Love that were getting more Witness content. Clarification at 8:20, Mara is saying that the Witness can't create its true ideal of TFS w/o the Light & that it must hate to rely upon the being it loathes
I think we're on our third or fourth origin story for the Vex at this point, but this is a fun one! Lots of interesting stuff in this collector's edition!
I fukin love this guy. I don't know why people are not watching myelin. Actually I do. He's too honest and genuine. Which I really appreciate but RUclips needs characters and performance to speak with and reach out to the general viewers who flick and need constant stimulation. They don't like just listening and being informed they need to be entertained. I'm sorry for speaking generally but these are my thoughts on myelin's channel. And I think there is fewer real, sincere and honest people who actually appreciate a real person on the other side of the screen. Love you myelin.
I really liked the lore book, the sleeve it came in was a nice touch and I loved the spicy Ramen tickets and the picture of the vanguard at the farm that was in the autograph book
the "glass minds" term in the book & Eido's comment on it now solidifies my guess on the Vex being "golden age"-tech developed by the Witness' precursor people, a tech that may have went rampant. That ties back & explains the D1 moment from our Ghost saying the Vex refer to the Black Garden as "home" because: it literally has the progenitor materials of the Witness' people. It also sounds a lot like what they foresaw in their Observatory became a self-fulfilling prophecy after merging into the Witness & starting it's pursuit. All of what they feared only happened because of them! Also wonder if a relic of the Observatory became the concept of the Psions "OXA machine". The similarities to the Psions' psychological powers arent lost on me, esp. how their belief in the afterlife works (from that Psion lore book during Opulence). Maybe the Psions are the legacy of RS?!?
I think it would be really cool if the mechanics of the witness raid boss relied on you knowing lore, like perhaps you have to shoot certain symbols in a certain order regarding weaknesses that we've learned over the years or something.
The "Witness race" basically had their own version of Titans, Warlocks & Hunters. Or possibly New Monarchy, Dead Orbit & Future War Cult. 👀 Their civilization was basically an ancient version of what the Last City's society is now.. 🤔 Side Note: Rasputin really was a nonchalant bloody murderer 💀
I wonder if the Precursor civilization became aware of the Final Shape only after coming across the Veil, or if it was the only other question that didn't have an answer yet due to their advanced understanding of the universe (other than why the Traveler never spoke to them, of course).
I think there's slightly more nuance to the way The Witness attacks the species The Traveller has touched. Similar to the Eliksni's emotions on the subject. From their perspective The Traveller abandoned them and gave the light to Humanity. Now add you are the first species ever to be touched by the light and had said light to themselves for millennia. They would've seen The Traveller's departer as a collapse and a disgrace to their species (especially when they became The Witness) and make a grand exodus to find their God. Only to find that even though you made a huge sacrifice, it has blessed another species for the first time since being blessed themselves. I think The Witness would've reacted a lot like the Eliksni, seeing it as heretical and a huge betrayal to their species. Wanting to eradicate Humanity in horrible and vile way's to show The Traveller that they were still worthy but also to show The Traveller that they are superior to it's new chosen species. They would also wanted to show The Traveller all the hurt, pain, suffering and lose they had experience because of it's silence and neglect but also it's abandonment. I think there's still a part of The Witness that still wants to meet The Traveller. To finally communicate for the first time. Probably for reassurance in their beliefs or possibly guidance if what they are doing is correct, or even if any of their beliefs were correct at all. They say it cut out it's emotion's but from every cutscene it has been in The Witness has been really emotional.
I don't buy that bit about the witness despising the Traveler and it's creations. Like, don't get me wrong it might be canon now. But to many lines have been put in place about the Traveler and the Guardians being 'Magnificent' from the perspective of the Darkness and the Witness. Feels out of left field.
What about the paintings on the wall when Rohan sacrificed himself???. I think Rhulks ship contains more lore than we know. No one has covered those hieroglyphs. It’s very daunting to me.
We need the old mic and the old style of video " have the text on screen " just before final shape as a throw back. i would legit nutt imagine here me out though. the witness saw what would happen to the fallen in the future which is why they decided to enact the final shape
Does anyone still think destiny has lore? They've already left the game in which the entire narrative converges into a plot that ALWAYS leaves more questions, making you have to buy the sequel, I loved Destiny but for me it's over

when we needed him most, he returned. the goat myelin is back baby
I really enjoyed the collector’s edition. I wish there was a larger community puzzle, but the lore itself was good.
I’ve read this before and yet missed the big picture with the gardener/vex. Thanks for making this video and giving a general summary!
Love that were getting more Witness content.

Eido quadruple-handedly gathered more information on The Witness and its actions than anyone has done literally ever.
I think we're on our third or fourth origin story for the Vex at this point, but this is a fun one! Lots of interesting stuff in this collector's edition!
HE HAS RETUUUUUUURNED
I am really happy the Vex are getting explained within the lore of the Witness
It should be noted the Noesis (Gnosis) had previously been terrorized by a "Nightmare" -- most likely Nezarec.
The GOAT is back LETS GO!
Would love to see you cover the Helldivers Lore.
shout out to Eido, this lore book expands the Destiny universe and excites me to where Bungie is pushing after TFS
all this lore honestly sounds somewhat interesting. We'll see how it actually turns out but great video as always myelin :D
The fact the witness requires the knowledge and power it gained underneath the traveler must drive it bonkers 😂

Love you myelin.
Thanks for being my source for lore. I like the format.
Nice to see you back on D2 lore brother. Hope there’s more coming soon!

i would love to see the traveller finally communicate with the witness after all this time or even communicate to us

its a shame they put more time into the out of game merchandise than the actual game.
If I'm not mistaken, the Noasis were the race that provided the members of one of the more successful Oasis tribute bands.
I’d rather watch you over Byf any day tbh
