    A message from Kristine, founder of NurseInTheMaking📣
    My name is Kristine and I survived nursing school…and you can too!
    Nurse In The Making was inspired during my time in nursing school. I immediately struggled and decided to create my own study guides. These guides have helped me personally as well as many others make nursing school just a little more manageable. I hope you find comfort knowing that everyone struggles at times. Nursing school is emotionally and physically draining. I hope these informative, clean, and simple guides help you navigate through all the information because there is A LOT of it in nursing school.
    Happy Studying Future Nurses. Don't forget to enjoy the journey!

      I think the bigger problem is that it's not taught systematically. It's just "you better memorize these!" I never once heard ABCD's of antihypertensives. They never quiz Angioedema for ACE Inhibitors, they want to know if they cause nausea, constipation, drowziness, or watery eyes. They don't ask the stuff that is taught so you're just guessing 24/7.

    whats the difference between generic name and trade name? Im not doing pharamclogy

    • @NurseInTheMaking
      @NurseInTheMaking  7 месяцев назад

      Great question! A generic and trade name are the same medications containing the same active ingredients. However, a trade name, or brand name, is one that is protected by patents or exclusivities. Inactive ingredients (ex. flavor or preservatives) can differ between the two, and generic medications are usually a cheaper cost to purchase. I hope this helps clear up this information! 🙂

    Beta Blockers treat more than just HTN?

    • @NurseInTheMaking
      @NurseInTheMaking  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi there! Yes, beta blockers manage other conditions besides HTN, such as angina pectoris, tachyarrhythmias, MI, glaucoma, heart failure, and hyperthyroidism. They can also be used prophylactically for migraines. I hope this helps answer your question! 🙂

    Digoxin does not affect the blood pressure.

    • @NurseInTheMaking
      @NurseInTheMaking  10 месяцев назад +1

      Sorry for any confusion with understanding digoxin. This medication will not be given as a primary medication for hypertensive patients. But, due to the mechanism of action of this medication which includes improved cardiac output and circulation, decreased edema, decreased heart rate, and decreased constriction of veins and arterioles, blood pressure is often lower than prior to administration of digoxin. I hope this helps to better understand this effect. Best of luck to you! 🙂
