I loved this video and many others you have produced. I lost my puppy dog about 6 months ago. She was a German Shepard and LOVED watching watching Grizz on your videos. I have never seen a dog pay attention to a computer screen like she did. She would stand, front paws on my knee and just love what you and Grizz were doing. I will forever miss her. We have another German Shepard now that takes no interest to that type of stuff. All of my dogs have been rescues, and this one is just happy to find a home. I will forever miss the barking of my last German Shepard every time she saw Grizz, but will always love the laid back nature of our new rescue.
Does anyone else pause the video, go make a cup of coffee when Alexis has a cup made on an open fire. The landscape here is outstanding! Thank you for this content.
Haha thanks so much!
No, but now that you mention it I'll have to start watching her videos in the morning.
Grizz is the quality control supervisor, monitoring every step of the process. Go Grizz. 🐕
I thought my favorite shot was the Oatmeal Breakfast Grizz Nostril scene.. but then, it happened.. Grizz in the canoe, chin on the bar, basking in the sun.. and The Grizz Nostril close up 🤣🤣🤣 great trip. Great video. Great Joy. Great great great 😁
Exactly when I liked this video!
I WOULD LIKE TOO THANK YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND VERY MUCH FOR TAKING ALL OF US ALONG FOR THE RIDE. THE SCENERY IS VERY BEAUTIFUL, GREAT JOB ON THE CAMERA. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH.
Good to see you smiling so much. Enjoyable video. 👍
Your dog looks so fit & healthy. He must really enjoy double the pleasure of the interaction with his Humans & being able to expend energy & use his senses in the great outdoors simultaneously!!!
I think it's interesting that the portages are in meters and not rods. Honestly, no matter how short the distance, you still have to unload and tote everything. The short portages are such a tease. Also, you're so polite when the fire goes out right at the beginning. I would not have been. Griz is living the dream on these trips.
Oh, I've gotta tell you, that logging gator would've turned into a still down here in Georgia.
I like that sleepyhead Grizz while being " shuttled " to the next camping spot !!!!!
Liking the movement of the canoe and the water sounds puts Grizz quite the dreamy mode !!!!
What a cutie !!!!
Every time I see you guys in Ontario paddling, I’m blown away by all the portages! Way harder for you to paddle out there than here haha. We can just sit on a river for a month and never get out! Great video! Grizzly is the ultimate canoe dog. He’s so chill.
That was a pretty cool trip, thanks for taking us along!!!
I've been watching your videos for a bit and notice that vids are getting better since your breakup. And too be silly about a comment,,, I didn't realize you had so many teeth Lol! You're smiling so Much! And giggling a bit like a school girl! You two are a good match up. And Thank you Brandon for bringing happiness to this Ladys life. She deserves it and I'm saying you deserve it too. And trying not to sound like an old romantic, when you two were dismantling the tent the first time and were coming together with the pole sticks it was almost like The Lady And The Tramp with the spaghetti ! Priceless. Both of you work on staying happy.
Hahah thanks so much Mike! This comment just made my day 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks for part two of that very special trip ❣️ Love to see your brightening up again ❣️ and Grizz is enjoying as well 😁
Always love to see Grizz he is such a cute , well behaved dog, Love how a canoe ride makes him sleep, lol . Beautiful area you canoed awesome camp spots look's like a lot of fun and adventure. so glad your having a wonderful time with Brandon on your trips . keep the videos coming .
Thanks so much Sue!
I really admire your decision to invest in a strong yet lightweight canoe. I didn't discover solo boating until I was in my 40's. I quickly advanced from recreational flatwater canoeing to class 4 whitewater trips from my home in rural Western Mass to multiple days as far North as Northern Maine. I ended up with 7 canoes & 3 kayaks in my stable. I know, a little OCD, but the construction & hull styles ranged from Kevlar Hybrid solo gliders to wilderness tripping canoes like the Mad River Voyageur 17' 4" holding up to 1100 lbs with a 6" freeboard & only weighing 59 lbs, to extreme whitewater solo & solo/tandem canoes to keyhole & sit-on-top sea kayaks. Each boat that I added was a unique hull style & specific purpose boat. Now, at 71, I only have 5 boats left. I hope to introduce my 3 grandchildren to canoeing & kayaking when this COVID thing passes ( if it ever does )!!!
Grizz does so good in the canoe, what a good pup.
"Think light thoughts!" lol! Holy guacamole, I know that feeling!
Excellent video, thanks for taking us along.
Hahah Glad someone out there can relate!
Who else cringed when they bottomed out? Been there! Kind of looking forward to getting the first scratches on my latest canoe! They are not scratches, they are memories! Awesome content, can't wait for canoe tripping season!
im glad to see you smiling?happy!!! very beautiful country there. looked like you 2 were having a great time & that is the important thing in life, life is to short to do anything but have fun!!! thank you for taking us along for the trip.. stay safe
🙏🏼🙏🏼
Awesome trip!! Looks like you had a great time. Griz is the biggest ham!! His facial expressions are amazing. Early Spring and late Fall after a couple of freezes are my favorite times to get out. No bugs!! Hope life brings you the best!! And by the way - I like the way you film, it seems so spontaneous and natural. Great job!!
I remember going past that campsite at 23:50 and seeing vivid flashes of my assured demise if I tried to get my gear up there. Luckily I had the daylight to push past Perley Dam. The sites along the third (400m) portage are quite nice!
You're quite right that the steepness isn't captured on film. Kudos for getting up there!
There's nothing like nature, feeling the cool breeze, sleeping under the stars. Beats living in the city!
"Had shepherds pie and went to sleep" 👀 is that all.. I'm messin 😂😂
I agree, these are very relaxing to watch. Some of us are stuck at home and this is the next best thing.
Thank you!
Another enjoyable, relaxing canoe/camping adventure. Awesome shots of Grizz being Grizz . Also want to wish you and your new Bo many happy years and great adventures together.
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I used to maintain the North park loops back when I was a MNR JR in the summer of 88’-89’.
We were getting flown into the North lakes by turbo otters with our canoes, scythes and sandviks (type of axe). Then left to survive for 2 weeks, living off fish and pancake batter. At the age of 17-18 there was no better life than living and loving it in Algonquin park. BTW you are a strong paddler.
So cool! Thank you for sharing!
Your videos are always so relaxing!... And the timing is perfect, that's exactly what I was hoping to find when opening RUclips tonight!
Wooooow!!!
I don’t think I’ve seen that big of a smile in your face.....ever!!😉
Great video
Haha thanks Shorty, I have great company :D
Glad to see you are ok, things are not so great here, but pitch and roll with the circumstances till next time.
One foot in front of the other eh!
Never seen a dog more comfortable in a canoe! Wow you guys make it look so easy. I'm so glad I watched this because we didn't make it catfish last year. Thanks for sharing 😊
Loved this trip and your new, at least to me, canoeing partner. Grizz in the canoe is so cute and awesome too. He has grown into so much the Dude. As always thank you so much for taking us along. I really enjoyed this one. Peace Out from Angry Old HIppie Hermit at Old HIppieland.
Awe thanks so much Gina!!
You are laughing a lot more! Good to see and hear! Can't wait to get out there.
This woman motivates me to get outside.
Thank you, I needed a fix. Just love watching you guys in the wild.
Can’t believe I’m only just learning about eating oatmeal in the package... game changer! 😂
Haha right!! Zero dishes, it's very freeing!
Great to see a good time together. Thanks for taking us along...
Griz is such a good dog waiting for the OK to eat. My dogs faces are in the bowl when I put it down. He was cracking me up as to how mellow he was during the trip. He is such a good canoe dog. I am not telling you how to have a relationship, but you give into things like no peas in shepherds pie and soon you are giving into everything. Shepherds pie with no pea! what's next, no mashed potato
Enjoyed the video. I think it's so cool when you come across those artifacts from the logging days. Hoping to see the alligator on Burntroot, maybe this Fall.
Thanks Doug! Hope you get to see it, super cool thing to see!
Nice video, is it just me or do others watch Grizz more than his parents? Coolest dog on the net!
Grizz is the star of the show for sure haha
I,am only here for grizz!!! And yep he,s the coolest dog on the web....HI CAREENA!! 😉😉😉😁😁 i,am bummed careena..i never even got the chance to send in my "adventure partner application" but by the smiles i saw on your face in this video it,s ok..
i love Grizz.
@@stevenlennon12 Yes he's one of the cutest dogs on the internet. I love him too. I wish someday i can keep a puppy like him too 😁
Great content as always! I love that when mishaps happen you share those with your audience, it’s genuine and funny (when no one is hurt or inconvenienced of course!) and I love the Grizz close ups! Such a handsome boy. Our Jack Russel has the same orange pack as him, it works awesome! Can’t wait for the next! Stay safe and take care!
Hahah thanks girl!!
Awww man. This is making me long for the cooler weather. Here in Aus it’s been HOT. Minus the crazy floods recently. Bring on the autumn canoe trips!!
Thanks for posting! love seeing you happy, girl!
Haha thanks Becca! Wishing you cooler thoughts!! Bet you have a killer tan I’m super jealous of though lol 😄
Gotta love the meditative feeling you get from splitting fire wood 😍
Its the best!
I see Grizz as Camp Security.. haha Great Vid Keep them coming.
Grizz has the best life. I never been so jealous of a dog before lol

Another great segment. Can not wait to get out and kayak this summer!
The bank looked very steep at 23:57! Thanks again for the videos! Edit: "Think light thoughts. Oh my" and please remember to give Griz a scratch for us.
You three are a great team. Love this video!!
Excellent video work! My wife and I just bought a used canoe and our goal over the next few years is to work ourselves up to the point where we can make the trip to see the alligator.
Awewome vidoe. Very peaceful and relaxing. Thanks for sharing. Griz just chillin in the canoe snoozing. Lol.. love it. Love from Michigan . Take care
Great vids. I know from watching that Grizz is a lovely natured dog, however , he looks a toughie. Great stuff.
Killer video once again. So relaxing to watch reminds me of warmer spring days
Thanks Andrew!!

Such beautiful country!Looks like you had a great time! Live, laugh and love! Hugs to you and Grizz!
Great trip! I got behind and I'm trying to binge watch to get caught up... You seem to be having such an awesome time! Thanks so very much for bringing me along!
Nice trip ,great footage, good teamwork
I think it so awesome how you are so wilderness oriented and the pleasure you take and being in nature. You remind me so much of my youngest son. He lives and works in Telluride, CO and goes on excursions not unlike what you do. He does a lot of desert camping which is quite different but fun nonetheless. Keep enjoying life and please keep the awesome content coming.
That's so cool! Thanks for watching!
... Was excited to see part 2 ,, some awesome water time ,, so Grizz was just along for the ride ?? Oh maybe he was navigator ....lol..shots of Grizz were great ,, comfortable in the canoe ,,or that majestic shot on the bank with his pack on ... handsome dog ..
The stop at the logging alligator was cool and interesting ,, I have never heard of them and have wondered how the process was done over the crossings .... thanks for the lesson ,, I love seeing the old monuments of yester year ...
.. Looks like your new friend Brandon is "Grizz" approved .... nice to see you laugh and enjoying the outing ... lucky guy ,, you are a very unique and special woman .. ... Hope weather and all other conditions are good this year ,, hope to see and get as much backcountry time as possible...
..... Stay Safe and God Bless .....

Always great seeing your videos thanks for sharing
Great videos. My family enjoys your channel!
Awesome! Thank you!
You guys rock 👍. Beautiful trip.
Joined the sub list today - Grizz in total chill mode as you all rowed away did it. Thanks for sharing your adventure, this is truly helping me cope with life in the big city (Los Angeles). I am about two more vids away from going ex-pat and moving to Canada. Between you, and a couple other Canadian bushcrafter/adventurers...the desire to get away grows stronger by the day. I feel is need to test my mettel in the field so badly. Finding a partner who accepts my independence and tenacity would be icing on the cake. Thank you so much for posting your vids, its one thing to record, and a totally massive effort to edit and post. I have done it... so I get it.
You are so kind Kat! Thank you so much for the encouragement. I can't imagine living in a big city but I hope that if it doesn't make you happy that you are able to take that step and get outta there!! Life's too short! Cheers my friend!
Hi Careena, thank you👍great trip, you guys had a blast I bet👊Grizz being his usual adorable self😊stay safe, stay well my friends ✌️
“How dare you go out.” I’ve never started a fire like that before. I’m super stoked to try it this year. I may have a few more choice words if it doesn’t work. Haha! It’s the little things.
Hell yeah, get after it ;) 💪🏼 Thanks so much for watching!
Cedar with a tail wind!? Nice! Looked like a fun trip👍
Haha the stars lined up or something eh! Was stoked to have a tail wind!!
Been waiting all week to see part 2! Thank you as always 😁. Also placed a order last week for two puukko’s from Saku, so thank you for the recommendation as well 🖤
Thank you so much Kenneth!! And that's so awesome!! Saku does amazing work you will not be disappointed!!
So makes me want to get out on the water paddling again. Soon I hope. One thing I always did on camping canoe trips is to lash, tie or clip your gear to the thwart . Nothing could be worse than tipping and watching your gear sink out of sight. Unlikely to happen but easy cheap insurance against losing it all.
Happy paddling.🐅
Looks beautiful out there thank you for sharing
Love the Swift. Great choice...
Lots of fun
Very quiet in the bush, no bugs though. Like to hear the Spring sounds of the peepers and birds.
Hi Cuty, That's the way to spend Sunday morning breakfast watching an "Alexis Outdoors" video.
Somehow I never heard of a Logging Alligator. I had to Google it. I love seeing olden times accomplishments. Very interesting!
Living in Florida real live Gators are normal. Enjoyed this video as usual. Have fun Lexy.
Grizz is such a ham! You have trained him well. Have you ever considered a second RUclips channel for him? As always love the videos! Congrats on your continued success!!!
shoulda recorded that fire! I easily coulda fell asleep listening to that Ambience! the Fire sounded PERFECTO!! 🙏💕⭕
Another great video! Thank you for the quality content! 👍
Thank you Alexis I enjoyed this video looks like you 3 had a fun trip my Sister is up in BC New Denver she does this kind of stuff all the time you remind me of her
Grizz is an amazing dog.
Ive being watching your past videos ....Your an amazing woman. So much respect for you ....also thats one lucky guy lol .
Glad you guys had a good time that sail thing was cool and I saw 🥓bacon
looks like yall had a good trip
I’ll vote for peas in shepherds pie! So good! Will have to pack some of that on my next canoe trip 🛶 love your videos! Just across the border from you in the Adirondacks!
Nice canoe trip
Can't wait for the snow to go , here in Sask. nice video Thanks
Another great video! Peas dont belong in shepards pie and you forgot the avocado and beer, lol. Getting gear together for my first big trip of the year, float plane into a remote lake for a week as soon as the ice goes out. Check out the Katadyn base camp filter. I fill it and hang it at the camp site. Nice to have water on hand and fill water bottles before heading out. Keep up the great job!
Hahah Brandon is celebrating that another person doesn’t like peas in their shepherds pie 😂 Thanks so much Shawn!!
My father worked on a gator in his younger years (30’s ) he had many recollections of it.
Incredible!!
Always enjoy watching. I laughed at the breakfast choices..Mr Noodles vs oatmeal and knew exactly which one was yours lol
Yep I knew all yoo well that sound with the canoe.😱
Wonderful for you in the Ontario Lakes.
More or less the same in the Quebec Lakes.
These two Provinces are after all the Upper and Lower Canadas from the very beginning :D
I just have to say Grizz is in amazing shape! ❤️
Vet said the same thing recently when I brought him in for routine checkup :) The adventure life looks good on him I guess lol
I really enjoy the videos thanks for sharing.
