HARDEST Yard Makeover EVER! Roots, MEGA-VINES, a Decade of NEGLECT!

  • I appreciate you checking out my latest yard makeover. This nice woman in her 70's just gave up - she said it got out of control and there was nothing she could do.
    I actually mowed the yard across the street the week before and looked over and saw this one and said, "I gotta do it." I didn't really know what I was signing up for. Vines and roots everywhere, half of her driveway covered, even with help from a friend it was a massive task.
    I continue to look for people I can help - people I can be a blessing to. It's back-breaking work but very satisfying. If you'd like to help be part of the mission by donating I have a "buy me a coffee" page. It is very much appreciated and the funds go right back to the into the projects I do for people. Here's the link: buymeacoffee.com/upnorthmowin...
    You all are the best. Thanks for your kind words and encouragement. It really means a lot.

    I am not sure if I might’ve commented on this before but a tip I have seen elsewhere. The guys do when they have a whole Lotta Brush that they’re piling up as first of all get a tarp, but second take a small rope or a bungee cord with two ends that have holes (or tie ends up)and then use your mower tractor, to pull the branches to where you wanted to finally go saves a whole lot of walking and extra work. Especially at our age.!!

    • @UpNorthMowingDude
      @UpNorthMowingDude  7 дней назад +2

      I didn't have my mower - needed the room on the trailer to haul the branches away.

You may want to check out Spencer with SB Mowing if you haven’t already to check out the tool he uses to attach to shovels, trimmers, rakes, and just about any other straight shaft. To get rid of that stump,take a large drill bit and make a hole in the top as deep as the bit will go in then make one on the side to hook up with the hole ,that is an air hole,as big as that stump is you might do it 3 or 4 times around it then burn it in the holes.

    I figure you are like me, on the line where you qualify as either a Boomer or GenX. I am technically the end of the Boomers but identify as an X-er, ha. Metallica tees and "golf stride" sure sound latchkey, raised ourselves, came home when it got dark and drank from the garden hose generation.
    Great job. I would love to see a picture of how big that tree was, considering the stump and roots. I was going to try to help out my landlord because he mows but is hit and miss on edging but I could not find a weed eater that I could lift for any period of time. I ordered a small hedge trimmer that I am hoping will be good enough to get in the edges. My yard is pretty small, it should be good enough. I am an oldie with a reel mower, no battery, no gas just me going over the same area 3 or 4 times. My neighbors think I am crazy. Probably they are correct.
