I’ve had this generator for 3 years. Best bang for the buck for what I need 95% of the time I need a generator. Take care of it and put stabilizer in the fuel and run it a few times a year as preventative maintenance. I can power our fridge/freezer and basement freezer plus lights during outages. I did the math for startup amps for the appliances. Start the fridge/freezer first, then the freezer, then lights. To use our microwave I unplug the freezer and fridge/freezer, then repeat all of the above after done with the microwave. This has allowed us to make it through a 14 hour outage while still running the Harman pellet stove. Awesome little generator that’s nice to your electronics.
@@TheDeliveryGuy It runs a 1500 W heat gun no problem. But it's the AMPS that matter. It will only handle 13.3 amps. Look at the sticker on the heater. If it draws less than 13 amps it will work. If the TV is an LCD it will likely work fine. I'd turn on the heater first then the TV.
Best review style ever. Just the facts, everything measured, no loud background music or zooming cameras. I guess you can tell by the sudden run of comments that HF just put this on sale at $529 with a link to your review in it. Subscribed so you can get paid.
I just had to say that this is one of the best and most in-depth reviews I've ever seen. Thanks so much for putting so much into it. Very much appreciated.
We have used the ruclips.net/user/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!
I'm happy to hear that. Durability was a major concern of mine. I've heard Honda uses better quality bearings than HFT and other less costly clones. My needs for a generator would be for five or six camping trips a year for our rocket club range ops in the Oregon desert, and then put it away for the winter until the following spring. I don't want to buy a less expensive generator if it's only going to last a year or two.
I bought one 4 years ago and have been lucky enough not to need it but feel confident in it because of this review. I really enjoyed the build quality and it started flawlessly the 4 times I started it. Thanks Kevin! Lastly, Harbor Freight is a great tool supplier IF you do your homework.
Great review. I was especially interested in the "pure sine wave" output. I would have liked to see the actual waveform on an oscilloscope at various loads, to verify the purity.
I used one to power my cabin. It was super quiet could handle any load I put on it. The motor is excellent the problem I had was the crank rope broke also a small plastic pulley behind it broke could not get replacement parts.
I bought it on amazon, its still working in 2023. I dont have a link but it is digital, a wire wraps around the spark plug wire, when the motor starts the meter starts counting up.. I have 34.9 hrs on this generator it is running perfectly. I make sure to start it every couple of months and use fuel stabilizer at all times.
Just give you a heads up that is Harbor Freight generator extended warranty is definitely worth the money I fully expected mine to fail within the first two years however that wasn't the case the peace of mind that comes with the warranty is well worth it it's been 3 years and 2000 Plus hours
Got a returned one for 1/3 the cost after talking to the manager. I didn’t get the box or all the wires but it runs great. Should be enough for my furnace, fridge, and Wi-Fi. 😄. I start it 2 times a year and run it for a few hours and put in fresh fuel. It’s so quite you will not draw attention to yourself like regular generators do. That is very important.. if a large region has prolonged power outages people will get desperate and start taking generators. Be safe 😮
I bought this generator and use it to run my portable air conditioner 14 btu, as well as a shop light and hair clipper in my mobile dog grooming van. I have to turn off my air conditioner to run my dryer. Never had a problem with this generator. I'd buy another one if this one broke. Its used 8 hrs a day and its been 3 years. I've only changed the oil nothing else. Usually starts on 2nd pull.
I run this same generator about 300 hours and it still looks new. Change oil every 20 or 30 hours the engine is tiny and only holds a like ten ounces of oil. You'll hear it start to sound different. Change the oil right away.
Great review. We picked one up this weekend because the power in our camper went out. Much louder than I would expect given the whisper quiet name. And quite hard to start the first time. Plan on returning it
Awesome review. However there are design changes to the evap system in 2022. My first one took over 30 pulls to finally start. Once running and with 200 watt load it would rev up then slow way down and repeat this constantly. Second start was more than 30 pulls again. Exchanged it for another one. It started on second pull. But still had the constant surge at 200 watt load. Starting after that was very inconsistent sometimes second pull sometimes wouldn’t start. Returned unit. And got last years 3500. Works perfectly.
Nice video. Couple things. 1. You DO have to put fuel stabilizer in your gas. It says it on the generator and in user manual. 2. Read the manual. There are numerous detailed things specifically to do and they are not explained here. I understand you were focused on performance mainly but you missed all the initial startup details. Too many for me to go over here. Great video though!
What brand do you use for the stabilizer you use for this predator inverter just got one today and it’s a used one but looks very well taken care of and practically new . And in one full tank how much of stabilizer do you use ? And do you use every time when filling the tank all the way?
Use star Tron stabilizer. It's made by the company that makes Starbright waxes and polishes. It is superior to stay bill as it goes to the molecular level to change the gasoline instead of just covering it with an antioxidant agent. That gums up carburetors eventually. Had that happen to my generator. Also, if you can get ethanol free gasoline you're a big step ahead. I use star Tron in ethanol free gasoline and I'm currently using gasoline that I put in 5-gallon cans 3 years ago with no problem. The generator I'm using is the champion 2500 watt dual fuel inverter generator. It went for about six hundred bucks at Walmart. And parts and service from Champion is fantastic! 15.4 amps 120v Outlets and weighs 39 lb. Noise level is 54 decibels at 20 feet on eco mode setting. Run time is about 9 hours on 50% load with a 1.1 gallon tank.
Thanks Kevin, I'm about a year late to this party, but I enjoyed the video, liked and Subbed. I bought 1 of these 4 days ago to use along side my 12 year old Honda EU2000i. May decide to connect and run them together.

I think you would have no problem with that, as long as you dont plug them in at the same time, as the starting watts might be too much. plug one it, let it start up, then plug in the other and both should run.
I want to get one to run my DJ gear for outdoor events. 2 pretty big speakers, power my laptop & DJ controller…do you think this is a good one for that? It’s $549 at Harbor Freight right now for Memorial Day, they say it’s normally $749 🤷♂️
I'm on my way out to buy one. I bought a Craftsman 2500 I and it died after 24 hours of service. I would definitely recommend you not buy any Craftsman portable generators. It cost me $300 to get fixed. And still having problems with it is junk
It was $619 a few months ago (early 2024) I bought the $29 Inside Track yearly membership and got it 20% off (ended up costing about $495)...plus I get tons of coupons and early access to sales, free stuff, etc. Pretty good deal. Testing the generator out on a camping trip now and so far so good!

13.3 amps max. Watts/volts=amps. 1600/120=13.3

Craftsman is a brand, not a company. They'll slap the Craftsman label on any piece of junk that comes along.
Well done mate
Subbed! Thanks.
Can you run a welder on it (millermatic 141)
Might have been $499 in 2021. However, with Bidumbcomics you now get to spend $619. Thanks Joe.
How durable is the fuel line I had to change the fuel line on my larger 2000w predator generator
So dropping down too 80 watts that not good for sensitive equipment is it ? I thought the inverter kept the voltage stable
great reveiw
I'd like to run a small ac, maybe I need a larger 6500 watt ?
Do a review of the bigger one.
The funnel you used for oil, where did you purchase it?
it came with another generator I reviewed, the AI Power 200w
