncap was made optional
@@outstanding8722yeah for the average Indian middle class people, buying suzuki car for it's mileage and cheap price is the only option.

I totally agree with you, The Bharat NCap test should be mandatory for all car brands to sell their car in india. India really needs safe cars
keeping this optional at beginning is a good first step. It'll put pressure on car companies to send their (safer) cars for testing and make their unsafe cars better with time
It'll benefit both public and companies
* public will know which current cars are safe
* companies will be able to gauge market and know which models to improve and which ones to discontinue
Government should make it compulsion to manufacturers that only 4 or 4 plus rated cars allowed to be put on market then only car manufacturers will create safer cars otherwise bncap will be just an placebo effect

The government should never tell us what to buy. Customers should choose whether he buys 5 Star rating car or 0 star rating car. If the government tells us what we should buy then we will be in trouble.
I think it's a good decision to not make Bharat NCAP mandatory. Cuz since it is a government organisation, there might be a chance of evolution of a system of corruption / bribe for clearing the minimum benchmark of an otherwise poor quality vehicle.
Thanks for this Video. I feel this should be mandatory for all manufacturers in India

No
Don't think so, more than 90% for vehicles are running without ADAS on Indian roads
India is the third largest consumer for cars only because of the lack of these safety norms tbh. If these are applied, the prices of the cars should increase and then I think we might slip a position or two, but I think that is perfectly okay.

I think maruti has purposefully sent models like grand vitara, brezza etc. This platform has good safety ratings in NCAP already. Since the testing severity is less in BNCAP therefore they might even get better ratings.

BNCap will be mother of corruption.
U speak really well, infact I watch your videos fully without any fast forwarding coz u already do that , discussed crux of the matter on a speedy note. Impressive.
But you know the real fact which I feel , if the governments would have really that much concerned about people safety they would not have delayed much. In a country we live in where the best leaders have not shown any concern till date on life safety , I mean a common bread earner in this country would rather die then go to a private hospital , 😅.
