Fun fact the live action cover 90% of the first saga of one piece, the east blue saga. This saga is actuly the calmest and most tame saga when compared to what happens next which is why im very excited for season 2 considering how this part of the series got so much hype, i cant wait to see how people react to the alabasta saga.
@DizGaAlcam I think there's gonna be way more than 8 episodes, but some acrs like wisky peak and little garden can be done in a single hour long episode.
@@ONEPEAKFRFR bro we have Loguetown, that's at least a full episode, gotta put Zoro getting the swords and Tashigi interaction, the whole thing with Buggy and Alvida, and the Dragon scenes. Then Reverse Mountain and Whiskey Peak can be another episode. Then at least 2 episodes for Drum Island and all the shenanigans there. And at least 2 episodes for Little Garden, there's a looot that happens there. This makes it 7, so maybe they do Reverse Mountain and Whiskey Peak as full episodes or put a longer focus on Little Garden
I see you are a BookTuber...there is a lady, Merphy Napier, she started her OP journey some two years ago, but caught the whole community by storm. You can relate to her playlist, while reading yourself..her first ever video of OP...Now even she says :- Old Merphy was stupid. Another Booktuber :- Dudes Talking Manga
@@DavidDecero Oh..thats cool. I came to know Merphy is a fan of Brandon Sanderson, and currently, Eiichiro Oda is on par with Brandon for her, as Top 5 authors. Her "Why I love One Piece", or whatever you wanna dive about, I guess you can connect to her better.
She said that? Wow. That's high praise indeed. Yeah, it's funny because I've been reading through the stormlight archive too. Thanks for pointing that out! @@lonewolf9325
In the grand scheme of things, especially from season 2 onwards... Just add four more layers/levels to the plot/conflicts to this three tier long term, short term, micro conflicts you've mentioned for season 1. Coz the it scales up in complexity, grandness, world building, depth, characters, relationships, conflicts.... Both in size (width and depth) and no. of levels. And all the multiple levels of plots, conflicts all of which are highly interconnected both vertically as well as in time. Especially, if we consider what's about to come from season 2 onwards, the east blue saga (covered in Season 1) feels almost miniscule in both scale, emotional investment and drama. Though the Nami's Arlong park scene will always be special in the hearts of the one piece fans.
Thats an excellent analyisis sprinkled with good humor, very good video. If you have the money and time reccomend you checking out the manga, with the amount of booktubers talking about it its like joining the coolest bookclub
It was adapted very well, but the source material is the masterpiece. Everything great about the live action is born from the rich story, characters, and world building of the manga/anime
@@Shiftarus bullshit. all you people that think this live action is a great adaptation share one common trait- you've never read the manga. The people that have read the manga think the live action is crap

A western version of One Piece already exists.., Pirates of the Caribbean (crazy pirates & mythical beeings) came out 2003 (just like Zelda Wind Waker did in 2002 in Jp.., when One Piece was starting to take over Japan)
I noticed the subscribe button does a cool little animation when you click on it now. Do what you will with that information. 👀
Read the manga you are going to be mindblown, try your best to avoid spoilers, they can take off the weight of some really emotional moments.

lol I'm looking forward to it!
Do not worry of the age old trope :- With the power of friendship, they prevailed....oh ho ho...pause.
This series does friendship just right.
They did well with the live action. 😊
Agreed.

What did you think of Netflix's live-action adaptation of One Piece?
I can't see how they could have made it better, it's a little masterclass in adaptation of a very, very difficult material

Read the manga
You should watch the anime or read the manga up to where they cover the live action and give your thoughts. Watch in Japanese please.
