Jennifer - I have watched your videos for years, and am always inspired by your creativity. I often find myself clicking on your links to supplies and tools to purchase the latest and greatest - and this video is no exception! THANK YOU for providing your reviews and techniques, I look forward to each video. ALSO, those of you who have been in the paper crafting world for a while might have the Lifestyle Letterpress plastic plates. THEY WILL WORK in this BetterPress system! You need to remove all three shims from the chase and use the adhesive sheets that typically came with the plates to temporarily adhere them to the platform. Sooooo much easier than the ink rolling you used to have to do! So excited to revive my old stash with this new tool!!

I am hoping that they come out with an elegant alphabet set. That would allow for gorgeous monogram cards. The grids on the chase would make it so easy to line up letters.

I have a particular fondness for "letterpress" having been an actual offset press operator who was also a real phototypesetter, and a by-hand technical illustrator + camera operator, all the trades supporting graphic design, all prior to the release of the personal computer (which seemed to make "everyone" into a graphic designer, lol...) LOVED hearing your authentic reaction.
I was taught to use a letter press with a roller when I was in college. We made our own plates. When I received a text message from SB about it - I wondered if my etched plates would work with it - I sent SB an email asking for the thickness of their plates - I definitely think they will work by what they told me - but I decided shortly prior to their response to pre-order it, without knowing if it would be a good match or not. I felt it would be a good tool in my crafting arsenal to have. But their response that arrived 5 days later is just icing on the cupcake! 😀
Thanks for the comprehensive review. I understand your excitement, but I have to admit that this is one "tool" I can probably live without. I love the look, but the tool is only the beginning of the cost of this system. I think I'll be watching from the sidelines on this one.

Oh my, oh WOW! I saw my first video of this Betterpress machine this morning by Simon Hurley - and ordered it, more paper, and another plate right away. (I have been making cards for so many years that I am very eager to find NEW ways to make different types of cards. I’ve been searching for and making mostly new fun fold cards lately, just something to make my cards more interesting. This machine also fits the bill for me!) Now I’ve just watched your video with so many new techniques and beautiful photography that shows the debossed designs so clearly, and I’m even more excited that I purchased it….and bought many more things! Great video showcasing this tool. Too many offerings by every company IMHO. Didnt jump on wax seals & dont think this is for me either. I can letterpress just fine with my glimmer machine. Thank you for showing this!
Hi Jennifer, I have one of these on order from the mom & pop reseller I go to. In the class I watched, you can replace the shims, bottom plate and cover plate with standard plates then you can die cut with it. You NEVER want to use the shims and plates that come with the unit for die cutting. You can also use it as a platform to stamp with our regular stamps. Washers from the hardware store work great to hold down the paper.
I was actually wishing that I wouldn’t like this. I actually love it. I was thinking that maybe I would wait until Christmas to buy one, then you showed it being able to work with foiling too. I can’t wait to play with this! Thanks for the awesome demonstration Jennifer.
Love that you can use dye inks with this system . Curious about using hammermill paper with this system or watercolor paper. Thanks so much for an excellent video as always. I am a foil lover and not sure I need another system but it was great to learn about it. You are the queen of great reviews!!
I remember back when I got my first big shot. It came with letter press dies, Ink, and a brayer. I was new to card making at the time, so didn't use it to It's full potential. Thank you for the wonderful intro. Because of my budget, I stopped buying new systems and still apply foil with my laminator!!! I may consider this system because it performs multiple functions. As long as you don't have to use their proprietary ink and paper, it might be affordable. Want to see more....

I can't see the difference between this press and using a regular cutting die to make an impression. We can use our cutting dies machine and our cutting dies with a rubber mat to get the same results. You've shown it many times on your channel.

I've always loved the clean, elegant look of letterpress. It's exciting to see a product like this that can achieve the look so well! I may wait to see what designs they continue to come out with before taking the plunge. The fact that the dies can be used with foil it nice, too! That floral foil card was stunning!!

I plan to experiment with Fabriano Artistico hot press 100% cotton watercolor paper when I get my bundle. I’m hoping that paper works
