- This project is the perfect example of how something doesn't need to be super overgrown in order to get radical results. In fact, doing a super overgrown yard is easy - anything you do will make it look better. How much harder is it to radically improve a yard that isn't really bad? I show you right here.
When Kayla asked me if I'd help her 90 year old mom I was like, "uh yeah...like I'm going to say no to that." I have a soft spot in my heart for elderly people. Probably the smallest things mean a lot, so to give her a beautiful yard and to make her feel special was a wonderful opportunity for me that I appreciated.
As it turns out I had just purchased a new edger a couple days before I did this work, so it was a great opportunity to get familiar with it and put it through its paces, and this project did just that. I've never done so much edging on one property, ever! But wow what a difference.
I never did get to meet or talk to Kayla's mom who lives at this house, but hoping that she loved it is good enough for me.

Always fun to cheer for another gardeners garden. Important to help an elder. As you said, a lot of little details falling behind ends up being a big total in work to do. Thanks for spending the time to do her place. You did a lot of detailing and it looks nice. Glad the back area was fairly simple and you didn't have to work two rounds of long hours in high heat.

Love your garden. you can prune some of the leaves on your tomatoes and squash, so the rest of your plants get sunlight. tomatoes, any leaves touching the soil. also any leaves below fruit set. squash, any leaves as close to base of plant as possible. better light, air as well for pollenators to find flowers.

Dont think anyone lives on the other side. It went up for sale on Monday so I probably did them a favor, which is cool.

Do you find that being tall is a disadvantage to being able to work with normal yard tools that shorter men use with no problem?
@@bard44 Most definitely! Mostly with the trimmer where i have to bend over too much to keep the moving trimmer string parallel to the ground.
