Outstanding. I wouldn't have thought it possible to guitar this piece without sacrificing much of its complexity. Organists use all of their fingers and their feet to both choose and execute each note (12 body parts making sound). A guitarist is generally limited to the fingers of one hand to choose notes while the fingers of the other hand execute them (only 5 body parts making sound). Yes, I'm aware of "hammering" to make notes/sound with the neck hand, which can be taken to the extreme as when playing a Chapman Stick, but generally guitar notes are chosen with one hand and played with the other. I was a musician for about 50 years, until arthritis stole it from me, this man amazed me. I was a cellist, a guitarist, and a half-assed pianist. Played classical with an orchestra and blues/rock with bands. I wasn't great, but I was pretty good, and have just enough knowledge to realize what an accomplishment this performance was. Watching his fingers (on both hands) is like watching a spider create an exceedingly complex web, and he did it with a calm ease that only seems possible with a less demanding piece.
I've been playing guitar for many many years, though I've just taken up classical guitar. This piece was astounding, and I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who thought of a spider when I watched his hands!
Excellent tip comment. Look into the stamens stack. Micro dose psilocybin, lions mane mushrooms, and naicin. You might be able to get you're finger moment back sir. Paul stamens mushroom researcher pioneered this and the scientific studies look really promising.
Chapeau! Vom Feinsten.
I am a guitarist and I was completely mesmerized by your playing. Thank you for bringing such perfection to my ears! Bravo. Your hard work, practice, and professionalism is much appreciated.
If I could 'like' this video 1 Billion times - I would do it right now. Moran Wasser shows us here that classical guitar still have room for incredible legends - he should have much wider recognition - what he does here, is not possible for almost all other guitarists. No kidding, I played all my life. This is super human.
None of the best guitarists are even comparable to each other due to skills being so divergent, and that no one yet can possess them all. That being said, this artist is phenomenal.
Never would have thought it possible to play this piece on a guitar. Must have taken months, years to perfect this. Incredible arrangement and musicianship. Thank you and bravo.
To perfect a piece it takes that time. Even little easy pieces to really master it could take time. It s about optimisation everytime... Even here with this 11 strings we got a bit too much doomy sound. But I m not sure he can do better. Maybe....maybe a bit in post prod also
Bach Catalogue is so huge also because he used to transcribe his works (and sometimes also those of others composers) for as many instruments he could figure out... That helped as one potential "customer" or benefactor for his music might be an amateur musician of one instrument, and one of another... And Bach always struggled to gain enough money to grow his family... I would not be surprised if this adaption was, in fact, by Bach himself
Unbelievable musicality beyond the technical prowess. It's hard to appreciate just how much work there is behind this. This transcription opens a whole new dimension to the piece, and it is truly marvellous to hear how the instrument is utilized to it's full expressive potential in it's own specificity. It's fair to say the composer would have loved to hear his music played like this. Sir you are one of the Greats.
This artist demonstrates the strange flexibilty that JSBach invites. It certainly brings out elements I didnt think about before. Much more than a transcription, its more that Bach left enough room for many instruments to shine. This certainly works for guitar. Thank you sir.
But why we even need any like Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, or any of those classical composers, today everyone is using their music, for base of their modern things, Heavy rock, pop even blues and such, Think about this one, Listen Synfonity, only electric quitars and basses, and it is suberb instrumental version in modern days instruments.
Incredible, I auditioned for college with Philliphii's rendition... This is so much more intricate and wonderful. I can't even comprehend what I'm seeing
It's amazing that you are able to play that fugue brilliantly technically and at the same time absolutely incredible musically. It almost sounds like this composition was composed for guitar. Incredible work. ❤❤❤
This recording caught my attention and I had to listen through it all. Amazingly well played, it is as if the piece was written for guitar. Exceptional. Hope to be able to listen to this super human live some day.
Kudos.
The touch, control, skills, taste, execution, sheer mastery, I have never heard, and seen, a better performance ever, one artist, one instrument, beauty.
Astonishing! I never thought this music could be played on guitar. The best guitarist I have ever heard. I beleive in reincarnation and to me this man must surely be JS Bach himself alive today. Thank you so much Mr Moran Wasser.😊😊😊😊 ❤
How much work, class and effort went into this absolute masterpiece. Thanks Moran for keeping guitar and the grand masters alive once again. Please let us know how we can help you progress your craft and work...
The time it only takes to arrange Bach‘s masterpiece for an 11 string guitar must be tremendous. What a gift to humanity both this arrangement and recording is. Thank you, Moran 🙏🏻
The most & arguably only truly, convincing guitar version aided by a guitar with adequate range and a performer with superb musicianship & flawless technique. Ordinarily I'd be hesitant about keyboard arrangements played on guitar but the campanella fingering & arpeggios sound genuinely idiomatic. Fantastic.
There are only two other classical guitarists that I consider to be on the same level as Moran and Alan you are one of them. If anyone has not heard Alan play Bach then check out his CD Sei Solo - it is a masterpiece.
Yep, probably one of the finest guitar performances ive watched in a very long time. Its hard to believe i can just be scolling and stumble upon such an incredible video. No words to tell you how good that was.
Absolutely wonderful. The dedication it took to learn, let alone play this, is something to behold. Praise be, my friend. To you, and of course Bach, without whom human existence may have been meaningless, if not an outright mistake!
This is too beautiful. I admire your arrangement and technique. If we add my fondness for thick notes, you are an incredible person for me. Thank you for sharing your music with us. Quite inspiring ✨👏👏
Fabulous, almost 8min of Bach done as Bach imagined it done solo on a guitar... On an another level of performance... Now I have to find a 11 string guitar...
Bravo! On en redemande! Merci.
oh... my .... God in heaven... this is soooo beautiful. The amount of pure focus and talent this must take to do this by memory. I don't see him using notation. This is a super human. I am simply astonished and completely humbled.
Sensational. Arrangement, execution, technique all outstandingly good. One of my favourite instrumentalists on any instrument. Why this man hasn’t got records out all over the world is a mystery. Bravo, Moran, and thank you.
I have watched many arrangements for this piece on guitar now, but absolutely not a single one stands close to this supremely sublime piece of art. Just pure joy for my eyes and ears.
The most amazing thing is that it doesn't sound like there is anything missing, it sounds completed, not reduced at all
I agree, sounds very cohesive and tight.
You are right, this is unbelievable
I never imagined this piece could ever be transcribed for guitar. Amazing.
look for Marcin Patrzalek transcription and performance on guitar. You will be shocked

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. It seems amazing from the outside, and then you point out how monumental this piece really is! Thank you!
My thoughts exactly. Well said

Words fail me. This is just incredible.
Yes, smooth, light and clean...but still with gentle grace and beautiful feeling throughout.
Which proves that the spirit of life and joy is still among us.
Js Bach himself would be in awe.
I'm sure he'd pick it apart (get it - pick it?) But seriously - no.
I don't think I've ever seen & heard such perfect technique and feeling.

This is the best guitarist I've ever heard.
Yeah, me too. Remarkable.
This guy is impressive, but Raphael Rabello a bit drunk playing Desvairada is unbeatable.
Yeah this is honestly pretty insane. Been playing for over 20yr and this dude is about as peak as it gets. His right hand is god tier.

Vielen Dank!
This man's playing was as relentless as the composition. We witnessed two liifetimes of accomplishment. Beautiful.
Wow. The arrangement is so perfect, it makes you think that is the instrument it should always have been played on.
absolutely my thoughts, the fingerings and style fall so naturally, it makes me think it was written for lute then transcribed for organ...
I think there's plenty of compositions written for the classical guitar/lute that were made by Bach.
@@daviddebroux4708there’s a few lute suites but there is some debate if Bach ever wrote for lute. (They may have been transcribed for lute)
Bach Catalogue is so huge also because he used to transcribe his works (and sometimes also those of others composers) for as many instruments he could figure out... Why is Moran Wasser not considered the greatest classical guitar player alive? He clearly is HIM.

The execution of this piece is truly astounding.
Words fall short in describing this man's ability, but his technical prowess is up there with the likes of the greatest classical players.
it's the first time I'm introduced to Moran Wasser's videos and it is my luckiest day in years!
