Hi. I have Sony a6700 and I've been having issues playing back the 4k 4:22 10 bit footage on my windows computer without it being choppy. Iv been considering purchasing a different device to view my 10 bit 4k footage. Are you able to play Sony 4k 4:22 10 bit footage on your iPad pro without it freezing? I would greatly appreciate your help with this issue.
Yes, the iPad can play it without freezing in Resolve, FCP, iMovie or LumaFusion! I’d steer you towards a M1/M2 MacBook Air instead though! They have the same CPU but a full desktop OS instead of iPadOS.
@johnstech7 Thanks for the information! I'm considering either the ipad Pro or the M1 or M2, depending on the price. Have you tried playing Sony 4:22 4k 10 bit in the XVAC HS or XVAC SI formats on the ipad Pro? Those are the file formats I typically use.
Of course! I only use XAVC HS (H.265) which is more compressed. The S-I codec would be even easier to play back since it is not as compressed. Let me know if you have any other questions!
@@johnstech7 Thanks. I am trying to find a computer that will play the different Sony 4k 10 bit formats. I tried on my dell Inspiron AIO 7720 and on my Samsung Tab S8 ultra and neither can play the Sony 10 bit. It plays back choppy and freezes. Not sure if there is a way to get it to play on my computer or if I need to get an Apple instead.
Very pedagogic, keep it up bro🔥

Honestly surprised the S8 Ultra is not able to play the H.265 video. Apple is the way for you though unless you’re looking to build a PC with a GPU!
