    I graduate with my BSN in December. You've helped me a lot during these past four years. I'll never forget "Can't see, can't spit, can't pee, can't shit" for anticholinergic drugs.
    Thank you so so much :)

    The videos are great -until they are cut short. With all due respect, I understand it is a hook to get people to buy your products, but there are multiple videos online about beta blockers. Not sure if this selling technique will turn away people or bring them closer to purchase.

    The optimal use of β-blockers has been shown to improve symptoms, reduce hospitalizations, induce left ventricular reverse remodelling, and increase survival in HFrEF patients [9,10]. Despite the proven benefit of β-blockers in chronic HF, they are often underutilized in current clinical practice [11,12].Aug 24, 2021

    Question for you: If beta-blockers are given to relieve congestive heart failure, why would it be held for patients with heart failure?

    • @SimpleNursing
      @SimpleNursing  3 года назад +7

      Key term on the nclex is "worsening heart failure", we do not give beta blockers, since it can slow the heart & decrease CO. :) Have you taken our free quizzes yet at simplenursing.com?

    I've been on metropolo for 28 years and I've been on propafenone for 15 years and now all of a sudden I'm having severe bradycardia 30s &40s and they're wanting to stop the metoprolol but every time you stop it then I start having sinus tachycardia or I'm unable to function without the medication because my heart rate is going to fast. So is there an alternative medicine or what is my options? I was originally started on medications at 18 because of AF

    Since metoprolol gave me scary side effects i'm scared to start a new one.. does all beta blocker cause similar side effects? I took it for tachycardia and the side effects were mostly mental like confusion, panic attacks, sweat attacks, and depression.

    Im confused why you say not to give with copd/asthma etc folks. My instructor says beta blocker is PREFERRED fro these folks. (Specifically Metroprolol. Can you share your reasoning?

    • @SimpleNursing
      @SimpleNursing  4 года назад +2

      It really depends on what type of beta blocker you give - non selective block the lungs too.

      @@SimpleNursing I have asthma and take Coreg.. Shortness of breath once in a while and I just use my albuterol.. I take Advair 500/50 for my preventative.. I used to take Atenolol and had similar things happen.. Low blood pressure is the key for me, so I put up with the side effects.. I lift plenty of weights and get my cardio in..So yes, asthma patients can take beta blockers, but there is a price.

      yeah because metoprolol is cardioselective, he didn't include that some are selective. propanolol on the other hand is nonselective which can cause a bronchospasm
