    • @smokinvalves
      @smokinvalves Год назад

      @@PaulBondMusic It certainly has. My attempts to get on with MFX floorboards started with the Boss ME-6, got burned. Then a Korg valve-something, got burned. Then a Line 6 XT Live, nope. Each and every one of those units had time-based and modulation effects that were fantastic for their time and certainly overkill for live heavy rock/metal application, but the amp models were uniformly dreadful. The GP200 (and family) feels like the first Multi FX that isn't aimed at guitarists in the wedding band industry (talented as they are).

    Hello Paul, love your videos. I'm just getting started with the valeton gp200, i want to use it for live gigging. In the manual i can't make out how to assign a factory patch or a self created one to the footswitches on the board. I would like to use say 3 or 4 soundpatches and combine them with a few stomps. So for example a clean sound, a lead sound and a ambient delay/chorus sound. And spice those up with boost and chorus or harmonizer pedal. I would like to learn how to set up this device to do so, by using only the device without the software. Grtz Bas from Holland

    Thanks for the video. My process for my GP200LT (I also have the JR for the foot pedal) is to eliminate everything except dist and amp+cab, and make a set of presets just including those element.
    Then for each amp, I turn off the dist and search for the best implementation of the amp/cab selected. Once that is done, I top it off (or not) with the most compatible distortion. The Veleton is incredible for this.
    Only after that do I begin experimenting with reverb, chorus, etc....
    YMMV

      I will certainly make a mental note of making a video about this.
      I'm not into looping myself, but it might be interesting for me to give it a go.

    Awesome, thanks for sharing. Is the USB recording of the GP-200 not so great, or why do you record from XLR out with a 2nd device?

    • @PaulBondMusic
      @PaulBondMusic  3 месяца назад

      The USB works absolutely fine, but it is stuck to only ONE sample rate (44.1), and I tend to run at 48. This creates a mis-match and creates issues.
      (I'm now wondering if they've updated this... I'll get back to you!).

    Hi
    I'm a 65 Y/o Disabled Veteran finally decided to learn Guitar, and am at the very beginning stages of learning, Acoustic guitar, although I do have a inexpensive Telecaster knock off to explore. I have a Gretch 9200 Boxcar Resonator, and a Epiphone Pro-1 Acoustic. I recently purchased a Gretch 5700 Electromatic Lap Steel because I love the sound from Hank William'sish tunes, to The Pink Floyd Gillmore Lap Steel sounds, and everything in between. Looking at different Multi Effects pedals to use with my Lap Steel and really like this one for its vast array of options. Is there any way you can do a video of the 200 through the 200, and maybe review a 200-Jr.
    Thanks !

      Hiya - first of all... thank you for your service! ... and good on you for taking up the guitar. I hope it's going well for you. I'm a MASSIVE Gilmour fan!
      I still love my GP200 and the one thing I'll say is: I don't see the point in buying the Junior version. There's not a HUGE difference in price, and the regular GP200 is SO SO good! that said, I've never tried a Jr, so don't REALLY know its limitations.

    Hopefully it wil sound as good with humbuckers, since i don't own any strat or single coil guitars.

    I have been thinking of buy a Valeton GP200 ....you are doing a great job on the demo's. I wonder if I might ask for an opinion, am thinking of running it through a powerstation straight into a 1x 12 cab. Do you see any downside to this?

    • @PaulBondMusic
      @PaulBondMusic  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the comment.
      I actually DO see a downside to this!
      You see, the Valeton either needs to go straight into a mixing desk/PA or it needs to go into a FRFR cabinet. If you are not sure what they are, FRFR cabs are essentially little PA systems that look like a guitar cab.
      Presuming you are talking about a Freyette Powerstation, the Valeton doesn't need attenuating, and although it'll need amplyfying for gigging purposes, you don't want it going into a traditional guitar amp or guitar speaker.
      I hope to do a video about all this soon.

    • @philipcox8621
      @philipcox8621 9 месяцев назад

      @@PaulBondMusic just want to update you briefly. I got the cab and power amp pedal. Hooked it all up and just played without altering any GP200 pre-sets.
      The volume and clarity is absolutely there, the sound is incredible. I can honestly say this is the best set up I have ever had. I would seriously recommend anyone looking for a cheap versatile rig to explore this.

    Hey Asti, John told me how well you rate the Vlaeton GP200, personally I bought a Line 6 Helix LT a few months ago and couldn't be happier with it, I've also got a shit ton of IRs if you want me to email em to you, free of course...one thing I love about the Helix is that I can load 125 IRs which is super handy! I actually tried a Kemper but didn't like it compared to my Helix! I also us a FRFR Xitone Active Wedge speaker...I couldn't recommend it more! Great song at the end!

    • @PaulBondMusic
      @PaulBondMusic  Год назад +2

      Yes - the Helix have rave reviews. I've never tried one personally, but I've heard great things.
      Thanks for the kind offer of the IR's... but like I say on this video... pick one, two or maybe THREE amps that you're happy with... Same goes for cab's!
      With this Valeton, I'm simply not in need of having thousands of different options. I don't actually WANT thousands of different options come to that! LOL

    Hi Paul. I've got my gp200. Just made a start installing the gp200 software on my computer. When I switch on the gp200 and activate the software it takes a full 60 seconds to load up before I can use the software to control the device from the computer.. It also drops out sometimes after 20 seconds.. I'm trying a higher quality usb C cable.. Bit of a disappointing start.. Still got plenty of time to return it..
    Best
    George..

    • @PaulBondMusic
      @PaulBondMusic  Год назад +1

      I would say it will almost certainly be the cable.
      My software probably takes about 10-15 seconds to connect to the unit. Once it's connected, it's solid as a rock.

    • @georgewilkins4231
      @georgewilkins4231 Год назад +1

      Paul I've changed to a quality usb C and it's stable. Takes 20 seconds to connect then loads in 2 - 3 seconds.. Good enough..
