I ordered the LG G4 65" a few days ago. The 5-year limited panel replacement warranty is such a bonus! + 4-year extended warranty. I cannot wait to set up this bad boy!
Have you ever had a C class LG oled? I have the CX and am considering upgrading to the G3 (if I can find anywhere) or waiting and going for the G4 early next year.
I went at my local Best Buy and compared both TVs. The S95d anti glare is magical, the G4 is impressive but there was so much glare it was distracting, I have 4 huge windows in my living room so im sticking to the S95d
I have the 77G4 and the 55S95D. I know a lot about tv’s and have tested these side-by-side: PS5 - G4 is brighter in apl - G4 highlights certain aspects more, for example lighting on walls - Colorvolume is a bit better on S95D, sdr is a different story - G4 has better contrast in a room with lighting on - G4 has better clarity and motion HDR: - A bit better colorvolume for the S95D - Overall the G4 is brighter, sharper and has better motion SDR: - The S95D has noticeable better colorvolume - Noise reduction is better on G4 - G4 can get brighter Still i found them not to be a lot different, but i like the brighter hdr on the G4. Strangely sdr can’t push G4 colors as hard as HDR. This is my personal take having these 2 tv’s a while now
I prefer LG G4 or LG C4 TV over Samsung S95D TV because I and my families all have iPhone 15 Pro and pro Max support Dolby Vision. Dolby Vision videos (HEVC BT.2020 HLG 12 bit RGB) is one the best video codecs for shooting beautiful and colorful videos to display on high-end HDR OLED TVs like LG OLED TVs. I've been making and editing videos for over 24 years. Some of my best quality videos I've shared on my RUclips channel and facebook.
I've seen both of these televisions in person. They both look fantastic!!! Close your eyes, point, and which ever your finger lands on, you've gotten yourself a fabulous television. The only thing that I didn't like with the G4 is that it gets extremely hot. I put my hands on the screen and wow, that thing gets extremely hot in comparison to the Samsung. So if you're buying the G4 as a room television and you're pairing it with a gaming PC that gets hot, then you had better keep your AC running all day.
@luisda3602 don't take my word for it go into your nearest electronics store and touch it. As a matter of fact the gentleman at Best Buy was the one that actually bought it to my attention.
@luisda3602 also take these "expert" reviews with a grain of salt. Remember that what they are seeing you may not see the same thing on your set. In other words, you determine whether you like a product or not, not them.
I could actually feel the heat from the tv without touching it and just looking at it, the Samsung I had to put my hand close to before I could feel anything.
I spent 2 months obsessing over this videos to chose the beat TV for me, decided to go for size and bought an S90C 77'' I LOVE IT but I have to stop watching this Chanel before I start doubting myself 😂
@@yonkocommander5531 I got the TV, a q930C soundbar, calibration, installation and wall mounting, delivery, 3 top hdmi cables, 5 years of insurance for just around 2.8k (the S90C is heavily discounted in Switzerland but not quite as cheap as in the states) the other options I had in mind (s90d, s95c/d, G4 and A95L) were all between 4.5/6k just fornthe tv
A95L has over sharpening issues along with a bunch of others. For the minor improvements in PQ in rare occasions the A95L has, the G4 is much cheaper, better warranty, more software and tweaking options. I really wanted the A95L. But after watching all the reviews and seeing user feedback, it's G4 for me. I had the S95C last year.
A lot of people are saying QD is the future it’s the way to go with color pop good accurate color pop for the Sony and the Lg panel is old tech and you’re not getting you’re money worth. Am I missing out on something if i don’t get a panel with out QD. Is Sony superior to all the tvs. Which tv is 1st 2nd & 3rd place
@@Questions4ALL your money is best spent where you’re going to be happy. These tech companies claim their new marketing venture is the very best! Until a couple years later when something else comes about. I wouldn’t worry about best, but rather what you prefer. What is important to you.
Sony A95L QD-OLED trumps the LG G4 by a big margin as far as image sharpness and color saturation is concerned; moreover the A95L has much better, richer sounding built-in speakers than the LG G4
Had the G4 for 2 weeks and now have the S95D. G4 Best things=Great at everything, ticks every box, great remote. It's a really good plug-and-play. It all works. If you can live with the issues below, its the better TV for most....not all people. The worst things=Most of the G4s and C4s have a screen issue that most owners don't know about or will notice, but its a thin line that goes right down the middle of the screen, but you need to know what your looking for. My G4 had more pink tint on the edges than my C9 had. Not as smooth to use or as clean when using as a PC monitor. S95D Best things=The best TV if you want to wall mount, only one cable to hide and that's it. The matte finish is odd...in a good way. Through the day you don't have to draw the blinds if the suns out (I had to with C9 and G4). Late afternoon and more so dark room viewing is stunning. Due to the matte finish its more like a movie screen and the matte means things on the screen that should have no slight sheen, like clothing, look the way they should. Space, dark lanes, all the things that should be matte black are. This is why the S95D beat Sony and LG with the blind tests for dark room viewing done by HDTVtest and Value Electronics. The panel is also a lot cleaner, with way better colour and colour gradation. Worst things=No DV and no DTS pass through, although I don't miss DV as for a few years I have picked HDR after finding the reference levels of DV just lacking some pop. There is ways around DTS, but the TV basically turns it into digital surround. Some might hate that, but I love it because I hate DTS, and have done for decades lol. Samsung give you two remotes, one that's small and neat and the other is horrible and been around for way too long. Sound is also a bit better on the G4. For the average person, I would say, even with its issues, the G4 is better for most people is the one to get, but it you care more on the panel, the picture itself above everything else, the S95D is better.
I have a question, because we are very attracted to the Samsung S95D but we love blu rays and we were worried that maybe those blu rays that have DV would be losing colour features if we compare them with the LG G4, but maybe this is silly. We don’t know… if viewing of DV blu rays is of same quality for both the G4 and the Samsung, we will buy the Samsung. In which of your 2 TVs would the playback on a high end Pioneer blu rays player supporting HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision would be best in your opinion, please?
@@benaldreamsproductions1442 When DV first came out, I had to have it. Over the years I have got to the point where depending on the film, I would turn DV off and go with HDR10...HDR10+. DV is reference really, its how its intended frame by frame, however, over the years I have noticed that some films are a little dull, even if they are reference level. I found that in a dark room, there were benefits with DV in a lot of films, but some movie suffered from black crush. I also found that if not in a dark room, they just felt a little dull, and if you are watching sci-fi or the like, that's not a great thing. With HDR10+ its does the same thing, you TBH you would say it looks the same. With HDR10+ being royalty-free, more streaming services and companies are going with it now because it is free, DV wants money off the likes of LG that uses it. I still stick by if you want a TV that's great at everything, the G4 is that TV, but, if you want a TV that has a better panel/picture/no reflection/wins awards as best darkroom TV, the S95D is amazing, but its more about the panel and picture vs LGs better software/remote/sound/can do DV and DTS passthrough. If the S95D is getting hooked up to a good/modern AV, you keep the DTS passthrough.
@@MysticCoder Yeah! men LG should upgrade their remotes it feels so cheap plastic sht I hope more people complain about this so LG one day listen to their customers and bring a aluminum solar powered remote.
What a shame we didnt get Sony A95L in the comparison. I know it is not new, but it carries over and I expect it would still do well against these two ? Guess I have to wait for a follow up, or a different reviewer
@@brianzoro9652best to you but in reality Samsung tends to be one of the weakest options in its bracket. I tend to go with reality when looking at products to buy.
I went with the S95D because I'm not rich enough to have a light-controlled room dedicated to watch films in filmmaker's mode. It's a game changer, no two ways about it. And the sound is way above average if you hang it on the wall.
Most people will benefit from the high quality antiglare coating. But the people that haunt these sort of comment sections are wannabe home theatre min maxers that will turn their nose up at something for the perception of 'inaccuracy' and 'contrast' and lack of high end dolby features, while acting like they have perfect light control over their living spaces all the time. It's a pretty simple equation - if you have bright light sources reflecting off the TV (sun/reflections/lights/etc), you'll want the TV that counteracts that. If you don't, then you'll probably want the TV that's more color and motion accurate.
@@Zaptruder You said it even better. And if you control all the factors in the "dedicated home theatre" that everybody keeps talking about like they're millionaires then you should get a Laser TV.
My last 3 purchases came down to Samsung v LG. And each time, Dolby vision was the deciding factor. Time to buy again, and not sure why I spend all the time researching the current models. DV again is the deciding factor.
1 year warranty Samsung vs 5 year on LG. New Tech vs Old faith. Know which one I'm buying. LG no doubt. QDOLED is yet to be proven for longevity. SD90 burns hot without a heatsink and white base line.
If I play a DV blu ray in a DV supporting high end blu ray player, will it clearly show better colour in the LG than in the Samsung or not necessarily?
I was between these two TVs, and just pulled the trigger on a 77" G4 two days ago. The deciding factor for me was something I don't think was mentioned - warranty! The LG has a 5-year warranty on their panel that covers burn-in. That was the key selling point that pushed me to LG.
@@jereaaltonen3655 Provide a source if this is true, because I can't find anywhere on Samsung's website that their OLED TV's can be covered under warranty for 10 years, including burn-in.
@@ajwtf6539 yep. I live in Finland. Campaign is valid here to end of march 2025. Also bought mine samsung qn900b over year ago with 10 year burn-in warranty.
I can VOUCH for the longevity of LG Oled. I have a 10 yr old LG OLED from when they had the curved screen OLED. Have used it EXTENSIVELY and it works without any FLAW to this day. Excellent picture. People still marvel at its clarity. Not one pixel missing. No banding problem. I watch it daily for several hours, and have for 10 years. LG OLEDs are a beast
@@mdk8783 Very SLIGHT burn in two specific locations [limited to a tiny area] which are NOT visible to anyone else EXCEPT me! Because I am extra sensitive and vigilant about this TV and on the look out for burn-in. This minor burn-in is only visible when a yellow background is on the screen. [SOURCE of BURN-IN: RUclips videos I watch 95% of the time, through ROKU. The RUclips ICON on the top corner has a slight impression/burn-in on the screen, that ONLY I have noticed. Similarly, the progress bar of RUclips Videos, that has left a very slight faint horizontal line at the bottom, about 1.5 inch along and above the bottom edge]. Again NOT one person has observed that slight faint hint of the burn-in. I too forget that there is that burn-in and may notice is about once in a month when a full yellow background appears. My point is that this is the oldest OLED from LG and their technology has improved manifold since, especially how they address the burn-in. If I cannot notice a burn-in on a heavily used LG OLED after 10 years of extensive use [4 hours EVERY DAY, for 10 years]. And 95% of the usage over 10 yrs has been youtube videos and yet I get non Noticeable burn-in. Mine is a 65 inch curved OLED and I have been tempted to buy a new LG OLED when the prices get dirt cheap on Black Friday etc. But my TV works super-fantastic and I calibrated it myself so well, that tech savvy people are stunned by the clarity of my TV. Let me tell you that I find VERY LITTLE improvement in the latest model LG G4 or C4 [on display at BestBuy] over my 10 yr TV. And I am NOT exaggerating. I am sure if I buy a new one and calibrate it myself, I may get better results (surely coz the tech has improved so much in 10 years). But from what I see on display, I would keep my current TV for another 10 years. This thing is a beast and I have used it as such. (some times watch movies on Prime etc and News etc on other live TV, in addition to RUclips, but have worked this thing real hard. I just don't have the heart to replace it).
@@mdk8783 There is very minor [not yet noticed by anyone else, but me]. This is the very faint impression of the 'RUclips' logo, since I only play youtube through my Roku and that faint impression/slight burn in, shows ONLY when the background/screen color is pure yellow [for example when Ads play which have full yellow background]. Only I have noticed it and no one else in my family [since I am very laser focused on such things]. Not bad at all for a 10 yr old LG OLED [this was the earliest version of OLED] and I have really used this TV hard. Given how much the OLED tech has evolved, and especially the LG OLED standards are far advanced given they are the pioneers and the leader of the pack, I am sure the new OLEDs are even better. I plan on picking up an 83" OLED later this year or the next for another room.
Got 65, S95D for 2500$ (including installation). Absolutely love it, can watch TV with full sunlight coming. No regrets as G4 and A95L both are around 1100-1000$ more expensive here in India. Absolutely love the matte finish. I find DV overrated for streaming services, dynamic mapping on TV itself works pretty great. Calibrated the TV using my phone, then switched on the bell and whistles I like.
I am kinda regretting getting Samsung now. I got the S95C in India last year and it died on me just 1 month after warranty is up. 2L down in the drain. I suggest you get the extended warranty else a huge loss awaits. Also, Samsung HDR oversharpens a lot and looks very weird. I will probably opt for LG G4 now since they offer 5 year panel warranty.
Agreed. Samsung is not in the conversation at all. I can't spend this much money and get no dolby vision, matte screen, aggressive dimming, poor color accuracy, poor qc, etc. Samsung are not a serious competitor. They should wake us up when they're ready to try.
@@gallynuts I think out of box color accuracy is best on G4. I’m not sure what the results would be after calibration but the G4 definitely has more natural and realistic color to my eyes. I also find the image on the G4 cleaner and more detailed than on the A95L. I’m not convinced the processing on the A95L is any better than the Alpha 11. It may be but I’m just not convinced yet.
@@OgoTheKeeper Not to forget the 40gbps bandwidth limit. He says it's not an issue, but it actually is. Remember that fancy 144hz that these screens come with? PC gaming at 4k@144hz + 10 bit color = 40gbps isn't enough, so it switches to DSC to compensate. DSC is fine but the S95D constantly goes to black screen when switching from windowed to exclusive fullscreen for games and applications, 3 to 5 seconds each time. That's so beyond aggravating that it's a complete dealbreaker as far as I'm concerned.
Whether or not you actually use it, does anyone actually *dislike* having an included stand? I'm not even using my TV's stand but I still recognize it as a requirement to use the product without having to spend more on a mounting device and thus something that every company should include in the box.
Everything was great , but is it possible to compare sony a95L with those two? i know it's another generation but i would like to know your opinion on it. Also does anyone in chat knows how does sony handle warranty regarding dead pixels or burn-in? do they change the pannel like LG or?
My 7 year old 65" LG C6 OLED has a rather clear Netflix logo burnt in in the lower right corner (especially visible with red background) so I'm looking for a 75-77" replacement. Should i be worried about a new burn-in in a few years, or have the OLED technology improved enough to make it unlikely?
Went for the LG G4. It is the finest TV I have ever owned. It's been absolutely flawless so far and LG is releasing firmware updates to address any discovered issues or vulnerabilities.
If you are fortunate enough to be able to afford either one. You are winning at life! I chose the Samsung 77" S95D due to me being in the Samsung universe (Q990D soundbar, S24 phone, watch, S7+ tablet, etc...). I really liked the G4 at Best Buy, but the deciding factor was the Samsung universe. I have a darkened room, so the anti-glare matte finish was not necessary, but appreciated. Either way, enjoy your movies, streams, GAMING and especially the company you are viewing with. Destiny 2 Titans for life! Both TVs will make you appreciate the power of the imagination. I just got finished viewing the IMAX International Space Station documentary in 4k. MAN-A-LIVE!, was that amazing with the soundbar!
So you like the s95d? Over the g4. I have a g4 and it has issues with its connection and also got extremely hot. So much so, that my wife walked by it and kept asking me why the room was so hot. I have my AC at 71. When I touched the screen it was very hot to the touch. But I am torn after watching these types types of videos. BBY has offered to exchange the 77inch G4 with the 77 inch Samsung s95d? I watch in a fairly dark room and would Love to know which is better for my situation and for use with LoveSac stealth tech. Any advice or input appreciated. Thank you
@victorpedroso360 I do not own an LG. My friend does. I like them both! I have no complaints about the entire Samsung universe. The sound bar sounds great with the TV. I use my tablet and/or phone as a remote control for the TV and soundbar. The glare is definitely noticeable on buddies LG G4. We have to darken the room first. My room is already dark with the S95D, so no issues.
15:27 this happens on ALL 2nd gen Samsung panels after a recent software update. It does NOT happen on Standard/Eco mode, but Filmmaker and Movie mode currently have frame pacing issues on all 2nd and 3rd gen panels :(
I have a old Samsung 55 inch curved TV from 2015 it was one of the first of Samsungs 4k tvs. I love the fact is supports DTS and because of this I now would probably go with the LG
You can see the color luminance of QDOLED in the works here. It's brighter in a lot of scene too but no mentioned about it, like the yellow feather scene. But put the panel performance aside. For a complete package as a TV I think LG is better overall. From Dolby support to a proper implementation of HGIG for gamer.
I prefer the qd-oleds for the colors. I think LGs w-oleds look a little sterile/cold or something like this. It's hard to explain and just my personal preference. Also it doesn't help to increase the colour temperature to a warmer tone on the LG oled, I've tried it.
I've used both and can say that the LG's colors are basically easier on the eyes, the Sony's are simply too saturated in color, especially that color is uncomfortable to look at for a long time, you don't need to worry about it. Regarding the panel technology of both, because they both have 100% sRGB, there is no difference other than the high saturation in red on the Sony, making it feel more colorful. QD oled will generally be better if you put the TV in a dark room but the better balance is still WD oled, don't care how superior QD oled is marketed, I'm sick of that talk, what we need is a real experience
Getting my G4 delivered Wednesday i can’t wait!!! I was checking both of these tv’s out but the LG is on sale for 2700 compared to the Samsung being over 3k still
Yeah, no matter how you look at it dispersing ambiental light over a large area that is supposed to be black means the black is no longer perceived by the eyes as black.
Correct. Its even more pronounced in game mode. It will be worse on the s95d but only if enough light hits the screen, it then disperses across it giving a grey hazy affect
Isn't regular everyday programing in SDR more important than videos made to show off HDR in 4k ..? Most programing is still in 720p and 1080. Which Tv can up -convert SDR the best ?
I purchased the Samsung….Im not a huge TV fanatic and when comparing picture quality through my 53yr old eyes I was splitting hairs….theres nothing in it for the average person….I do however have a large window situated close to the TV and the anti glare function on the Samsung is excellent….the Samsung also has the “eye care” mode which reduces blue light and makes the picture easier on the eye….both of these TV’s are very good, but I think the Samsung is more user friendly for the average consumer.
I just purchased the 55in S90D and i find myself lowering the color volume on certain movies because it’s to much color pop. But playing video games or watching marvel movies with lots of color it’s excellent. Movies that doesn’t need extra color pop i find myself adjusting the color volume because i knows it’s over kill or that’s not the real color of the object or person. So it’s seems Samsung over exaggerate color and you find yourself adjusting every movie you watch to more or less color is it the same for the G4 and how do the A95L stand up against these.
If you calibrate the TV yourself following some help from the forums it will fix this. I had the same issues with my S95C. In Game Mode you 100% need to also lower saturation to make it more acurate.
I choose the qd oled I went with the Sony A95L since its better than both of these tvs. My main reason is color volume the colors on the qd oled ore more vibrant and saturated while still being accurate, Sony is the only one that can pull that off. If I had to choose one of these I would choose the Samsung after all color is the most important thing on a tv and the samsung has the better color volume.
that was my question: where's the comparable sony? isn't sony going to have the same screen as the samsung with stronger internal performance (and google tv > tizen?).
@@CaliFinestDemon Nope not in certain areas. I think you dont understand the tech,WRGHB OlED is an old tech it uses white light for brightness so that means the brighter it gets the more washed out the colors will get. QD OLED uses a QD light for colors so when it gets bright the color remains bright so colors will always look better in bright scenes on the QD OLED.
@@vcam-g9h In certain areas like color aspects yes. But overall they are much pretty close. Ppl have reviewed both and said as such they are very close.
I purchased the 77 inch LG G4. I also own a G2. The MLA I feel like washing out the image to much. I returned the G4 and got the Samsung s90D. IMO the QD OLEDS blow the doors off of WOLED. I would take the s90d over any LG OLED since I’ve owned both. No comparison. LG is going to have to get with the program if they want to compete with Sony A95L and Samsung QD OLEDs
As much as I like LG, at this point I’m beginning to become more concerned abt future proofing technology, i.e, QD tech and what’s gonna b produced/available for it in tv n movies.
There are some LG G4 83" owners reporting a vertical line in the middle of the screen or something like a contrast difference between the left and right side of the screen... have you seen any signs of this on the LG`s you have seen in person?
Why do you love Samsung? They have a well documented history of building unreliable, junky products. From TVs to phones to appliances, they are one of the worst.
Another great comparison review. Personally I like to see the S90D against the LG G4, I’ve seen the Samsung S95D alongside the S90D in store and preferred the S90D picture.
Every time we talk about speakers on flagship tvs I cringe. Do people who spend 3-5k on a tv really not use an external sound system? I would love to see lite versions of flagships where thickness is minimized by removing internal sound
Thank you for this video, I went to see both TVs for myself and I was supper impressed by the S95D! Too bad they don’t have an 85” QDOLED Also LG G4 has 5 years warranty and Dolby Vision and support for DTS
I just got a 83 LG OLED G4, I am having some compatibility issues my Apple TV. The LG scene cuts in and out. I have been playing with Apple TV setting for about a week and its getting better.
I think LG G4 has a better image processing chip than Samsung. I think it is as good as Sony image processor. When I say a chip I’m actually including the image processing software too. And, because of the software aspect, I don’t think Samsung can catch up next year either. The software division of Samsung is.. just a joke. It really is.
S90D at half the cost of an LG G4? With less performance than the S95D? No no, you goofballs (as previously mentioned). The true comparison is the A95L vs G4.
G4 has better black levels which means it beats the s95d in contrast.and by the way s95d lifts black levels by a huge margin in normal to bright lit rooms
That is not the case. there is a slight lift in blacks but not by a huge margin. the biggest mistake you can do is to judge the coating from photos or videos... it´s GREAT when you gonna see it in person. and it´s even greater in your home, because of different lighting conditions.
Its the same blacks as s95c, they are extremely grey compared to the g4. I own both. Playing diablo 4 is a total shitshow on the samsung, the dark eery feel is gone because of greys. There is absolutely a significant difference in blacks

Is the HLG format fixed in samsung tv:s? I have samsung s90c, lg c2 and c9. HLG is for some reason way too dim on samsung. Also the lack of HGIG support for HDR games makes it hard to adjust the picture accurate in my samsung tv. Usually to either have too washed out picture or too dimm. But in some games the picture is better than lg when you get the settings right. Samsung has better hardware(qd-oled), but the software or processing is just not as polished than what lg offers.
Had the S95D for a month now, best decision ever. Yes the blacks sometimes get grayed by light but better than seeing reflections like a mirror. It’s not for everyone but it’s perfect for me.
Well said. Reflections are super distracting and completely overlap certain critical details. I would prefer the anti-glare coating to the glossy coating any day.
What about LG vignette issues? I had a LG 77C1 and watching movies like Dune were under watchable in dark scenes. After that I moved to QD OLED which was perfect.
Samsung quality sucks, my S95C died just after 1 year and a month so I am out of luck as no warranty claim can happen now. I wonder if this is why Samsung does not offer a longer warranty period while LG giving 5 year panel warranty as standard on G series. I made this huge mistake.
When I saw the S95D at Best Buy, there was no comparison. I really hate glossy screens. Imagine quality is meaningless if you see your own reflection on the screen. The fact the the S95D is a REALLY good TV in addition to its anti-glare screen is just icing on the cake.
I have seen in different places now that the Samsung 95D has been having trouble with gaming. Specifically, while playing Xbox or PS5, the games always stutter as if G-sync and Freesync seem to not be working.
@kevintaylor2973 Lucky you. That doesn't mean it is not happening. Either you got a trouble-free unit, or you may not be that sensitive to stuttering. It's even mentioned in last week's Digital Foundry weekly podcast. One of them bought the 95D and had to return it because of it. Tried everything, and the problem persisted.
I was always in favour of LG Oled because of their great price performance. I have the C1 and am still impressed by the picture quality. Now I've noticed that the colours are richer with Samsung, even calibrated. I'm giving Samsung a chance this year. Even if Dilby Vision is missing, I think there is enough HDR10+ material. It's a pity that LG doesn't combine Nanocell/ Qned with OLED. Perfect black level with the colour volume of Quantum Dot.
Great video. My question is what are the best calibration settings for the best picture quality for the G4 or is it best to just use one of the presets?
No,Sony has better picture processing and Image quality,It’s been certified by pretty much every professional,But the best OLEDs are Panasonics which you cannot get in the US.
I have an LG C1 from 2021. I am completely satisfied with its performance, but I did calibrate it. Between those two TVs, I would choose an LG or the less expensive one. I am a power user - buy LG.

😂😂 I've seen all OLED TV's at best but, what glare are you talking about?bruh your comment comes out as disingenuous
I have the 77G4 and the 55S95D. I know a lot about tv’s and have tested these side-by-side:
PS5
- G4 is brighter in apl
- G4 highlights certain aspects more, for example lighting on walls
- Colorvolume is a bit better on S95D, sdr is a different story
- G4 has better contrast in a room with lighting on
- G4 has better clarity and motion
HDR:
- A bit better colorvolume for the S95D
- Overall the G4 is brighter, sharper and has better motion
SDR:
- The S95D has noticeable better colorvolume
- Noise reduction is better on G4
- G4 can get brighter
Still i found them not to be a lot different, but i like the brighter hdr on the G4. Strangely sdr can’t push G4 colors as hard as HDR. This is my personal take having these 2 tv’s a while now
Thanks for doing this breakdown😊
But how can the S95D have better color volume if they both cover ~100% of SDR color volume?

Wow. What a conclusion you got for just touching the tv, actually is contrary of what tons of the videos of experts says
The s95d runs hotter. I think it pulls twice as much power. Probably just what content was playing or something.

A95L has over sharpening issues along with a bunch of others. For the minor improvements in PQ in rare occasions the A95L has, the G4 is much cheaper, better warranty, more software and tweaking options.

Sony A95L QD-OLED trumps the LG G4 by a big margin as far as image sharpness and color saturation is concerned; moreover the A95L has much better, richer sounding built-in speakers than the LG G4
It seem the QD-OLEDs are way more susceptible burn in, so that's a consideration too.
Had the G4 for 2 weeks and now have the S95D.
G4
Best things=Great at everything, ticks every box, great remote.
S95D
Best things=The best TV if you want to wall mount, only one cable to hide and that's it.

Bright room. S95D. That way can enjoy day and night!!

Very interesting! No burn in too?

I can't stand samsung's color scheme it's WAY over saturated and unrealistic.
If you calibrate the TV yourself following some help from the forums it will fix this. I had the same issues with my S95C. In Game Mode you 100% need to also lower saturation to make it more acurate.

LG is going to have to get with the program if they want to compete with Sony A95L and Samsung QD OLEDs
Overall, LG wins, again
It's obvious
As much as I like LG, at this point I’m beginning to become more concerned abt future proofing technology, i.e, QD tech and what’s gonna b produced/available for it in tv n movies.
Lg never wins … dream again either last year it was the last of all flagships
Wait isn't even this year 80+ inch models don't have mla?
As much as I like the LG this year I couldn't go back to woled colour dilution and panel uniformity issues. I'd go with the s95c
Great video Caleb. Is the blue hue on the whites on the G4 jyst a camera thing?
G4 for me too Caleb😊
2:53 not in every market you don't. Unfortunately. Which is what is stopping me from buying the G4.
The LG G4 for me.
There are some LG G4 83" owners reporting a vertical line in the middle of the screen or something like a contrast difference between the left and right side of the screen... have you seen any signs of this on the LG`s you have seen in person?
I love Samaung, but they messed up with the anti-glare pannel...
Why do you love Samsung? They have a well documented history of building unreliable, junky products. From TVs to phones to appliances, they are one of the worst.
Would love to also see a comparison of the LG C4 to the Samsung S90D.
Another great comparison review. Personally I like to see the S90D against the LG G4, I’ve seen the Samsung S95D alongside the S90D in store and preferred the S90D picture.
S90D uses 2nd gen qd panel, where’s S95D uses current 3rd gen qd-OLED panels.
Probably down to the type of anti reflective screen.
17:22 vastly different color balance between the two... now... is the G4 greenish or S95D pinkish? Or maybe neither one is color accurate...?
Every time we talk about speakers on flagship tvs I cringe. Do people who spend 3-5k on a tv really not use an external sound system? I would love to see lite versions of flagships where thickness is minimized by removing internal sound
Thank you for this video, I went to see both TVs for myself and I was supper impressed by the S95D! Too bad they don’t have an 85” QDOLED Also LG G4 has 5 years warranty and Dolby Vision and support for DTS
So no Dolby vision and not jet black OLED and poor sound on the Samsung. Clearly LG is the winner
8:27 The cuts between the TVs here made me imagine the TVA keeping an eye on the Hop Wei for some reason.
great video, thanks! I went for the LG G4. Absolutely stunning tv
I just got a 83 LG OLED G4, I am having some compatibility issues my Apple TV. The LG scene cuts in and out. I have been playing with Apple TV setting for about a week and its getting better.
Still waiting for Bravia 9, hopefully in 75 or better in 85 inches!
And the B9 will have twice as good picture impact because of its Bravia processing and tech they use,Nothing beats the Japanese brands.
The 85 is better than 75 inch not just in size
Stop the FOMO has already done video's on this
I hope to get a G4 at some stage. Dolbyvision and DTS in particular is important to me and my TV area is okay for day time viewing.
Using an antenna for locals, I like having the number buttons on the remote.
Yes. Please do the S90D vs G4 video.
Please, please, please🙏. Thanks.
I would love to see that as well
G4 all day you goofballs
Sorta pointless with this review? Just imagine this very review but slightly less bright
S90D at half the cost of an LG G4? With less performance than the S95D? No no, you goofballs (as previously mentioned). The true comparison is the A95L vs G4.
Great video, choosing between two near tens is always difficult. Both options will give you a ton of viewing delight!
Really good and fair comparison! Loved the intro!
Where do you Rank the Sony A95L with these two?
Love the intro
yep LG G4 for me too Plus Calman calibration get them on the Delta error 1 color and grayscale
@@trumpetmusic5672I don't think you or anyone is watching Dolby Vision on the s95D either😂
Its the same blacks as s95c, they are extremely grey compared to the g4. I own both. Playing diablo 4 is a total shitshow on the samsung, the dark eery feel is gone because of greys. There is absolutely a significant difference in blacks
@@xforx8672I've been telling people to go best buy and see it for themselves.the s95d has a flat acrylic looking image even next to the Samsung mini LEDs.the rtings review comparison actually comes closest to what you actually see.
@@xforx8672it’s mini led type of black - not terrible when no direct reflections but contrast is lesser blacks are slightly higher. The result is not that you would say gray blacks necessarily but flatter picture - 3D effect that micro contrast gives is lost.
Do you plan to review the 97 inch G4?
Xpress Tv getting a shoutout is awesome, not subscribe to him but every time I see his video it is always funny af
When are we getting A95L vs G4?
When I saw the S95D at Best Buy, there was no comparison. I really hate glossy screens. Imagine quality is meaningless if you see your own reflection on the screen. The fact the the S95D is a REALLY good TV in addition to its anti-glare screen is just icing on the cake.
Matte screens are better since they reduce your picture quality. Which is what some people like as opposed to just putting up some curtains.
I have seen in different places now that the Samsung 95D has been having trouble with gaming. Specifically, while playing Xbox or PS5, the games always stutter as if G-sync and Freesync seem to not be working.
i can confirm having play 50 hrs of gaming on xbox x and ps5 i have see not 1 single issue on s95d
@@DeffecX does not mean all of them are like it, could be a 1 off, i have not read anything about this in any forums too
Having seen both personally I’ll take that color of QD OLED for sure over LG pumping brightness
I agree, save a $1000 and get s90c before their sold out
I was always in favour of LG Oled because of their great price performance.
14:33 the blacks on the S95D are beyond terrible here.
So nothing new,It’s a samsung not a Panasonic or Sony, even Lg is better at OLED than Samsung
Great video. My question is what are the best calibration settings for the best picture quality for the G4 or is it best to just use one of the presets?
Better Sony A95L?
No,Sony has better picture processing and Image quality,It’s been certified by pretty much every professional,But the best OLEDs are Panasonics which you cannot get in the US.
I love you so much! I recently just found your kislux and i’m in love!! Your videos are so fun and you energy is just MWAH! keep living your life
I have an LG C1 from 2021. I am completely satisfied with its performance, but I did calibrate it. Between those two TVs, I would choose an LG or the less expensive one. I am a power user - buy LG.
