A man after my own heart. I mowed the lawn next door to us for about 5 years while it was vacant and unrentable. Pulled shooters, dug out scrub. A landlord with a good reputation bought it and TOTALLY restored it from the bottom up. Now we have nice neighbors.
I've done exactly the same. The property has only just been sold though, so I've yet to find out if I've got good neighbours.

What is this "land bank"? For us that do not have such a thing or those of us that a land bank means it is in a trust.

That was taken from the internet. I didn't know either. But it would seem this land bank isn't doing their job by definition: "take care of them until they can be transferred to new, responsible owners."
@@diceportz7107A Land Bank is formed by the County or City as a mechanism to return vacant, abandoned or tax sale properties back to private ownership. When a home goes to tax sale for delinquent taxes and no one bids on it and it has no mortgage it is transferred to the Land Bank. One year must transpire before it can be "sold" to a private person just in case the original owner wants to pay the taxes and reclaim the property.

All of these look miles better after than before. If they are expecting a show room new house, well, only so much cutting the growth back can do when the house and concrete are crumbling. Doesn't mean it's a bad job. It is amazing how much difference it can make just mowing!

People should keep in mind that with severe overgrowth, only the outer layer of a bush is green, the rest is woody growth. When you have to do an extreme reshaping, the bush will look butchered until it grows a new outer layer.

Sean, I have to say that I watch a LOT of yard transformations and in the US you are by far #1. I have seen you repair chain link fencing, outdoor lights, gutters, you name it! In Australia there are a couple guys that do excellent work to, Sean from Blade Mate and Tim the lawnmower man. If you want to see someone that is awesome when it comes to hedges, check out this guy in Germany, Kustorez is his channel, he is amazing! Thank you for all you do for these communities!

There isn’t another RUclips yard transformation channel other than Sean’s Australia counterpart, George over on ‘Quick Cuts’, who goes to the extra lengths to finish a job to their satisfaction. Not many will rake yard debris, fix fences, or even attempt to clean up public corner lots and sidewalks. Try Flawless Cleaning....he does a LOT more than just lawncare. (uk) There is ALSO Outdoors with Eric who does extremly bad lawncare cleanups that only people with the equipment he has can do. Then there is the Rudan brothers who replace guttering and roofs free of charge in labour and materials.....there is also a guy who had a six figure job and retired at 30 and started a lawncare community free cleanups and other yard work, like fixing fences....also The boring Channel and his dads channel thats lawncare and pressure washing....then we move onto cleaning up houses...Aurikatrina....and so on.

The Quick Cuts guy is from Hobart in Australia. I agree, he's one of the few I've seen who fixes up stuff like Midlife does.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, you have 300,000 followers because I've said it before and I will keep saying it. YOU HAVE THE BEST WORK ETHIC EVER, I've watched other lawn care videos, one guy ONLY removes the grass if someone is living there, the other guy some what removes the grass. But they just leave the tree clippings in a corner of the property. They never say, oh the city is coming to get it, and one person left like 6 inches of mowed grass. I just think if the wind blows, it's gonna make a mess. And you ALWAYS FIX THINGS like boarding up that garage to make it safe, and fixing the neighbors fence, just outstanding work.

I've watched other "clean-up" channels and I don't watch them anymore, cause they don't pick up "all" the trash, like you do, ( there's nobody living in most of those homes) and they'll just put it on the back, porch & such, but you get rid of it, unless it's a really good usable item and you then leave it for the next inhabitants !!! You've done that in only 1 video, so far ... I very proud of you for the work your doing, to clean up the city, and you even fix things and the other clean-uppers don't do that !!! I love to watch you work !!! I'm 75, and broke my back a couple of years ago so have trouble getting around, but if I were able, you'd inspire me !!! The minds willing the the body's not !!! 😅😅😅

Sean, whenever you cut bushes/hedges/shrubs back to the wood, they look terrible. But just for a while. Next growing period, they green up in all the right places and look great. I know, I have lots of the aforementioned plants and experience this every year..

What's even the point of banks foreclosing on our houses if this is what happens to them? Left to dry rot and overgrow and become a hazard to everyone in the area. People are on the streets and we have homes sitting empty and overgrown, it's a damn shame. Bless you for the work you to do to keep communities healthy and clean.

You have become my favorite in lawn makeovers. For the simple fact that you go low and cut the volunteer trees that pop up in the middle of a bush. 99% of the others trim them at the top of the bush.
