Brew2L you have the Grey Fox running good! Would you consider doing an updated NA Dragy on the Grey Fox before you put a supercharger or turbo on it? It would be awesome to have a base set of solid numbers to shoot towards for all us NA AOD's out there!
Been there with the coil issue also. Anytime I have to diagnose a car that has a skip and it has anything MSD/Accel/Mallory, or anything other than Ford Motorcraft for coil/ignition, I isolate those first, and 9/10 times it’s those aftermarket parts 👍
@@royrichardson9164 amen 💯. As I’ve stated in a few of my videos, especially my TFI distributor video, anything other than Ford leaves one unable to sleep at night.
I was watching Fox cast a few weeks ago. Dover made a joke that if there’s an ignition issue, to check anything with MSD on it first 😂. I had a random loss of spark when hot on my Windsor. It ended up being the pip sensor. Would fail when it got hot. It was a “brand new” reman distributor too. I ended up pressing it apart and putting a motorcraft unit in it. No issues since.

I went through three almost four distributors cause my Hatch would cut out once it would warm up, turned out to be the new tfi module on all three so I put my factory tfi on the new distributor and all is well.
I have a misfire until it warms up especially on cold mornings in my 88EFI Tbird. I drove it a week after each parts check and change. I change plugs and wires, the new distributor went bad, I changed coil, changed pvc screen, cleaned the tank and fuel system, IAC, compression check, valve check. If I have to replace the head gaskets, I'm taking it to you for engine rebuild.
I agree with the wires and plugs on misfire, but i never had a coil go bad on my Stang . Next month will be 30 years that i've own my 88 and had replaced the original coil back in 94 with an Accel brand one and it is still on it today and still running fine . the original one ended up on my 83 F100 and it power it just fine as it's original canister type did fail. And if you are very carefull on the injector plugs they can be removed with out breaking the clips. My car has 241K miles on it and i don't have any electrical issues. I reinstalled the original TFI modeule last week as the aftermarket Dyno Mod one finally failed after 15 or so years. Very few electrical issues that i had and that is to parts failure. Great video and good info . So far SO good. I'm in MI btw.
