I'd be interested to know if the driver/front-passenger elbow and shoulder room is as impressive as Mercedes are claiming. I find that the S and E classes (and the GLC) are very roomy. But the C, CLA, GLA, and old A class are really cramped. So the question is, does the new A class have not only more elbow/shoulder room in front as the old A class, but does it go above and beyond the room in the C class too?
Do all specs come with assist parking???
It does not look good without the amg trimline also the different leather/upholstery options don't seem to be available in the uk

So the A180D has a 1.5L Renault engine (all 114bhp of it) and almost everything you see in the interior of the car tested is an option. Example, std screens are 7” not the 10.25” seen in this car. My guess, the car as tested is closer to £40000 than £25000…
You do realise the car is on the mercedes website, The cars features which come in packages are about an extra £2300 on the standard diesel so the car makes out to he £28,000 not 40,000 phaha what are you saying for £40,000 you can buy a c-class amg
1983 the Merc 190 the same size as this had independent suspension as standard , today it is optional.

Does it still have the Renault engine?
Which hatchback is the most comfortable of them all ? No noise inside at high speeds and great suspension.
5 years later and the GLA has still not be changed

I have alot of money saved and hope to buy one in a few years, but what is the point if new models keep coming out!
I don't want to spend 25k on a car for there only to be a better model out the next year!!
Informative video which I did enjoy. However, I wanted info on cars available now and saw a list of 7 dealers. Each one wanted to know all about me when all I wanted to know was, which colour did they have available, why don't they list that?. Curiously all 7 dealers were quoting exact same price!

It’s not a VW Golf “Emissions Scandal” which unless you happen to live in the United States of America has not been satisfactorily resolved
It’s a3 pointed star with more tech and more style than the other 2 combined
The lights doesn't suit the car

I have an ”old gen” in the same colour, with night package and the AMG design package (inwards and outwards) and I’m really trying to like this new gen, but it looks more like something my mother would drive. It’s definitely not more sporty (lights, lines/body, side mirrors, grill, interior) and I’m not a fan of the new displays, even though I’m a tech guy, because in my opinion it feels more cheap. It’s like comparing a mechanical watch with a digital. The best of two worlds is nice/sporty mechanical pointers with digital information around it, which the ”old gen” pretty much has. I admit the new gen is a more practical version, for putting a baby’s carriage/stroller in the back and for driving your kids to school, but that’s exactly my point, it’s a mother’s car not something sporty and good looking.

Interior: Too much "posh" and "useless" technology has raised the price. Exterior: The old model looked so much better, more sporty. The new design is so trivial for Mercedes standard. What about the engines? 163 horsepower from a petrol 1.3L. Come on...
I'd much prefer the interior without all the cheap looking glossy black plastics everywhere. It makes it look like a toy. Replace all those black gloss panels with wood or brushed aluminium, or even just matte dark gray plastic instead, and I'll be happier.

Whereas, I think previous A-Class' interior was far more beautiful, but the exterior design was not that beautiful, especially when you consider that it was a Mercedes-Benz.

As good as the interior looks, it unfortunately feels very cheap compared to, for instance, a base model C class.
The inside looks more like a e class fuck me
it will again outclassed by the new a3 and bmw 1 series.
I miss the massive dashboards of the past. Those in cars like this or the current Audi A3 look too empty and not so high-value in my opinion. The emptiness reminds me of cheap small cars from the 90ies.
This is probably worse, that unshrouded display screen will probably cause distracting reflections in the side windows, it is the antithesis to the old SAAB blackout function.
Beautiful interior but no other compelling reason to buy this car. Pass

Okay interior if you can afford double prize for all the extras, however the glossy parts looks like what a Chinaman would find premium. To me it looks cheap and tacky. The exterior is a huge disaster on it's own. MB needs to get their act together.

The 2017 A class 180d SE auto is the worst car I've ever driven. Awful, slow sluggish unresponsive car. Should be banned !

Its like a boy-racer "tuning" with cheep Chinese tablets. They had to integrate it in the dash at least! AWFUL! In general I'm MB fan, but I find less and less things to like!
Diesel engine smoother than petrol? What is it with you british and diesel? Seems like you are paid to promote diesel engines when the world is slowly moving away from them.
FWD just is not luxury. I guessed the crowd that buy this generally aren't aware of anything other than the badge. Sad. The interior is nice but I can't help but think the golf is just better

Mercedes will discontinue the new a class ..it just won't sell. It's ugly but in a subtle way and that makes it even worse.
Cannot stand the instrument dash. Cannot stand this car end of.
