Here's Mateusz Kowalski performing the Prelude from Lute Suite, BWV 1006a by Johann Sebastian Bach on a beautiful classical guitar built by Fritz Ober in 2007 with spruce top and maple back and sides. Recorded at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA.

I have his album. It's terrific but the beautiful tone you're hearing is how he's playing the 2007 Fritz Ober guitar. His albums use a different guitar.

Hey there folks try this. Listen to Mateusz play this and then listen to Augusin Hadelich play the same piece on the violin and then listen to Mateusz again. You will be even more impressed than before. Most people would never compare the violin and the guitar but with these two men you can. Absolutely amazing.

Once when I was a kid, I watched a seluloid recording of John Williams playing this repertoire in a church in Spain. And now listening to this melody again, delivered in such precision and beautiful dynamics, it melts my heart ♥ awesome work!

I never knew a guitar could sound this beautiful. With supplication to Djivan Gasparyan, there was one point in this performance where it was so seductive I felt like the guitar is the most beautiful sounding instrument I ever heard. Obviously, a big bow to Bach, Fritz Ober, and Mateusz Kowalski. I just downloaded Mateusz's albums on Roon. I'm stunned... but there's something about the warm amber sound of this 2007 Fritz Ober guitar that's truly special.

Eu discordo, acredito que qualquer um pode ficar bach nessa terra, acredito que até o próprio bach era um grande pecador. Por outro lado ele sempre dedicou sua obra a Deus, "Soli Deo Gloria". Agora ao vídeo, realmente essa interpretação é algo fenomenal.
