Let me give you advice. Turn off the Wi-Fi on your TV and turn off the automatic update firmware. Only use TV for "Picture Quality" and use a sound system. Never use the speaker. For streaming apps and everything, use a Amazon fire cube, Nvidia Shield or Apple TV etc. Reason why I suggested this because firmware updates will slow/ruin your TV and apps will say "Netflix is no longer available on this device". Alot of people go on about how QD-OLED has much better colours than WOLED and use that to say that this Samsung is better than the LG. Do you actually notice a difference in colour brightness/intensity/realism or whatever between them when at their best?
I have a Sony a95L (2023) QD OLED as well as a Sony A8H WOLED from 2020. Obviously the a95l is master series and the A8H is not and is 4 years old, but I do notice a big difference in color volume and brightness between the two. With an LG G4 you likely won’t notice as much of a difference with proper settings but colors will look (in my opinion) a more vibrant on a QD OLED vs WOLED. You can ramp up saturation on the LG to match vibrancy but the colors won’t be as natural anymore and the image won’t look as good (again in my opinion). If not being watched side by side with a QD OLED you’d never know the difference I don’t think. And the G4 has superior processing and upscaling vs any tv on the market except maybe the A95L. The MLA tech is pretty cool. I’d say the A95L is still the best all around tv on the market but LG is very very close and costs less. Just depends what you prefer. Clarity and sharpness (LG) or color pop (Samsung). Samsung has equal color pop to the A95L but lacks processing ability. The A95L is as close as you will get to both color and processing being top of class but then you don’t have all the gaming features of Samsung/LG if that’s important to you and paying way more. Tradeoffs no matter what tv you go with.
Got an S90D in the office and G4 in the living room. Watched the same 4k content and the LG seemed more color saturated and the S90D seemed a tad brighter which was crazy to me. But put the LG on quantums channel and it will magically become "washed out" and the only way to fix it is to pay $5 for his "master" calibration settings. You know because tvs today are calibrated to a 30 year old standard and no person on earth is capable of calibration like quantum is lol

The shootout isn’t really a real world consumer event. It’s for which calibrated tv best matches the Sony reference monitor and is judged by industry professionals. Again it’s not a real world comparison. A out of the box blind test with average people would be more useful for regular consumers
@@brokenwrench404 yea 100%, thats why i will never buy a TV based on these contests, generally get better information from RUclips and people like Paul.
C3/4 is probably the best TV for most. G4 is overkill for majority but if you want the best and are prepared to pay a lot more for a small improvement it's main competitor is from Sony.
I just went to Currys and saw both TV's for myself. I'm telling you now, the Samsung and even the Sony Bravia A95L picture quality are on another level. How are people saying the LG is better? I was watching a 4K video of cities at night and the difference in detail and sharpness was a league apart. Maybe its the QD-OLED. Way better picture, way better sharpness. I have to now decide if I want the Samsung or Sony. The Sony is my preferred choice, but it will cost me around 1K more (as I have to buy the sound bar too). The guy in Curry's said the Sony sound system is better than the Samsung.
Traded in 2 G4’s for the S95D. WOLED banding and panel issues are ludicrous at this stage, Qd Oled is far more reliable and I’ve not regretted it. Buyer beware with the G4.
LG G4 has banding issues ? What can I expect in such problems... can u pls elaborate for me so that while buying I can recreate it and make a informed decision.
Maybe it's really the WOLED banding and panel lottery that's the real problem because I have a 77" G4 and have zero issues in these regards, certainly not that I have noticed and I actively look for issues with the products that I buy, especially those that cost this much!
@@jpxmodzI’d be very careful of folks like this. People are actively ignoring the G4’s issues. Check the forums of real owners and you’ll get the full story.

Can the sound thing be associated with down-firing speakers just over a carpet vs a wall mounted situation. Agree that in any case you should add other sound systems
Just bought a S90D for 1200 at that price ots performance is unbeatable and if you know how to calibrate the setting it looks insane i havent got any of that pink hue off large white areas something is off in your setting maybe messed with the gamut or something
When it comes to TVs (or even audio Gear), always buy the predecessors and save yourself 20%. Apart from the odd feature here are there.. 90% of the time, it's basically the same unit anyway
It saves money though the lg g3 cant handle 144 hz gaming, has less brightness in gaming and motion is better on g4, even without cinematic motion.. But most of the time upgrades year to year are small.
@@masomafYeah, I think the last two biggest upgrades were the 2.1 for you gamers and the enhanced audio return channel (e-arc) for people like myself who prefer quality audio.
Hello, thank you for your work. Dont fotgetbthet thd g4 is perfectly calibrated when buying. So it would be interesting if you calibrated the samsung with a sond, the result is much better for Samsung.
I have the s95d. Its an awesome tv. I can game the new star wars outlaws doing the day and dark scenes are amazing. Its something I couldn't do before with my phillips oled. Its so pleasing as I mostly work evenings. I have calibrated the tv a little as it did show reds a bit unnatural. After calibration its amazing. I like it in the cold instead of standard or warm
@ Samsung have its own, where you use the camera of your phone. I used both my iPhone 15 pro and Samsung s23 and I have to say IPhone does the best calibration. You use the smart things app and connect the tv to the app and then go to calibration. It can be tricky to find for some models
Standard mode on Samsung is going to be vastly off because it boosts the colors too much. Switch to Movie or FMM and the pink is gone. Standard mode is so inaccurate that one should never use the picture mode.
I have the 55" and it's phenomenal. Games look amazing on it and it's smooth ad butter. The hdr is amazing on pc also. I was on the fence but have absolutely no regrets. I have the CX and had the qd oled 32" MSI and Aorus. Both of those are great but this tv blows em away
Sounds like the biggest difference is the white balance and the settings and you can tweak them. Neither of these has the lovely ambilight of my philips 808 which adds something to the picture. Processing is certainly important. Right now my philips 808 (uses LG c3 midrange panel) easily beats my LG C9 easily for HD TV content and RUclips I have in another room. But not with Disney plus where the LG picture is amazing and philips merely very good. Processing makes a big difference. Default settings vary a lot between the brands. Philips default is amazing with some stuff and awful with others, set up to wow you! and if you're not willing to customise do not buy a philips. But once customised is really nice. LG tends to set TV up for more natural picture. LG Software and apps are very good. LG probably a very safe bet for most. They've been making oled panels for a long time now and know how to get the best from them. Well made. Got 3 in the family about 4 to 6 years old and no issues with any of them (earliest being C8), had lots of issues with C6/7 burnin initially. But none on any of our sets. Even been using the 55 C9 as a computer monitor and with games console.
Everything says LG makes better OLED tv’s but I have boycotted LG for life. I got a Samsung S90D and couldn’t be more happy. LG build quality, OS, Remote, Brand Reputation >>> Samsung
for me g4 hands down I notice something on my c3 can not change the colour gamat but when playing black myth a sdr game I can change to BT.1886 don't understand why lg choose to do this
Samsung’s Vivid mode is the ugliest in the industry. I would have liked to have seen a comparison of LG’s Cinema versus Samsung’s Movie mode, both at Max Brightness.
I’ve owned both LG oled & Samsung. You can’t go wrong with either but on a uniformity level Samsung was far superior for me. My time with LG was blighted by pink & yellow tint on a white background which for me was super distracting. My current 77S95c has the best full field uniformity I’ve seen. To iron out any motion issues just set judder to +2/3. Also I’ve had mine professionally calibrated & the overall image is a thing of beauty. He does make a valid point in the video.. for some reason QOLED shows up a slightly reddish tint on camera but it’s not visible in real time viewing.
I have an 83" G4 and a 77" S90C. I have the judder set to +2. Its perfectly fine but still has some soap opera and the motion definitely isn't as smooth and refined as the G4. Maybe the S95D is better? Not sure.
Shame you had an LG panel with poor uniformity. I have a 77" G4 and I'm not aware of any issues or any off-angle tinting folk talk about. I tend to be very exacting about what I buy but I don't see any problems in this regard, with my unit at least.
@@trevhib I had 3 LG exchanges. Even the fourth I settled on had slight pink tint & noticeable banding & it’s very distracting. One panel I had the pink tint covered nearly half the screen so when any snow scenes etc were showing it looked awful. It is all panel lottery of course but this was my first Samsung oled & it was the cleanest panel I’d ever seen with zero tinting & banding.
Samsung is over saturated makes me feel sick i went into a shop to see them side by side and would definitely take the g4 over s95d any day old tech or not they have done oled better for years and the screen warranty amazing also the matte screen deal breaker for me
Thanks for your videos. I much prefer LG, much more natural colors, excellent image quality, it seems great contrast and dynamics. Samsung good quality, but colors too exaggerated and unnatural.
QD-OLED you could probably tone the color down however much you want to be more natural , but the LG/WOLED you can never add more color to match the QD-OLED no matter what you do.
@@fawkkyutuu8851Very True I agree 100pct I rather have more where I can tone it down if I have too then try to crank up the color but won’t ever get get close to QD OLED colors and I’m saying that having both LG and Samsung
The Samsung S95D is the most maligned TV of 2024, this comparison is simply misleading because the color comparison cannot be based on standard mode without a minimum change to the settings. Another reason for hatred towards this TV is the matte coating, which in reality is absolutely not noticeable when there is little light or in a totally dark ambient. The picture quality on the Samsung is fantastic, I own the 77" and it's an amazing TV, totally love it!
Yuck! Always find cinema mode makes things tinted in yellow and look odd. Probably good for certain movies but not general TV viewing or gaming. Just shows how subjective picture is. Movie experts will tell you it's the best, also switch off motion smoothing. I like it on as hate jerkiness. So subjective.
Both are great but the Samsung has way more color depth and can be tuned to anyone’s preferences. Nevertheless I hate Samsung’s UI and if I had to buy one today, I would need to look in depth both live. I have one S95B and the UI is nasty, everything else is great!

@jman3081 what do you mean so what there no way he made the g4 look any way if he hit reset! The guy dumps on sony too but I used his settings for my a 95k and i gotta say I was surprised at the outcome. He is a jerk and samsung fan boy no doubt.
the lg g4 cam last out of the tv shootout 2024, the A96L and S95D was 1 point appart too close to call
Both are very good TVs 🙂
The shootout isn’t really a real world consumer event. It’s for which calibrated tv best matches the Sony reference monitor and is judged by industry professionals.
Again it’s not a real world comparison. A out of the box blind test with average people would be more useful for regular consumers
You do know it’s based on Reference monitor and not general viewing ?
@@brokenwrench404 yea 100%, thats why i will never buy a TV based on these contests, generally get better information from RUclips and people like Paul.
got my c3 55 inch this year for 854.99 & 5 year warranty the picture quality is amazing & sound my first oled tv for my ps5 & series x
C3/4 is probably the best TV for most. G4 is overkill for majority but if you want the best and are prepared to pay a lot more for a small improvement it's main competitor is from Sony.
@paultasker7788 the picture on the c3 is amazing gaming & films 800 hdr nits & the game optimiser lg is best
S95D was it for me. As a gamer, it stood out too much.
Hi! Love your content! Can you please disclose your setting on the G4? Thank you!
I aim to do a settings video soon 😊
@@TheTechGiantRUclips hey did you end up doing a settings video? 👀
How were they set up? Which presets were used?
Standard
Would OLED TV’s get discounts for Black Friday?
LG definitely leads in natural colour
I definitely like the LG better!
Congrats LG on winning this shootout. I don't get it why LG didn't win other shootout.
I traded my S95D for the LG G4. No regrets! Buyer beware on the S95D. The G4 is a masterpiece in comparison.
@@jpxmodzI’d be very careful of folks like this. People are actively ignoring the G4’s issues.
Check the forums of real owners and you’ll get the full story.

Great showdown, Thanks TG!
Awesome video and comparison! Can you do an A95L vs G4 comparison?
That’s a good challenge. Most professional experts give a tiny edge to the Sony.
Did you enjoyed Barcelona´s Trip? Greetings from Barcelona
Amazing comparison my friend ,both are amazing , I have the Panasonic MLA MZ2000 and the Sony A95L and the Panasonic is the best tv in my house ,there processing when with details and skin tones is a just a little bit better than Sony , Both have similar approaches when it comes to processing , the difference with Panasonic is they are going to push the brightness and accuracy .Sony preserves there brightness to make sure there tvs are accurate.
Can the sound thing be associated with down-firing speakers just over a carpet vs a wall mounted situation. Agree that in any case you should add other sound systems
it does always need some calibrating in my experience. There are wallmounts that you can pull the tv towards you, i would recommend that.
Quantum tv crying in the corner rn
The dude is a clown
I dare you to spend 3 grand on that G4
@skolvikings5263 I'm cool with my c3 atm. Will be upgrading when price is right for 77" also might wait 1 or 2 years see what the new tech is like
Can you do a game comparison with these 2 giants please
Just bought a S90D for 1200 at that price ots performance is unbeatable and if you know how to calibrate the setting it looks insane i havent got any of that pink hue off large white areas something is off in your setting maybe messed with the gamut or something
no comments on the anti glare display of the s95D? ..put these in a bright room and compare also for those who have very bright rooms like me
The Samsung looks absolutely horrible with that pink tint, the lg looks fantastic!
Whose calibrations did you use pls? I need one pls
@ Samsung have its own, where you use the camera of your phone. I used both my iPhone 15 pro and Samsung s23 and I have to say IPhone does the best calibration.
You use the smart things app and connect the tv to the app and then go to calibration. It can be tricky to find for some models
QD oled all day.. LG is mostly washed out. With s95D u got to calibrate it a bit more and it can give u images that LG can only dream of
This pinkish image on the Samsung is horrible. There has to be something wrong in the settings (?)
Can you edit this to say the gap is about 8 or 9 inches, just in case my misses watches the video? Thanks in advance
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 how did you convince her that 2.5” is 8-9” 😆 👍🏼
@@brokenwrench404 where there's a will....😂
Standard mode on Samsung is going to be vastly off because it boosts the colors too much. Switch to Movie or FMM and the pink is gone. Standard mode is so inaccurate that one should never use the picture mode.
I assume it be corrected or at least adjusted in the colour settings? I don’t think I have ever owned a tv I haven’t tweaked the colour on.
The colours are definitely better on the LG, more natural
You can make the Samsung look natural lol but you can't make the LG look like the Samsung.
You can make the Samsung look like the G4.. But you can't do viceversa
Así es totalmente LG G4 gana en casi todos los apartados solo le falta el panel antireflejo. Saludos

@mrskeletonreacts - I have the 77inch G4 and gaming on it is phenomenal. Running both PS5 and Xbox Series X and its amazing!

What the best?
the samsung looks oversaturated , and the lg more natural
Great video. I prefer the g4 but because of price diffrence, I’d choose the s95d
Or possibly the LG C4?
Nice work and more, more, more comparisons this two tv's
well done bro great comparison
LG G4 wins for me
Samsung not having Dolby Vision or DTS support was enough for me to not even consider it.
Jep lg can handle more types of video and audio
If Samsung was gloss I would go for it. Otherwise either G4 or will get a projector whilst waiting for bigger OLEDs to get better and cheaper
The 77" LG G4 is my choice, also price was way cheaper because of discount I got. Samsung S95D 77" is still full price in my country.
Everything says LG makes better OLED tv’s but I have boycotted LG for life. I got a Samsung S90D and couldn’t be more happy.
LG build quality, OS, Remote, Brand Reputation >>> Samsung
for me g4 hands down I notice something on my c3 can not change the colour gamat but when playing black myth a sdr game I can change to BT.1886 don't understand why lg choose to do this
I’m having a hard time choosing between the S95D and the Bravia 9. I head that Sony is better with upscaling non 4K content
Samsung’s Vivid mode is the ugliest in the industry. I would have liked to have seen a comparison of LG’s Cinema versus Samsung’s Movie mode, both at Max Brightness.
I have a G2 and the sound and picture quality is awesome,no problems with brightness, the Samsung's build quality seems poor in comparison
Samsung looked like it was kinda in vivid mode. LG looked way more natural.
Because he uses standard mode and not filmmaker as he should have.
Samsung supposed to have better colours
Cartoonish colors but it can be calibrated to be more realistic
Too much " Red "
No Contest, QD-OLED is far superior to WOLED. No wonder the S95D beat the G4 by plenty in the King of TV shootout...
The LG looked more to the blue end where as the Samsung looked more to the red end color tone wise.
I have an S95C TV. Can you send me the settings so I can benefit from your beautiful eyes?
@@stevieh771 I'm glad you're sorted and happy. The immaculate uniformity on the QD-OLEDs is one of their best attributes 👍
I have Samsung 40in 5yrs old ..the PC is permanently plugged in to it. but. there is a "black cloud" on the screen...any advice ? thks
Yes, buy a new TV. They've gotten a lot better and you're missing out.
@@Icipher4Samsung didn't make oled then so either QLED or LED. Failing backlight/panel. It's had it! Replace it.
Is it worthy to change C1 to C4? Imho, Samsung looks much better on the footage comparison.
So outdated woled is the way to go????
Personal preference, prefer the Samsung myself , hence just buying one.
Something is not adjusted right to have blue walls on one and pink on the other.
I think there is a setting somewhere wrong on the Samsung that pink should not be there
The Samsung S95D is the most maligned TV of 2024, this comparison is simply misleading because the color comparison cannot be based on standard mode without a minimum change to the settings.
Another reason for hatred towards this TV is the matte coating, which in reality is absolutely not noticeable when there is little light or in a totally dark ambient.
The picture quality on the Samsung is fantastic, I own the 77" and it's an amazing TV, totally love it!
@@CristianoTerlizzi thanks for your opinion.
Samsung picture looks pink.
As soon as he realises the Samsung looks better he changes the picture mode.
Got to convince self the wall mounted one is better.
Not sure these were calibrated to their best I love my s90c
Cinema mode on "most" TV's seems to give more accurate colours.
Samsung TV take colour accuracy as a suggestion they choose to ignore.
In game mode the Samsung beats the G4 it has superior tone mapping and the LG G4 has some black crush.
Both are great but the Samsung has way more color depth and can be tuned to anyone’s preferences. Nevertheless I hate Samsung’s UI and if I had to buy one today, I would need to look in depth both live. I have one S95B and the UI is nasty, everything else is great!
Samsung cant build good software.. first glance looks nice, when you go deeper you will see that things are not as good.
How does the sound of both tv's compare to the S95B ? That TV had decent bass, especially if you enable the Amplify function.
When lg will make QD OLED that will be the end of samsung oleds 😂 because they will make it with no pink filter and more brightness
Buy a backlightning TV led. Better natural colours
Quantum TV disagrees with this comparison. He claims with his settings the Samsung will look the best
QD-OLED wins hands down.
