- When I went to Japan this fall I couldn't help but notice... just how many erasers their stationary stores had. With that many erasers... there was only one thing to do. TEST THEM ALL!

The pentel ones that doesn't erase pen and pencil well are for the pen with thermosensitive inks!! They create heat when being pressed and erase the ink that's thermosensitive.

The tombow “Sand” is actually meant for pen. I used to have one and it works good on different pens.
Also, the cap eraser in miscellaneous is a faber-castel, it says that on the thing.

The sand eraser is for erasing ink mistakes, so it is supposed to take away pen ink, but not recommended for pencil because it can tear at the paper. It honestly comes so handy to have.
The reason the frixion eraser doesn’t work on your ink is because the “frixion” line of ink pens uses ink that turns invisible at a certain temperature. the friction from he rubber heats the ink until it turns clear

It turns kind of a very light yellow. And I've heard you can make the ink appear again by freezing the paper. I haven't tried it tho.

the Seed Anatas has the extra corners so you can always have a sharp corner to erase with. and the Pilot FriXion one is just a piece of rubber to generate heat to erase the Pilot FriXion ink.

I have to admit, while Staedtler makes great pencils ; their erasers are pretty terrible .3. I'm disappointed with the one I got too
Right? TBH I was kind of surprised, especially because I used to use the Staedtler mars plastic eraser ALL THE TIME.

By the way, the Pilot Frixion pens are actually filled with ink that becomes transparent with heat ! So you can erase them with the tiny rubber eraser that's on the end of the pen. Those tends to get damaged, so it seems smart to sell an actual eraser too - I had no idea it existed though !
I had a sharpener of Staedtler,the best sharpener I've had
I had a graphite pencil of it and I now have an 6B pencil of it. Both are so great,I wasn't expecting the eraser to be bad ;0;
I use the Tombow Mono and Dustcatch. I love them. I had Staetler Rasoplast for long time ( They cheap in Germany) but depending on what you do and what Type of paper you work you need diffrent ones.I Prefer the Tombow for my Watercolor Papers and Ink Works.But i Prefer the Rasoplast for erase Pencil Lines on hard Surfaces like Canvas

this was fun, I want to buy erasers now XD I'm not an artist but for regular use I tend to get those Pentel ones - they sell them in 2 types, a regular white block (blue label) and a block where the dust sticks together (teal label). I used to play with the dust when I was in school - just rub the eraser on paper and get the dust, then knead it like putty. My favourite eraser was a stick one but I lost it so I'm kinda sad. Funnily enough, blue tack also works (sorta) as a cheap kneadable eraser, just that it gets gross and oily over time.

Pilot Frixion eraser is most probably for the Frixion line ballpoint and highlighter pens
It is. I have that eraser and it works great with those pens.
Paulxl then again I've tried regular eraser on frixion ball pens and it works too, though the frixion eraser would do much better I guess...
The frixion eraser isn't a regular eraser but a piece of rubber. The frixion pens erase by heat, the rubbing on it causes heat by friction, that's when the ink disappears. It will not erase pencils, as it is only rubber, not an eraser.
Common erasers also cause slight friction heat, that's why they might also erase frixion pens. But you can also leave your frixion writings in a hot summer car or place a hot plate on the paper and the writing will be gone.
The frixion pens can be erased by normal erasers but they don’t work as well, only erasing about 60% in my experience. The actual frixion ones are much better for the pens.
@@uwukotoa That is because the frixion ones are of a stiffer kind of rubber, which causes more heat if being rubbed on the paper than a regular (soft) eraser.

I use a Faber castel eraser and have so many extras I just have a cup of them on my desk so if I use one up or lose one I have like 15 extras but then if I start using a new one I find the old one somewhere in my house and get mad that I've used yet another eraser without needing to
Pasteloweenoh I didn’t know that. My high school art teacher gave me a ton of erasers as a grad gift as well as some guache and prismacolor pencils. I just personally like the firmness and how it’s not a massive eraser cause I have rather small hands so it’s nice to not hold some giant clunky eraser

My chinese eraser doesn’t erase the ink but works pretty well on pencil and pencil colours. It’s called U2 and has a holographic case if you wanna try it, dunno if you can find it tho, my parents bought it like 8 years ago

The weirdly shaped seed anatas rubber is shaped like that to give you lots of edges to use to rub out as you can be more precise with an edge of a rubber than with the full or round side
The weird shape of the Anata's is so that as you keep using it, more corners will be exposed, so you'll always have a cornered eraser for details... at least in theory

To explain the Frixion pen/eraser, these are basically specific erasable pens with a specific ink which basically dissapears from the heat that the erasing makes and the eraser is definetly not made for any pencil, these pens are pretty popular for students in my country

Only you can make a 22 minute video about erasers interesting and fun to watch 🙂
In watercolour I prefer kneaded erasers, as they leave little damage to the sizing of the paper. I form the eraser to a worm-like-shape and roll it over the pencillines.
Also you can shape it to a fine tip and erase very fine details in a darker pencil piece.
Would have been nice to see these qualities tested in the video. Still nice job to test 69 erasers. Thank you so much.
