Just ordered mine - selling my Boss GT-100. Time to get into IR's and direct to system output! Heard it at a worship conference and I was super impressed
Just ordered one today!!! After watching tons of videos for months my other alternatives were headrush mx5, line6 POd Go, nux mg 30 & donner arena 2000. Finally had to go with the Valeton GP-200 which fits my preference and taste in music!!! Cant wait to grab it...
Hi. I am also a (lefty) guitarist in SA with a MM Luke and Valeton GP200 which I bought as a back up for my Helix. The GP200 is seemingly very well made, easy to use, looks good and has great tones - well mostly. However, with my particular unit, there is an unacceptable and annoying latency when switching between saved presets. If for example, I have a clean tone patch on A and an overdrive tone patch for solos on B, and if I switch from A to B the clean tone still persists momentarily and then the overdriven tone swells into place. Although this may only be for less than a second or so, it is distinctly audible, sounds terrible and for me at least, renders the unit unusable for live gigging. This because in my band I tend to play clean rhythm and then switch to overdrive/distortion for solos. Let us please remember that a multieffects unit is supposed to replace individual pedals, which, in my experience, have no perceptible latency when switching on or off. This GP200 is potentially a fine unit, especially at the price, but my own unit is compromised by this problem. I contacted Valeton and they are aware of the annoying latency, apparently due to the use of algorithms to change patches and they say they are to prioritise with future updates.
so as a work around...... try using your amps clean tone for your cleans and only using the valeton for dirt and effects.. since it does do the 4 cable method you can add your choruses and delays and reverbs thru the effects loop but put your amp models and dirty pedals into the front of the amp...... and vwallah... no latency issues cuz your not switching thru "patches"... in the middle of songs....... just set up like ten different configurations (or 20) to switch in and out before the songs start or during transitions but use it mostly like a pedal board... your switching times will be almost instantaneous and imperseptable to the audience.... at least thats how i work my rig and it works like a champ 👍.... peace✌😎
Hi Peter. The recording was done 2 ways in order to give a good indication of the sound that can be expected from the GP-200 alone and not to be influenced by an amp's tone. 1 - directly from the GP-200 into the DAW. 2 - Room sound recorded coming from the Yamaha HS-8 studio monitor pair. I hope this helps!
@@ValetonSouthAfrica-gx2nh It would be nice to see some videos on making patches for different music. Other fx pedals like helix stomp ect have so much content on them where the valeton gp200 nothing really on them.
