It did sound really good, the SLO, Mesa and Engl were good tones and could be dialed in nicely. The pitch shifting was pretty impressive and it didn't really seem to have any DSP limitations to speak of. For what it is, seems like a great unit. Perhaps the GE250 would be more useful with it's tone capture through the app but overall, especially for the $349 price point, should be a great, inexpensive way to get into quality tone dialing.

The Mustang floor is unbeatable for Fender tones. It just lacks drive options and the higain amps are poor. I just use my Mustang floor for recording when I want a Bassman, Deluxe or Princeton.
Unless I've missed something in the few reviews out there, the GP-200 lacks the concept of "snapshots" or "scenes" within a patch, which allow you to toggle many parameters at once. As such, you have to rely on switching to an entirely new patch, which will kill your verb/delay trails and maybe even cause a silence gap of a few hundred milliseconds. So the GP-200 entirely blows the Pod GO out of the water on price (assuming $350 will stick), but lacks this functionality. I'd say that the Headrush MX5 was closer competitor (despite mismatched form factor), but that's been out of stock everywhere and NOW has a street price $100 more than it was a week ago!

Great video Taylor, as always. Do you have any plans to make a comparation between this and any of the Amperos??? I think they use the same amp emulations. Thanks!!!
I definitely needed to drastically scoop the hell out of the mids and up the bass a lot on both the 10 band eq and global eq (bass on amp sim, not 10 band) and up the presence quite a bit. Also, i had to pinpoint a sharp zappiness in the lower treble frequencies and now it's really good. Still trying to get my noise gate perfected. Went with EVH amp and cab, going into my Peavey JSX.
I know that you ran it through the boss head power amp it would be great to see this rand off that power station from Seymour Duncan duncan or something along those lines that's just a dedicated power amp but has a little bit more EQ control on it
I mean it has as much lag as anything else I've used. I think switching lag is pretty minimal now. I didn't see any similar function to L6's snapshots, but take that with an enormous grain of salt because I didn't have time to really dive in and learn all the ins and outs.

Why would you want an overdrive in the effects loop? If the effects loop was movable and you moved it to the front of the amp anyway? What would the difference be?
@@Proganaut1989 I wanted the analog overdrive pedal to be "after" the built in digital overdrive in the Pod Go so it would cut through the mix (band) more. The GP-200 did the same thing plus the FX loop was not moveable but I did find that putting my pedal into the input of the Pod Go for some reason the noise gate then worked with the external pedal as long as it was not in the loop (kinda weird) and it still cut through very well although I'm sure not quite as much as having the analog pedal last in the chain (overdrive-wise) but it's for backup anyway so it works for me. My overdrive pedal costed almost as much as the Pod Go lmao so yeah, I wanted to get as much of the sound and tone from that as possible
Oh, and I did try going from the send of the fx loop in the Pod Go to the overdrive pedal and then into the front of the amp but again nothing but hiss and noise :(

Can this be done on Valeton, or not? It would be interesting to see such a comparison. It is very important! And this is not mentioned anywhere.
From this demo, I would not consider this in the same category as the Pod Go when it comes to sound. This could cost 50 bucks and I’d still recommend the PG over it if you play live shows.
@@BobbyCulpepper.srv3fender I play fairly straightforward metal/metal core so I just need a good amp, wah, delay, reverb, gate, boost, EQ and compressor. Did they provide a pre-release manual to you? I haven't found one online yet, and I am curious to know what the MIDI functionality includes. I assume it can change presets with PCs, and it can probably turn on/off blocks with CCs. But can you assign a CC to a parameter and send a CC to alter the parameter value (like in HX Stomp for example)? Any MIDI info would be appreciated.
Hi Taylor, Thanks for the presentation. As an old Death Metal shredder, the significant boss HM2 must of course be on board. I already have a few devices in my household, but the Boss HM2 is just never there. They load hundreds of amps on it and each one adds another 5 amps with the next firmware. But nobody has the significant HM2 with them. As a question in the round, is there any such board that has a reasonably acceptable HM2 in it? Except Kemper and AxeFX. Could they? cheers
Great demo, Taylor! I’m about to move so there’s a part of me that’s thinking about going down to a single amp with a floorboard like this. The other part of me doesn’t want to get rid of my Peavey XXL to find it, though, so there’s that. Haha
snapshot (line6's trademark "scene" feature) is life. it's eric clapton to angus young to randy rhoads in one patch/preset, each a toe swing away. absolutely an indispensable feature on stage. killer is a strong word, what's the point of let's say hypothetically a cheaper price and slightly better model sound if it makes your life harder going live?
did he say he wants more amp tweaking options to edit, and then say its hard to justify if the unit is more expensive than the pod go, the extra options aren't worth it? Also, did he ever talk about which one sounded better over different styles? Nope
I notice you didn't include a demo of any clean settings this pedal has as a preset. Is this pedal even capable of a clean setting? This pedal may be great at balls to the wall high gain settings how ever I happen play a more diversified styles of music. In my opinion it is a more biased review.
Nice review, but sorry that we don't have the same expantatians of music... Anyway I blelieve you like if and I also beleve that it will be useful for us who is just to trying to Rock out!
The next thing will be the improvements of the "Tone Capture" thing and made good studio algorithm like the Strymon Deco (something that Line 6 and Hotone are bringing more and more)... So for me, it's better to be still with my hacked Zoom G1Xon, a good od (I use also a pt2399 delay by ICA pedals and my OD are a 3-in 1 pedal with a LPB1 with a screaming bird that for it's just a HPF mod switch + Green Ringer + RAT) and before the digital I use the Electro Harmonix (2x high voltage 12ax7) Black-Finger to bring to life the sound. When Hotone or Line 6 bring something with tone capture for a good price I'll move from my Zoom (or maybe put the Zoom in the loop of these units cause the effects are very good).

It sounds amazing and through a power amp and Mesa cab, no one can even tell it’s a modeler. Form factor is much more important than DSP because I need quick, simple switching during fast songs while people are jumping around.
@@NelsonBlakeII i'm playing metal too, mostly trivium-ish stuff. Do you think PG would sound significantly better than say a Valeton Gp200 or NUX MG30? I just need simple stuffs like amp modeler noise gate etc. Thanks
@@jawara6263 Look up Leo Gibson's channel for an excellent comparison. I think the PG is the best choice. It already sounds great, but if you're going front of house, the ability to upgrade the cabs allows you to put those excellent amps in the best light. I have no complaints as a gigging metal player.
So how do you think this measures up against the hotone ampero?
I currently own a Zoom G5N, is it worth selling mine and getting one of this Gp-200? Thanks
Where did u get the stand for the pedal
Could they? cheers
The Pod GO has an HM2 I believe 🤔
Great demo, Taylor! I’m about to move so there’s a part of me that’s thinking about going down to a single amp with a floorboard like this. The other part of me doesn’t want to get rid of my Peavey XXL to find it, though, so there’s that. Haha
I have super biased advice on this lol. The only amp I over sold, I regretted... soooo 😂
*_I’m not sure how the XXL compares to the XXX, but I regret selling my XXX._*
Это до сих пор - лучший гитарный процессор за эту цену!
It’s amazing how you can hear any differences. To me it all just sounds like metal, no offense
snapshot (line6's trademark "scene" feature) is life. it's eric clapton to angus young to randy rhoads in one patch/preset, each a toe swing away.
absolutely an indispensable feature on stage. killer is a strong word, what's the point of let's say hypothetically a cheaper price and slightly better model sound if it makes your life harder going live?
did he say he wants more amp tweaking options to edit, and then say its hard to justify if the unit is more expensive than the pod go, the extra options aren't worth it? Also, did he ever talk about which one sounded better over different styles? Nope
I notice you didn't include a demo of any clean settings this pedal has as a preset. Is this pedal even capable of a clean setting? This pedal may be great at balls to the wall high gain settings how ever I happen play a more diversified styles of music. In my opinion it is a more biased review.
Haha Very nice how you did this video, man. 😂 It's Fun.
Clean tones???????
Nah... Not on this channel buddy :)
Glad I got the Headrush MX5!👍
Can it do dual amps in stereo?
No. You can only do single serial chaining. No parallel chaining at all...
Good video/review
Nice review, but sorry that we don't have the same expantatians of music...
Anyway I blelieve you like if and I also beleve that it will be useful for us who is just to trying to Rock out!
Better than nux mg30?
that axe almost look like a scythe🔥
I have stock G1Xon too, but not using it much. What hacks are you talking about? Did you see any improvements in these hacks?
@@ThimiosPapakyriakopoulos you're able to have all the Multistomp and G(B)1 series effects on it... Even bass effects and some more synth effects, more amps to choose.
what is the guitar brand he uses through this video
Judging by the head stock, it's a solar. With that much distortion, any DIY cigar box will do...
@@Juicexlx Solar doesn't make that body or headstock style
quick question on the gp200 and 100 can you load your own amp models into it or is it just cabs?
Just cabs. When someone creates a device on which you can load amp modellers (for example ml-soundlab) it would be a real revolution.
Thomann is selling this unit at 309€ now that I checked. Still, all multi-fx units in the market are great. So great that choosing is very difficult.
If only it had snapshots or something similar. Sounds really good
Taylor going full on Meshuga 11:30. HAHA.
