Ahh this was so much fun to listen to! I was similar to you regarding horror when I was young but have since embraced it and now I love it. I read horror as well but I'm with you on the interruption thing. I knew about 14 of those but lots of interesting new things there. As you might remember from an online discussion, I have had night terrors too, although thankfully not for many years now. I have occasional dissociative problems too, usually in stressful situations. First time was a fight I had as a kid, where I felt like I was viewing myself from above and my body was just like a robot carrying out actions I had no control over. Sometimes get it when i'm teaching too, which is hard.

We have loads in common I'm terrified of ageing, I have a weird sleep thing that my friends told me I sometimes do which is sleep with my eyes open (terrifying thought), I had a pet ladybird called Dot when I was little but I let her go because my Mum told me I'd have to feed it green flies. I only have 11 teddies on my bed but one is a gigantic Cheshire Cat! ❤️

Ha, well I'm born in '82 and I don't remember almost anything from the 80s, so I always wanted to live through that decade, you know, like a teenager at least. I always fascinated the music and films and the whole culture of it. I guess we wish to have lived in just the previous decade of our teenage years, maybe because it is so close, it's almost as we have missed it.

Its not just dissociation. im midly autistic, have cPTSD and ive had a few dissociative episodes.
All of those caus feelings that fit that description, but for different reasons (and they are different feelings irl).

I have trouble with wondering if I’m real, spacing out etc, there was a rumour going around at my school that I was on drugs bc of this and I realised a couple of years back that it’s likely to be dissociation/depersonalisation disorder. I wouldn’t self diagnose but I’d check it out if I were you because what you described really sounds like it ❤️
When I turned 18 I felt like I lost my world. I'm 20 now and still wear the same ripped dirt grungy clothes when I was 13. I also refuse to grow up.
