"The two had beef" is actually a myth. Jerma said on stream a year or so a go that it's not the case and that Star was an incredible person, they just had different scopes to go after. Star_ said something similar, that Jerma is the funniest man he's ever known and that there wasn't really any issues between them. The false myth comes from a misunderstanding they had from a DnD session, but it happened around the time they split onto doing different things. I remember specifically people thought they hated each other for about a year but the reality was that they had a collab stream which just kept getting delayed so them having beef was just the excuse they came up with. One of the sterma moments of all time
Not only was there not a "beef", they settled it off stream and then pretended to still hate each other so they could do a bit where they made up on a livestream but had to delay it for almost a year so they kept up the act for way, way longer than expected.
Even back then i wasn’t really buying that they really ‘split’ that easily, the relationship they show in their videos are really geniune that it was hard to convince me otherwise.

People are mentioning other creators and genres not covered in the video and I think clip based channels like Delfy and NISLT also deserve a shoutout. While other channels showed personal gameplay, video essays, or animation, these guys perfectly show off the day to day hijinks of the game. An amazing video as always! For me, I think the future of TF2 RUclips lies in storytelling. You can already see it now- the challenge videos you talked about are less about the challenge and more about the story the creator has to tell about it. That's exactly why people enjoyed the Bing Soy video so much. It really had nothing to do with TF2, it just happened to be where the story takes place. As long as people have stories to tell about the game, I think it will continue to live.
Jerma and ster never had beef really, they had a little misunderstanding after a DnD game but there wasn't any real animosity between them, jerma just thought it was a good time to pull a joke because some people actually thought they had a fight. I remember this really emotional ster stream once they finally pulled up the joke after years of their fake feud. He mentioned how mean some people where to him because "jerma couldn't be the bad one" or someone like that so a lot of folks went after him. Kind of sad that people still believe they stop being friends for a while
it always makes me upset when i feel like people don't give ster the credit he deserves. I know there are tons of jerma fans who have no idea about the legacy those two harbored on youtube. And it sucks there are a ton of people that still hang on one regretful comment ster made in like 2018
Why do you act like you know them personally. It was very obvious that they actually were on bad terms during the worst part of their situations. But as grown adults, they made up, and are friends again. Stop talking outta your ass.
They purposely forget because, Star interest started to wane with the lack of support & content TF2 was getting. Like many other creators. There also the fact that Star wanted branch out a bit to make different content aside from the usual TF2 videos. So he would put crazy effort into some videos that sadly would receive much attention compared with to TF2. Now you got this bucket of Chucknuts doing the whole “Jerma doing way better than Ster” routine. All without even checking/updating himself on anything they do. People don’t want respect their friendship all because he Star “left TF2” all those years ago.
I know, many people have been going "why would muselk change his content from TF2?!" and "WHY WOULD HE CHANGE HIS CONTENT, I miss the old muselk man..." but honestly, when he began to play overwatch and became a "variety content" youtuber, i was quite happy for him, as he has changed to try and play and record more of what he really wanted to post and what could be popular these days... and i understand that he had tried TF2 and commented on what the state of it is, but im just really glad that he had stopped playing and changed so he didnt fall into the whole "TFTUBER" and forced to play the game... thanks muselk for changing, and thanks Party for making this amazing video
As a newer fan I always thought that the production quality of these videos and the perseverance of the TF2 community were inherent. Thank you for helping me learn the history of the TF2 community.
I really liked the editing and the use of instrumental versions of the OK Human songs PS: I had to stop watching the video halfway through to listen to OK Human lol
Just have to quickly say the first vtuber wasn't actually Funke but instead was Jerma, who did a vtuber video about a year prior when playing Five Nights at Freddy's and pretending to be a character called Demon Lord Zeraxos (who I actually have a card of from Jerma's new trading card game lol)
Jerma and Star_ were the true golden age. Nobody has ever or will ever make content as entertaining and thoughtful as theirs. The progression of specifically their tf2 content from beginning to end is unmatched.
Even outside of the tf2 content they were goated. I don’t got the time to watch his streams (or any for that matter) and the clips just don’t hit the same.
So Funke, who plans out his points, isn't as thoughtful as people just talking while playing? I'm just trying to figure out what you're on about. I love a gameplay vid but that's not like, thoughtful.
There are two distinct groups of tf2 content. One is the "normal" gameplay content (this video), and the other is the SFM/Gmod animation community with its own very long history, culture and stories.
I think the only thing missing is what a boon GMOD / SFM animators were to TF2 prior to essays being a thing. A whole host of custom game modes came straight from many of these animators and folks like Stblackst, Eltorro64, and a host of others still rake in millions of views with their stuff. Honestly worth a video on its own.
Lazy purple, Uncle Dane and Soundsmith are the goats of tfTobers, last year their videos got me to download the game, and i've been playing ever since I know im a bit late to the party as the game is 16 years old, and the bot problem kind of ruined the game, i still have no regrets with 750h of play time, so i can say its the best game i ever played
@@Tyranto3030 my point was I didn't like how the video was painting them as dead, even though they weren't and still active to this day. I also don't really like the shade they're throwing towards soundsmith about variety content too.
@@fritzvanhalen1359 he uses a picture of soundsmith's video talking about the TF2 trap for content creators and was super dismissive about it and essentially victim blaming content creators who wanted to branch out. It rings really hollow and it goes to show that he didn't watch soundsmith's video at all. Soundsmith has made his own video-essay style content, and it's on par with Lazy purple and Uncle Dane's content, so the fact he uses soundsmith's variety content video whilst never talking about his content just rings really hollow to me, because soundsmith isn't just some no-name nobody. He popularized an entire PLAY STYLE. It just feels like a petty jab at creators who didn't want to be stuck doing TF2 for their entire lives, soundsmith being one of them.
I think you should have mentioned some of the even older TF2 RUclipsr starters. Icytoonie being one of the earliest TF2 commentary youtuber, and followed that with Shibby. Shibby even actually help promote Star when he just started off. And I still remember Shibby threw a little shade towards Icy for disappearing out of the blue. Obviously Star and Jerma became the biggest that we know of early on, but Shibby and Icytoonie were early pioneers of the TF2 commentary for RUclips. Also small correction, but Jerma and Ster didn't have that big of a fallout. Turned out to be very small and they were actually friends again pretty fast. Jerma did this big live meet up thing with Star too when things seemed quiet between them, it was a big surprise for the community.
Oh man, this was a really nostalgic video, I remember whenever I saw Star_ or Jerma posted a new video I'd just stop anything I was doing to watch them. But you left out the whole Gmod/SFM side of the community which was also huge back in the day and still lives on, I've even seen some people commenting on how they never played TF2 but watch those videos because they like the characters, and in my case, the video that really got me interested in playing TF2 at all was Kitty0706's "Team Fabulous 2" Anyways, I don't think neither TF2 nor it's community is going anywhere anytime soon, we still get new TF2 content everyday and it generates a lot of engagement, from the "TF2 Funny moments" types of videos to TF2 animated videos by channels like Eltorro, STBlackST, ceno0, Fortress Films and so many others. Hell, even my channel saw pretty decent growth in the last months and I've just started, the TF2 community is alive and vibrant m8, if Valve decided to actually care for this game it would easily give Overwatch, Fortnite and other cartoony wacky shooters a run for their money.
I dont play the game nearly as much but the characters memes and all the goofyness that comes out of the game is what keeps me invested and keeps me from selling my items i have to create foreskin scout among others
Lazy Purple is like the tarrasque of TF2 RUclips. He enters a deep sleep for what feels like forever. However when he does finally wake back up, it's a major thing
I remember learning a majority of my english from watching Star_ and Jerma videos back in the day, i can still go back to the old ones and go "oh hey, i finally understand this joke"

We at Fake Taxi 2 would like to apologize for accidentally copying the joke at 3:53 into our video "Medic's Hidden Playstyle" , we hadn't realized this until now so we apologize.
Star_ was what got me into tf2 back in 2014, I was a 11 year old with nothing better to do. Now I’m gonna be 20 in a month and still playing with over 5k hours, some ugc, playing with big joey. My biggest bucket list in gaming was checked off as I got to play with and pocket the voice actor the scout. So many happy memories. As I was man once said,” IM STILL STANDIN, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH”
I'm surprised you didn't mention Soundsmith and his Stereotypes series. That was my favourite TF2 RUclipsr way back when and I can still go back and watch them for a good laugh.
Great video, doesn't drag on in any spots, and kept me drawn in throughout. It's shocking to see another TF2 RUclips Rennisaence despite the lack of updates.
I think a good example of newer channels since lazy has been on hiatus would be the group efforts of FishStickonaStick, Great Blue, TheWhatShow, and the rest of their Chucklenuts crew.
Seeing new faces of the TF2bers got me nostalgic, remembering the good and wacky stuff the old faces did (Jerma, Star, Muselk, Scottjaw, etc.) I'm glad new faces start to fill their shoes, all I say Keep up the good work and it will pay out. I'm still looking for someone that can fill in the Father Figure Mr.Paladin, but his kids can suffice. KEEP IT UP WITH THE GOOD WORK! AND HAVE FUN DOING IT
I mean... For me as an animator, just because you can animate anything else, doesn't mean you must. My childhood game deserved to be portrayed in ever way is possible. At least till my heart still burns with it :) And it might not die for a long time... time will tell :)
I'm surprised you did not talk that much about the sfms people have made as much. Like Fortress films that made a whole entire movie that's really well done all in sfm. But it's still a fantastic video!
Nah the disrespect to star in this video... jerma and star did not have a falling out, that was a 1 day argument, genuinely star and jerma just eventually branched off to greater things, they make collabs and stream together even till this day, smh obviously not caught up with the jerma lore It was inevitable that many of these creators moved on to other things anyways, like jerma and ster, bland TF2 commentary gameplay videos could have only gone so far until it felt like beating a dead horse, and frankly would have been a major waste of their talents, I'm glad they transitioned over to streaming. And I'll have u know star has a healthy streaming career 😤
As someone who started playing tf2 in 2021, it’s really interesting to hear about all the tf2 content from the past years. This was a really informative and well made video! The ending with all the new content creators being featured was really good! I also wanna mention the channel TonyF2 there’s only 3 videos but the videos are really fun and well made
i first started seeing tf2 with seeing meet the spy and i saw those caracters and then i realise the caracters i see in most animations are from this game and that video was actually funny too then i started watching the rest of the meet the team and then i see lazypurple's how it feels to play engineer and i loved it after like 2 months of watching lazypurple and other tf2 content i saw a video of my favorite FNaF youtuber just uploaded a video about tf2 after seeing that i didn't beieved a game like this can't die so i downloaded it and at my first match there is 2 bots at the enemy team spawncamping us (map is dustbowl) so i tried and tried and then i remembered the medic has ubercharge so i healed until i get my uber and while i was doing my entire team was doing a conga and i was enjoying it even though we are losing but then i get my uber ubered a random player and it worked we capped the first point and we went to second point with dancing itt was my most magical memory and after like 2 weeks i didn't even realised i was playing the shit out of it tf2 is the only thing in this life that actually makes me smiles while doing it and now i make other new players have fun by being friendly, A posing or just letting them get my kills...
I've only ever made the one tf2 video but when I get a better set up I want to make more because the community was very kind in responce to it and I love the friends I made because of them
kinda sad that soundsmith wasn't even mentioned, as he still does gameplay videos, with the occasional video essay, and has his own way of making variety content. also Quee Quey is a very good upcoming youtuber. also members of the chucklenuts group of youtubers are pretty good and they'll probably come far in the future, although they don't focus on the super high quality of other youtubers, they bring new ideas to the community. also people like solar light and big joey are cool. there's also the entire comp tf2 youtube thing which is quite unique. and there are new video essayests out there like johtohil2 and pride_, there's also the mvm side with weezy. then there's fish stick on a stick making good content too.
As a rather new player to TF2 but a veteran to gaming as a whole, what TF2 has to offer is something no other game could bring, mainly because the big developers, the ones who could, don't even consider it. I've been playing TF2 for little and I can already confidently say it's one of the best examples of what a game can and should bring to it's players: Fun. The community is so understanding of what they play a game for that it's quite hard to actually not have fun in the game. Casual in TF2 is still what casual gaming was back in the 2000s, it's what's left of the people who played purely to have some good, goofy fun. Sure you may find sweaties, and tryhards and whatnot, but your average TF2 player, as good as he may be, will often drop their hardcore gaming for just pure fun. Like, tell me how many games will bring a game of 20 people to conga all together, or spam taunts, or just kill themselves in an endless loop. How many games allow you to challenge each other in a deathly RPS match. Yeah, that's right. We also gotta keep in mind this is an old days multiplayer game. Community servers and modded servers are a thing here, so not only do you have a place for casual, noobies and chill players, you also have a place for those die-hard fans, for people who wants to have a "family" around the game, and with the community being as chill as it is, TF2 is THE game to do these things. Look, we all may be mad at Valve not releasing any new content, but I can confidently say I've got mad respect for them just for the barrage of games they created. They've got CS:GO for the sweaty and hardcore games, L4D2 for the more niche gamers who like to sweat but also enjoy crazy shit on their screen, Portal and Half-Life for the core of gaming with their mad stories and refined single-player gameplay, and TF2, for gamers who want to have PURE FUN, no matter how. I don't see TF2 dying anytime soon. It doesn't matter how old the game is or how many generations come thru, humanity NEEDS a game like TF2, a game which satisfies the needs of most people at some point of their lives, a chill, goofy and chaotic place to just forget about the harshness of life and drop it all for some good laughs and fun in it's purest state.
i mean, i dont think that overwatch and tf2 can even be compared at this point, the 2 games are really good in many ways, but mostly not the same. i love tf2, i love overwatch, as a 2000 hours tf2 man, and 1400 in overwatch man, i think i can confidently say that, yes, they both are really good games, and i recomand every fan of ovewtach go try tf2, and every tf2 man try overwatch. cause hating on something because all persons around you hates it, i like the dumbest thing you could ever do, heck, you could even find it so good that it will become your new after work chill game. if you want to try on of them, you should not try to compare it to each other but more think of it to like, just a new game that could be fun. i mean there is no point on hating on something for no reasons, heck ! even ovewatchs devs said in stream they would love a colab with tf2 cause they love that game. so, try it, you may like it. btw, sorry for the bad gramar, i aint a native english speaker
7:15: If you mean to say that Dane popularized the format within TF2, then sure. However, if you mean in all of RUclips, Matthewmatosis popularized the format years before Dane did. If it goes even further back that would be news to me.
It’s the history of tf2 RUclips Dane definitely didn’t popularise it on RUclips as a whole. He might have had effect on people outside of the community but he means in terms of the tf2 content community
Very well made video, I quite enjoyed it. As someone who was always quite into following FUNKe and his content, I can’t l help but appreciate the music choice through the video, due to his influence, as I’m sure is similar with others. It’s wild to see how many TF2 players appreciate Weezer, and I can’t help but imagine this one guy had some influence in that (granted, I know the last track is No Surprises, but I only found Radiohead through Ok Human, so it’s still cause of him, in a roundabout way).
TF2 will probably be alive for way longer than we think with old videos from FUNKe, Uncle Dane, Lazy Purple, and Mr. Paladin then new videos from every RUclipsr listed and some others like Jontohil2
I’ve been watching sfms for some years now and I always loved them. I only just now this year started to make some. one of the greatest things about the tf2 community is how it never dies. the community keeps it alive and always puts out great content. it truly is one of a kind game
ster and jerma are still friends now btw. they had a fake rivalry and falling out but they still do some content together, most recent big event he did was feb of last year during jermas "Who Will Replace Me?" stream
ive been here since around the Uber Update, back when i was in middle school even (more specifically the minor patch of The Gordbort weapons pack!) and ive gotta say. these are pretty spot on. a lot of this current generation of TF2ubers are definitely showing promise too. People like Great Blue, TheWhatShow, SpaceGuyOnline, and all the others in their little group known as "Chucklenuts" have been some of my more favorite content in a good while, and while not living up to the same status of Lazy, Ster_, Jerma or Dane, they try their best with what they are given and just... have fun with it!
This video has legit made me tear up. And I haven't been here for that long either! I downloaded the game in 2019 but my pc couldn't run it, so I've only started playing this year. Even with those puny 200 hours I have in it, being a noob in every class, the community has made such a great inpact on me that even now I can't imagine what my life would be with out it. When I was a kid I only knew about TF2 from my friends who had computers at that time, I watched all the animations, heard all the songs. Back then I loved the game without even playing it. So when I finally could start playing, I truly started to understand the community. TF2 isn't just a timeless mastepiece, it is a piece os history, it is a moment which continues to influence the lives of many people even to this day. The game will live aslong as the community does, and once they are gone, it will mark the end of an era. Also Heavy update when?
I remember the first time I found TF2 on RUclips in 2013 with Meet the Heavy. I then found the Gmod animations, and really enjoyed STAR_ and Jerma's channels. As the years progressed, I liked RUclipsrs like Uncle Dane, FUNKe, and ArraySeven. I took a break from the game, but I came back really enjoying new channels like shounic and FishStickOnAStick.

Why do you act like you know them personally. It was very obvious that they actually were on bad terms during the worst part of their situations. But as grown adults, they made up, and are friends again. Stop talking outta your ass.
@@DoctorUberpeople forget how huge star was for tf2. There will never be a content creator for tf2 like star
This video is so well produced. You can really feel that the creator put a lot of time into making it entertaining!

I really liked the editing and the use of instrumental versions of the OK Human songs
PS: I had to stop watching the video halfway through to listen to OK Human lol
Thankfully I'm here to save the community

I've read this comment in LTG's voice due to your prfile pic, lol
So Funke, who plans out his points, isn't as thoughtful as people just talking while playing? I'm just trying to figure out what you're on about. I love a gameplay vid but that's not like, thoughtful.
There are two distinct groups of tf2 content. One is the "normal" gameplay content (this video), and the other is the SFM/Gmod animation community with its own very long history, culture and stories.
This video is really moving, I thought of starting tf2 videos for a long time, this might be the push I needed.
Might as well
The touhou and tf2 community are oddly intertwined with each other
I think the only thing missing is what a boon GMOD / SFM animators were to TF2 prior to essays being a thing. A whole host of custom game modes came straight from many of these animators and folks like Stblackst, Eltorro64, and a host of others still rake in millions of views with their stuff. Honestly worth a video on its own.
I am so happy whenever original content like this comes up, i cannot figure out how people can still think of such interesting concepts for videos!
I love how every popular tf2 video manages to include a radiohead bit or joke now, so proud of this community
Man, i only picked up TF2 last year, and I now feel like I've been a part of this community for my entire life.
Long live TF2.
It’s the best community!!!!
yo this vid was amazing. thanks for having me a part of this!!
I still genuinely miss tf2 muselk
Ngl when I go back and watch his old stuff I can’t believe he was the face of the community
Lazy purple, Uncle Dane and Soundsmith are the goats of tfTobers, last year their videos got me to download the game, and i've been playing ever since
I know im a bit late to the party as the game is 16 years old, and the bot problem kind of ruined the game, i still have no regrets with 750h of play time, so i can say its the best game i ever played
It was a good video, but I really don't like how they talk about how dane, lazy purple and soundsmith are dead youtubers
@@kazulitheseawing3284 no they really aren't.
@@Tyranto3030 my point was I didn't like how the video was painting them as dead, even though they weren't and still active to this day. I also don't really like the shade they're throwing towards soundsmith about variety content too.
@@kazulitheseawing3284 how have they been painted as dead? Heck soundsmith didn't even get mentioned so I'm not sure what you're saying.
10 years of on and off tf2 flash before my eyes as i watch this
The TF2 community has to be the most loyal community I’ve ever seen

Love the video bro :)))
Using weezer as a background music is the most tf2-tuber thing i've ever heard
Jerma did this big live meet up thing with Star too when things seemed quiet between them, it was a big surprise for the community.
yeah acces gamer was also huge, there wear also a bunch of machinima guys i cant remember the name of or mechatheslag and the giant maxof2d drama
Great video. I've been in the community since around 2012, this is a very solid summary,
Don't think no one noticed the instrumental for "All my favorite songs" by Weezer playing in the background.
Oh man, this was a really nostalgic video, I remember whenever I saw Star_ or Jerma posted a new video I'd just stop anything I was doing to watch them.
But you left out the whole Gmod/SFM side of the community which was also huge back in the day and still lives on, I've even seen some people commenting on how they never played TF2 but watch those videos because they like the characters, and in my case, the video that really got me interested in playing TF2 at all was Kitty0706's "Team Fabulous 2"
Anyways, I don't think neither TF2 nor it's community is going anywhere anytime soon, we still get new TF2 content everyday and it generates a lot of engagement, from the "TF2 Funny moments" types of videos to TF2 animated videos by channels like Eltorro, STBlackST, ceno0, Fortress Films and so many others.
Hell, even my channel saw pretty decent growth in the last months and I've just started, the TF2 community is alive and vibrant m8, if Valve decided to actually care for this game it would easily give Overwatch, Fortnite and other cartoony wacky shooters a run for their money.
This video is really well edited, well done.
Also, the OK Human in the background is a nice touch.
Honestly Jerma985 and STAR_ were my favourites TF2 channels during the 2010s era.
SFM/gmod animators the unsung heroes carrying TF2 on their back for 16 years
Also the sub-community with almost 0 drama. It just full meme ahead .
I know I'm a little biased about this video because I'm in it but I genuinely do love this! (Especially at the end with Jalon XD)
using ok human as the background music here fits so well
The guy at 19:05 raises some compelling points
so true
I remember learning a majority of my english from watching Star_ and Jerma videos back in the day, i can still go back to the old ones and go "oh hey, i finally understand this joke"
Linky links to the channels at the end, because RUclips's search isn't kind to some of them.

I am absolutely baffled Soundsmith wasn't a mention in this vid. Hes hands down my favorite TfTuber
Yeah he did revive the game quite a bit if I remember correctly. A new concept can go a long way in a content-desert like today's TF2.
Shibby2142 snubbed too

I didn't realize until half way through that this video was posted 12hours ago
I cant play very many class shooters because i just really enjoy spy. No other game can quite capture the allure of spy gameplay like tf2
I’ve not seen any other game actually capture the unique nature of how spy plays in tf2
Owerwatch killed tf2 so much that it became owerwatch 2, next thing you know they'll add hats and implement wider community support
Who killed who?
I'm surprised you didn't mention Soundsmith and his Stereotypes series. That was my favourite TF2 RUclipsr way back when and I can still go back and watch them for a good laugh.
Great video, doesn't drag on in any spots, and kept me drawn in throughout. It's shocking to see another TF2 RUclips Rennisaence despite the lack of updates.
Also, just noticed the melody for No Surprises around 17:00 nice touch.
I was looking down the line except up and got surprised
I think a good example of newer channels since lazy has been on hiatus would be the group efforts of FishStickonaStick, Great Blue, TheWhatShow, and the rest of their Chucklenuts crew.
Ah yes, the scrap scrapers
Jk, kinda not tho
Lol
Seeing new faces of the TF2bers got me nostalgic, remembering the good and wacky stuff the old faces did (Jerma, Star, Muselk, Scottjaw, etc.) I'm glad new faces start to fill their shoes, all I say Keep up the good work and it will pay out. I'm still looking for someone that can fill in the Father Figure Mr.Paladin, but his kids can suffice. KEEP IT UP WITH THE GOOD WORK! AND HAVE FUN DOING IT
Funke put a generation onto weezer
Why did he have to do this to us 😞
Facts
I love the whole video, and I love that you added Jalon to the last part
I mean... For me as an animator, just because you can animate anything else, doesn't mean you must. My childhood game deserved to be portrayed in ever way is possible. At least till my heart still burns with it :) And it might not die for a long time... time will tell :)
I had loved just watching tf2 gmod movies, yes, 2007-2012 was a good time for that.
i am soo glad this vid got recommended. took my down memory lane of tf2 and im glad the tf2 community is strong. truly inspiring.

I'm surprised you did not talk that much about the sfms people have made as much. Like Fortress films that made a whole entire movie that's really well done all in sfm. But it's still a fantastic video!
Nah the disrespect to star in this video... jerma and star did not have a falling out, that was a 1 day argument, genuinely star and jerma just eventually branched off to greater things, they make collabs and stream together even till this day, smh obviously not caught up with the jerma lore
It was inevitable that many of these creators moved on to other things anyways, like jerma and ster, bland TF2 commentary gameplay videos could have only gone so far until it felt like beating a dead horse, and frankly would have been a major waste of their talents, I'm glad they transitioned over to streaming.
And I'll have u know star has a healthy streaming career 😤
Bro this the first time I've legitimately laughed at a RUclips vid in a while good work keep it up
As someone who started playing tf2 in 2021, it’s really interesting to hear about all the tf2 content from the past years. This was a really informative and well made video! The ending with all the new content creators being featured was really good!
I also wanna mention the channel TonyF2 there’s only 3 videos but the videos are really fun and well made
gotta love the weezer music
i first started seeing tf2 with seeing meet the spy and i saw those caracters and then i realise the caracters i see in most animations are from this game and that video was actually funny too then i started watching the rest of the meet the team and then i see lazypurple's how it feels to play engineer and i loved it after like 2 months of watching lazypurple and other tf2 content i saw a video of my favorite FNaF youtuber just uploaded a video about tf2
after seeing that i didn't beieved a game like this can't die so i downloaded it and at my first match there is 2 bots at the enemy team spawncamping us (map is dustbowl) so i tried and tried and then i remembered the medic has ubercharge so i healed until i get my uber and while i was doing my entire team was doing a conga and i was enjoying it even though we are losing but then i get my uber ubered a random player and it worked we capped the first point and we went to second point with dancing itt was my most magical memory and after like 2 weeks i didn't even realised i was playing the shit out of it
tf2 is the only thing in this life that actually makes me smiles while doing it
and now i make other new players have fun by being friendly, A posing or just letting them get my kills...
I've only ever made the one tf2 video but when I get a better set up I want to make more because the community was very kind in responce to it and I love the friends I made because of them

He was tired of the game. Look at some of his last tf2 uploads. The bingo vid is a good example of how boring the game felt to him
Grateful to be part of something so special, a game that's survived for so long
kinda sad that soundsmith wasn't even mentioned, as he still does gameplay videos, with the occasional video essay, and has his own way of making variety content. also Quee Quey is a very good upcoming youtuber. also members of the chucklenuts group of youtubers are pretty good and they'll probably come far in the future, although they don't focus on the super high quality of other youtubers, they bring new ideas to the community. also people like solar light and big joey are cool. there's also the entire comp tf2 youtube thing which is quite unique. and there are new video essayests out there like johtohil2 and pride_, there's also the mvm side with weezy. then there's fish stick on a stick making good content too.
Good script, great editing, has Weezer & Radiohead backing tracks for the entire video. 10/10
at 1:57 the song playing is a remix/cover (idk) of aloo gobi by weezer from the album ok human.
Also, most of the other songs on this vid are also from the weezer album.
i mean, i dont think that overwatch and tf2 can even be compared at this point, the 2 games are really good in many ways, but mostly not the same. i love tf2, i love overwatch, as a 2000 hours tf2 man, and 1400 in overwatch man, i think i can confidently say that, yes, they both are really good games, and i recomand every fan of ovewtach go try tf2, and every tf2 man try overwatch. cause hating on something because all persons around you hates it, i like the dumbest thing you could ever do, heck, you could even find it so good that it will become your new after work chill game. if you want to try on of them, you should not try to compare it to each other but more think of it to like, just a new game that could be fun. i mean there is no point on hating on something for no reasons, heck ! even ovewatchs devs said in stream they would love a colab with tf2 cause they love that game. so, try it, you may like it.
btw, sorry for the bad gramar, i aint a native english speaker
7:15: If you mean to say that Dane popularized the format within TF2, then sure. However, if you mean in all of RUclips, Matthewmatosis popularized the format years before Dane did. If it goes even further back that would be news to me.
It’s the history of tf2 RUclips Dane definitely didn’t popularise it on RUclips as a whole. He might have had effect on people outside of the community but he means in terms of the tf2 content community
Yes I meant for TF2
The ending to those video really gave me hope for the community, and I can't wait to get back to making content for the game
lets goo happy to see a familiar face in the comets love your content dude
TF2 is still such a hot topic.
I love it.
I played ultrakill after he recommended it and I have been obsessed since I'm not very good at it but it's fun
A good video essay. I wish you luck in your future endeavors. You have my support:)
Just got to wait till the mods go crazy in the workshop
TFTubers will come and go, but the community's love for the game will always be a constant
I'm surprised he didn't mention the 10 stages of a *blank* main. I love that series. It brought me into the game
It's criminal that RUclipsrs like Solerlightt, Soundsmith, and dewill didn't get mentioned
Fuck Solar and SoundSmith
ster and jerma are still friends now btw. they had a fake rivalry and falling out but they still do some content together, most recent big event he did was feb of last year during jermas "Who Will Replace Me?" stream
ive been here since around the Uber Update, back when i was in middle school even (more specifically the minor patch of The Gordbort weapons pack!) and ive gotta say. these are pretty spot on. a lot of this current generation of TF2ubers are definitely showing promise too.
Very much enjoy the Okay Human background music throughout the whole video
I like that you intentionally left Soundsmith out because Soundsmith isn't real
Dude, you're so underrated for your video quality, I don't understand how you have that little subscribers.
The age of tf2 funny clip montages era 2021-2023 and still going...
