- Ross Childress plays the National Anthem on his PRS! Turner Field for the 4th of July weekend celebration. Saturday, July 3rd (2010) Braves vs. Marlins. Atlanta, GA.
One of my all time favorite
🎸Guitarists 🎸.
Collective Soul was never the same, never as good without Ross Childress.
Ed wrote them but Ross transformed them into masterpieces with his "out of this world" solos
freddylumbergg4357e why pt.2 solo is to this day my favorite solo ever. And it’s not even that long.
A lot more then solos my man. Listen to all their albums at a good volume on some good headphones or speakers and you'll hear how truly amazing ross and Dean are. Those two traded riff after riff and it was all lead by rosses melodies and eds harmony
@@chrisbauman2562 I disagree. Ross was/is absolutely spectacular. Dean was a hack who wouldn’t have been in the band if it wasn’t for his brother. I just a video on YT that Moby put out about the E-Bow and it reminded me of the Disciplined Breakdown album and the absolute genius lead parts that Ross always put into the CS songs. Yes, his solos were great, but without those lead parts the songs would sound like…..well…..like they have since Ross was not in the band anymore, which is to say: lacking.
Even freaking CREED can reconcile their differences and reunite. Hoping Ross and Ed can speak, let apologies come from who needs to speak them, and forgiveness can follow.
Ross, please do this. Healing is so good. :-)

Ross, please do whatever you can to make this happen. Healing feels soooo good. THAT can be the theme of your first song back with CS!!
They are NOT the same without your special sound.
Ross is BA master of the wah and tremolo picking. Great performance!
Miss you Ross. I gave up guitar long ago, but you inspired me in other ways. Wish you and Ed and Shane could heal and re-spark the magic.
Never in my 38 years have I ever gotten the chills listening to the National Anthem. Ross, you turn everything on its ear. Thanks for being awesome.
Miss you!!! You're an amazing guitarist!!
Ross you are awesome!
miss you ross! since CS is doing dosage this summer, who the hell is going to sing "dandy life"?
Ross was the reason Collective Soul was so good in the first place. I don't think they've written one bare-bones rock song since he left...hence, I have not bought a CS record that doesn't contain Ross on it.
Look, you can have your opinion, but why would you sell yourself short and not discover NEW Collective Soul? Nobody said you can't enjoy Ross but come on... completely not buying Collective Soul albums because Ross isn't on them sounds so ignorant to me. Have you given any of their shit a chance? Go listen to their stuff on Spotify and RUclips. They have amazing new music out. Collective Soul is as good as they've always been, but just different. We all change. So please don't throw away some of Ed's best creations with the new lineup because your favorite Ross isn't on it. If you really love Collective Soul you'll find the enjoyment in more than just the guitars.
@@RetroSoulGirl I agree that Collective Soul is very different, in not a good way, without Ross. Yes, I’ve listened to ALL their albums hoping they’re good, but they aren’t. Hence I listen to them once each and never again.
great job ross. you're awesome man. miss you dude. keep up the good work. you have great creativity.
ross is the man!
so right neo..I wondered why I didn't care for later albums as much. This explaines alot:
look up collective soul on wiki and look at their discography: 4 platinums and a gold up to 2000 then nothing.
im miss him with the band.
ross is back!
WAY TO GO ROSS!
Wish Ross and the boys would reunite!! Don't get me wrong I love Joel, but Ross is amazing!
Awesome!!
Wonder what the CS songs would've sounded like had Ross not gotten himself kicked out of the band. Ed wrote the songs, Ross added that extra sizzle that made CS stand out as more than pure background music. For anyone that's curious, this is one of two PRS Metal Series guitars he owns/has owned. They were made between 1985-1987 and are the only paint job of its kind PRS ever released. These suckers sell for $10,000 to $20,000+ these days! Would love to own one of these guitars, but I've got a mortgage and a wife that spends money on $hit I didn't care about as a bachelor such as curtains. I've become lame -_-
love
Loooved it
Yeah, I wondered too what other great music was to come if Ross was still with CS. Damn! I feel so cheated...don't we all?
Fantastic job Ross! Always loved your guitar playing!
Also, what kind of effects are you using?
Good stuff Bro!
Imagine going from a lead guitarist at Woodstock 99’ to playing on random porch decks to no one and a RUclips account with only 200 followers.
The best still.
awesome. CS sure has missed Ross' talents. Ed made a mistake letting him go. Human beings make mistakes, especially when it comes to love/sex.
Well when you sleep with someone’s wife it’s bound to happen.
PATHETIC would be me trying to pull this off. If you can do better, please upload your version. I would be very interested in viewing it. Otherwise check out Ross' other version of the National Anthem, the one performed at Phillips Arena, Thrashers vs Panthers. I like that one better.
I wonder if he used his Crybaby 353Q Wah like he did with Collective Soul
this version isn't as soulful as the one at the hockey game. This one he seems to rush it and has more angry aggression. That's rock n roll for you.
good job hun
Its actually Kirk Hammett in disguise
Ed
I like Collective Soul. However, they are not nearly as good without you playing lead guitar!
Still riding on the coat tails....
You are talking about Dean, correct?
@@samuelbasye3508 Dean is the best rhythm guitarist on the planet. According to his brother anyway. 🙄
Bruh I don’t think Ross is intentionally riding coat tails or doing it at all. He is the former guitarist of collective soul that’s what he’s known for.
What have you done again?
THIS IS PATHETIC
That's odd, the same that was said by the doctor's when you were born
Ele traz muito de jimmi rendrix nos seus riffs não? Lembra muito.
Look who isnt famous anymore
You are nothing after getting the boot from CS...ha ha ha
If I could vote up 4 million times, I so would! ♥
Linda Sue Why?
Linda Sue Did you ever meet Ross?...I have...an think he was a prick for cheating with Eds wife
Robert Ramidin I've met him too, and I think you're a complete bitch for not being able to say anything to his face. Ross doesn't need Ed. Nobody does. Why? Because the industry is bigger than CS. Something that Ed doesn't seem to understand.
This Insurrection Whats Childress doing now? Living on food stamps He needed CS and is a nobody without them
He was replaced by a better player almost the next day pfft psssh
