Did any of your favorites NOT make the list? Let us know what YOUR S-tier pencils and erasers are in the comments!
My s tier pencil and erasers are the uni kuru toga (also using the pencil lead from uni/faber castell) and tombow mono eraser and also pentel hi polymer eraser 💖💖
I sometimes also like regular wooden pencil (staedtler and fc) for heavy shading 😁💖
I like uni alpha gel mechanical pencil!
Kaweco Special brass mechanical pencil
I've really been enjoying the Platinum OLEeNU Shield. The grip is comfortable, the eraser works well, the refills for the eraser are easy to find, and the lead-protection is both neat and useful.
This is a pretty early "review" though, since I haven't had it for long. Way better than the other pencils I've had so far though!
Kuru Toga hands down. But I'm worried about these erasers that melt plastic now. Maybe you could write a guide on those for your site, or do a quick video on them? It would be good to know a little about the chemistry behind it. Anyway, great video - as always. Thank you!
Oh gosh, I had heard of erasers melting plastic but never actually saw it. That’s like what stationery nerds have nightmares about. Now we’ll need a new video on how to protect ourselves from stationery gone rogue.
It's kind of funny how often it happens and you don't think about it! Sooo many slightly weird looking spots on plastic surfaces. One of my erasers has a purple stain on it because it tried to melt another plastic eraser.
I have a pen I had hung with a air freshener and it made no sense why it melted against it.
You know, I've got my eraser collection all kind of packed together in these plastic display containers and it occurs to me I'm unintentionally running the equivalent of a body farm for eraser-eraser interaction. Maybe I should take notes.
Oh man, “Stationery Gone Rogue” sounds like an AMAZING video title! @JetPens, please make this happen!
Thank god that only happened on an old eraser i had i qould have had a heart attack if that happened to a expensive, new or high-quality eraser
Nothing beats a mech pencil, even it's shorthand name sounds like a giant robot which makes it objectively the best
Ey finally! Someone who calls a mechanical a mech pencil! I've been looking for ya 🤣
I just wheezed so hard imagining that after you click the pencil it just suddenly turns into a whole epic battlebot, transformers-style xD
@@TrademarkedIPAdress or a sword like Percy Jackson 😅
@@TrademarkedIPAdressSee, I was thinking of a Gundam holding a giant pencil 😅
I was today years old when I learned some erasers can melt plastic. 😳 Follow-up video on why and which?? Pencils: ❤️ wooden pencils, Blackwings especially. Nice to see them on the podium. 🥈
Yes, I'm just hearing about this from this video. I'm still making my way through the backlog of JetPens videos, but if no video had been done about this yet, I would love for one to be made. No good spending all this money on nicer things, all for an innocent looking eraser to ruin it all 😅
What you didn't mention is the really terrific erasers on the Blackwing pencils! They can be adjusted to use the entire thing, and they're refillable!
Wait-WHAT!?
@@Floofy_3421 😁 They sell refill erasers in a multitude of colors. 😁
@@LaLa_ArtGal fr?i didnt know that!
@@Floofy_3421 It's pretty great, right? 😁
@@LaLa_ArtGal yup!srry for not answering I was showering.
One of my new favorites has to be the Pentel Energizer. I often times get told that it looks like a pen and people are usually so blown away when I take the cap off to show them that it is a pencil.
Can we get more "You didn't know you needed" series? Honestly, I wouldn't have known about so many stationery brands without you guys. 💜
Just bought a green DelGuard and I’m happy! It goes well with my froggy pen case.
I think I have the same pen case
@@ksprice45 Froggy 🐸 luv
Hows it holding up?
@@michaelwodz9807 Still a favorite!
The GraphGear 1000 (0.3mm) and the Orenz (0.2mm) are my pencils of choice; my handwriting is so tiny that a 0.7mm lead might as well be writing with a crayon. For erasers, I like the Pentel ClicEraser; the pen-shaped grip gives me a little more precision than the larger, block-type erasers when I need to make tiny, precision edits, though it's not as good when I need to take out a whole line.
I love the kuru toga, but there’s something about the tombow and how it feels that just makes me like it more
I really enjoy using the uni kuru toga pencils for drawing, plus they have the added bonus of getting really cute designs!! 😊i love my two pikachu pencils, and i'm waiting for the ghibli designs to come back in stock so i can pick up a few more!
I have the spirited away one and the design is amazing although it faded after 1 year or so... There's a lot of friction is going on to my bag... I should've taken care of it more properly...
My favourite mechanical pencil is the Zebra DelGuard. I don’t have to worry about the lead snapping with that one
Faber Castell 9000 and Pitt Matt Graphite are the best wooden pencils. Faber Castell TK 4600 and TK 9400 lead holders are by far the best. Pentel P205 and GraphGear 500. Pentel Ain Stein leads. Tombow Mono Plastic Eraser and MONO ZERO, Kum Sharpeners for wooden pencils, M+R as second choice and Faber Castell for 2mm/3.15mm lead. Staedtler 502 Sharpener. Polychromos is my pick for Coloured pencils.
Those are the BEST, for Artists!
I've tried almost all the art supplies on those categories. I always search for the best possible performance. If anybody has to add/suggest others, please do!
Favorite wood pencil: Uni
Favorite mechanical pencil: Uni Alpha-Gel Switch
Favorite Eraser: Vanish 4in1 Eraser (Jetpens you really need to stock this one!)
I bought a monograph several years ago, was a great mech pencil, worked flawlessly until last year when some dirts got inside the pen, causing the metal cylinder stuck into the white plastic part that connects to the clamp, making the shaking most likely unsuable, still a nice mech pencil despite losing its fascinating function
I have the Pentel Orenz and after having an issue in which I needed to return it and have it replaced I will say I like it a lot now that it is working. I really like the weight and it is a lot smoother than I expected. I went for .2 mm as I like my small font writing with clear crisp lettering and it does a great job :) If you get it to work right out of the box like it's supposed to I enjoy it a lot. It's not my perfect pencil but it is pretty close.
I missed the poll, but the tombow mono graph is my current fav pencil, the bit of extra weight from the shaker feels nice in my hand. after using it for a while and trying to pick up one of my other pencils they felt too light, but it could simply feel more natural for me cause the first pencil I got used to drawing with was also a shaker.
The Uni Alpha Gel Mechanical Pencil is my favorite! I love how it rotates the lead and its soft grip section keeps my fingers from hurting.
I agree, no one really mentions it but it’s great!
Yes! I just got one and I’m in love
My fav mechanical pencil is the regular Bic 0.7 😊 that's all, simple yet durable and i loooove the retro feel
My favorite mech pencil brands are redcircle and muji mech pencil. I enjoy using redcircle since it has a lot of weight compared to other mech pencil and muji is my go-to mech pencil. My fave eraser is Sakura foam. I didn’t know that using a high quality eraser will make a lot of difference in your artwork. Such a great discovery. Will definitely try some of these pencils and erasers someday💕
My favorite mechanical pencil is the Uni Alpha Gel Shaka Shaker, the grip makes it comfortable(maybe a little to much that my classmates keep stealing it...) and I love the Shaker mechanism. I'm planning on buying 3 more mechanical pencils soon!
Didn't know I needed those outtakes!!! Too funny and the narrator has such a cute voice
I want to go back to school, just so I can take notes and do homework with these fancy pencils!
Me too, but that's because I git my 40 and my eyes and teeth, are not as good as it was back then, Damn youth goes out fast!!
I use the pentel p203 for my mechanical pencil, and the kokuyo 28 corner eraser for erasing, it's material is just better at erasing than anything else I've tried.
I have two favorite pencils. I hope it's okay. My Ystudio Classic bronze pencil, and my purple Del Guard. My favorite eraser is the Pentel Ain Clic Knock Triangular Eraser. Thank you for the video. It's nice to see other great pencils to try for different things. Buttery lead sounds so nice. You guys are wonderful with descriptions.
It's been almost 4 years and my 0.5mm Orenz never failed me. A choice I won't ever regret.
The Uni Kuru Toga is a DREAM!!! I know teachers that ask parents for Ticonderoga pencils because cheap pencils don't sharpen well. After working at a school, I get it. Don't waste your money on cheap pencils. The Uni Kuru Toga is the mechanical Ticonderoga. ❤❤❤
I'm partial to the mitsubishi 9850, love that pencil! Woodcase pencils are what I use most of the time.
All these products look so nice!
The mechanical pencil poll is SOOOOO accurate for me,
They are exactly my rankings.
I'm interested in the Sakura Sumo eraser. I've used many erasers, to name a few: Staedtler Mars-Plastic Grand, Sanford Artgum, Pink Pearl. It may be time to try something new.
I agree that the Uni Kuru Toga is fantastic because it does not lose sharpness. I have also used Pentel P205 and Faber Castell Autoclick which also work very well even though they do not bring technological innovations. As for wooden pencils I stick with Faber Castell and Staedtler, they are easy to find and reasonably priced. As for erasers I have mixed feelings about some of the big name brands. Some do not deliver what they promise. Lately I'm using Lavoro, an Italian brand that erases very well and doesn't leave smudges, is retractable and inexpensive. And in the line of malleable art erasers I like Faber Castell.
My Pentel erasers turn plastic to goop also so i lined my desk drawer organizer with gaffers tape. No more goop and it has a nice texture
I do like my mechanical pencils. I got so many zebra delguards, because of your recommendations. But the Pilot Dr grip mechanical pencil. Is a second choice for me. But I'm always using the delguard.
My holy grail erasers.. Boxy, Pentel Plastic, RADAR, Tombow Monograph, SAKURA FOAM. WHICH i use the most? BOXY, affordable, durable, clump together enough, black (not look dirty), easy to devide into 3 small chunks to put every where..
I love the channel keep up the great work, you deserve a million subscribers. hugs from Brazil
As for the F-C 9000:
- 3 shapes: round, triangular or hexagonal
- comes with an eraser
- and even as a JUMBO
There is also a version with a protection cap!
I'm still missing the Kurutoga in my collection, i got Graphgear 500 and Tombow Mono Shaker in my collection already!
I had that same problem with my Pentel Hi Polymer eraser (not Ain) @5:01. So inconvenient that my sleeve was so flimsy, I had to take it off and THIS is what happens when I leave it beside anything plastic. (It erodes).☹️
I'm a fan of the kuru toga mechanical pencils. I have some that I haven't even used!, just because they were striking. To me, the kuru togas are a pencil and a collectable.
Also, could you do one of these with lead holders?
Faber castell retractable eraser is my favorite
Hi! I got the Tombrow Mono Graph Pencil, and it has a lock feature so that lead does not come when it shakes in a backpack, car, etc. The problem I have however, is that when I do shake the pencil to get more lead out of it, it just got in to the lock and doesn’t allow lead. Do you know why this is happening ?
Oh i have been using the boxy and so that's why my boxy is sticky, i also feel superior bc my course can trade points for the boxy
Oohh.. yeess.FaberCastel 9000.. till today.. although I mostly use mech. & lead holder recently for mobile reason.
Faber Castell 187120 Dust Free eraser,is not just the best eraser that company makes, but it's also up to the same level of perormance, with the Tombow Mono Plastic. It's also soft, which makes it ideal for artists (not damaging the paper) it doesn't smudge the graphite and it's one of the best, if not THE best, for color pencils. I'd easily put it in this list here. IMO the best 3 I've seen in performance and quality, are the Faber Castell 187120, the Tombow Mono Plastic and the Tombow Dust Catch, Sakura and Kokuyo come next, Seed probably follows. Staedtler ones are overrated, ithet are not at that level.
Thanks for the recommendation! I've been looking for a good cheap eraser
OMG!!! I have had that happening to some of my pencils and never thought it was because of the eraser! What?!!!
THE TOMBOW ERASER AAA I LOVE EM SOO MUCH even tho its a bit pricey but.. U GET WHAT U PAID FOR AAA❤❤❤
Btw i wanna add 1 other thing . .
Pentel hi polymer eraser....im sure its compatible with the m.pencil yall should try it
SOO AMAZIING 😭😭❤❤
my favorite mechanical pencils are rotring tikky special and sakura xs 12 and staedtler mars micro
My favorite mechanical pencils are Delguard, monograph and kurutoga advance pencils i have at least one or 2 of each pencil 😅
THE GREATEST CHANNEL ON RUclips!!!!!
I use graph gear 500 and it's awesome
Awesome
Pilot fure fure sprinter shaker?
Bro istg the faber castell white erasers are just 😩😩
You didn't mention Pentel Orenz Nero (automatic advancing lead, like S30)
Now I'm having an existential crisis and questioning whether the basic mech pencil I've been using for at least 3-4 years now is still something I should use or should I decide to upgrade to a better one.
But then again, if it's been lasting for that long, then I guess it's still a pretty great pencil lol
Some mechanical pencils are definitely cool, however I seem to have a soft side for wooden pencils lol
I like both mechanical and wood pencils.
I

TOMBOW MONO PENCILS >:(
Pentel/kuru toga which one is good for drawing?
Hi there! Except for the Uni Kuru Toga, we recommend all the mechanical pencils we featured for drawing. The Kuru Toga is best meant for writing as the lead rotates every time the pencil is lifted from the page, and thus requires frequent, short strokes.
Nobody ever tells us why certain erasers melt plastic, although we all know it must be the formulation but the exact solvent used is never known...
This is the first time I've ever heard of an eraser "melting" anything. I would love to know the chemicals that create this situation bc surely it's not just the Boxy brand that does it.
Is there a sampler for quick dry pens?
We have two samplers for left-handed writers that include some of our fastest drying pens! www.jetpens.com/JetPens-Pen-Sampler-for-the-Left-Handed-Black/pd/21609
www.jetpens.com/JetPens-Pen-Sampler-for-the-Left-Handed-Blue/pd/24746
A warm wood pencil will always feel better in the hand than any plastic or metal mechanical one.
Do you have stadtler mechanical pencil 2mm😊
At least I bought the Uni Kuru Toga lol
It’s a premium variant, steel
I'll bet its not the hard to get gold roulette😏
Anyone else write with a 1.3 mm mechanical pencil? I press really hard naturally so even 0.9 mm break often for me. My favorite is the Kokuyo Enpitsu Sharp.
How is the Pilot S30 never included? It is the king of mechanical pencils. Load it with 4b lead. Brilliant!
The Graphgear 1000 is very overated and the Pilot S30 is the opposite very underated. That being said, we all have our favorites, mine is the Pentel GraphGear 500 (5 times better than the 1000 model) and the Pentel P205. With both these, I make the most beatiful letters and I've extensively tested them on both technical but mainly free drawing and came out to be the best performers. Even thow both versatile so can't be used for anything from writing to drawing and all these better than others. I would say the GraphGear 500 would shine even more on Technical and the P205 on Free drawing. Both are good at writing, just different, P205 slight advantage on writing, even though the 500 is the most precize mechanical pencil I've used.
why oleenu not included in this list??
Guys I am torn between pentel graphgear 1000 and uni kurotoga. I need out for writing. Can someone with experience guide me here ? Much thanks !
If you need something heavy duty (the GraphGear is made of metal!), we suggest the GraphGear. If you write mostly in print and not cursive, we suggest the Kuru Toga. Hope this helps!
It’s going to be hard to find the 0.2 lead if that one is done don’t you think 🤔
I'm surprised (not offended just surprised) that Staedler ranked on pencils but not on erasers, I thought the Mars Plastic was pretty great, but maybe it doesn't hold up against these?
why do some erasers stick and sorta melt when put next to plastic?
Hi there! It's because some erasers contain substances called plasticizers which make plastics more malleable at room temperature. Contact with other hard plastics will make them slowly melt over time.
the background music goes hard
Orenz Nero is S-Tier
Witch one is better: kuru toga or tombow?
None of the 2,get a Pentel! Kerry for writing/edc or Graphfear 500 for drawing/sketching.
They both nice pencils
I KNOW Faber-Castell pencils will be in this video
Those guys knows what makes a good and reliable stationery
I need to sit down and recover from the fact that the OHTO Super Promecha didn't make the list...
I have bought 3 kuru togas this year alone. One drop and theyre gone. Good pencils but poor durability
Erasers!!!!
Pentel GraphGear 500 is way better than the > Graphgear 1000. As the Pentel P205, is better than the Orenz.
Who makes these names?!
I wish I can buy those mechanical pencils, but I don't have enough money 😢
Protect your stationaries at all cost
You didn't show one important moment about mechanical pencils - do those metal tips hide slowly inside. Because if they don't move, the pencil won't write long, and you will have to constantly press the top to move the lead or shake the pencil. Also, if the tip doesn't hide, it can be broken or bent more easily.
Mam I am biggest fan of your videos
pilot rexgrip 0.5
What happened to that poor eraser? What kind of reaction is that lol
you forgot the pilot mogulair
This was 1 day after my birthday 🙄
ERASERS
Palomino black wing 602 is way better than fabercastel!!!!!!
Instead of these use simple pencil
Comfort n affordable
I bought the UNI when I was living in japan and unless you are asian and you write with strokes like kanjis is totally useless for cursive or drawing you need a lot of force to keep the pencil turning so not good for me
Yep, that's why it's better to just buy body that hold 0.2 or 0.3 leads.
jfioewjfoejfeojfojfofjofjeo
Why jet pens team don't put any rotryng in this video?😢
I like rotryng because, the pencils looks profi and has a good quality of materials...
Imagine rotryng 800+ for 24k tip and the retractic tip,who make the pencil,a realy good capacitiv stylus
This video has a dislike in my opinion...
my birthday is coming in 2 weeks will u gift me a pen pls
