For almost 20 yrs my husband would get off from working in a hot factory and travel 35 miles to mow his mothers yard. I dont understand why family members don't take care of older ones. I am sure she appreciates the hard work you put into her yard. What a cute little porch.

My question is, where is her family to help her? I'm afraid that as us old folks age, we need to think about downsizing to senior apartments so we don't have to worry about yard maintenance. Unless you have the money to pay for lawncare, you need to do away with large yards.

I agree. It screams at me too. I'm 73 and retired, so I have time. I help the young couple who moved in next store 3 years ago, first time home owners, now with two little girls, they're still learning what to do to keep their yard and house up. They're eager to learn, just really short on time because they both work full time jobs and the little ones take up a lot of time, especially for mom. This is a great neighborhood, the neighbors help each other out all the time. I rarely have to shovel in the winter, I have so many neighbors that will come over and snow blow out my sidewalk and driveway. I still have the prettiest front and side yard garden on the block :)
Why would it be the neighbors responsibility? When I get to that point,I will definitely sell my house and downsize to a mobile home or senior residence.
It's so much more satisfying to watch when you pick up all the clippings rather than throwing them in the lawn and mowing it in. I know it way more work but great to watch. Great job sir!
Brian you men and women that do this for the elderly and truly needy are a godsend. You will be blessed ten times fold. The transformations you do are breath taking. I am a 67 year old disabled woman and I have struggled hiring neighborhood boys to cut my yard. I wish I could afford a lawn company but it’s too hard financially all I can say is god bless you, you are a angel.

I can relate to this lady. i am in my seventies, a cancer survivor, widow with multiple health prolems and no one to help. I can only dream. of someone starting this kind of business where I live. God bless you young man and thank you for your labours !!
If her son is like mine he won't do anything unless he gets something out of it. Now my son has grown up and realises that it hard work to keep a beautiful yard.
You could call your local habitat for humanity or other non-profit groups. Our small city has both non-profits and government organizations to help people with their homes and yards. Also churches might be a good resource. Or your senior action center or equivalent. Or maybe even a neighbor who would coordinate with other neighbors and to clean up plus alternate maintenance.

It was so kind and generous of you and your friend to do that yard for the lady with the wonky heart. I have a wonky heart and am 73, but fortunately I am able to take care of my house, front and back yards, it keeps me in shape :) Seeing near the end of the video that the lady has a grown son and (maybe?) a grown daughter but her yard looked like the house had been abandoned for years. That's sad.

Ya know I don’t care if her So there has a cane, he can keep that yard up. I’m 68 years old with a cane my spine is held together with hardware two artificial knees my husband had two open heart surgery’s and our yard is beautiful, because we don’t just sit around there’s always something to be done when you own a house. ❤

Try asking your local Boy Scout troop. They’ll use it as community service.
High-school seniors must do community service, their parents are the actual workers usually and the help !

People don’t reach out and help each other like they did, even 15 years ago. You will have work for as long as you wish to do this as we will always have seniors or people with health problems. Ya know I don’t care if her So there has a cane, he can keep that yard up. I’m 68 years old with a cane my spine is held together with hardware two artificial knees my husband had two open heart surgery’s and our yard is beautiful, because we don’t just sit around there’s always something to be done when you own a house. ❤
