To answer the most common question I get: Grizz is a Husky/Lab mix. You're welcome :)

    • @capman911

Almost every dog I have owned has been a Lab mix. Labs must sneak around a lot. My dog now is pitbull and corgy. Now that's a mixture. You picked a beautiful spot to camp. I would add to it and do an overnighter. 😷 🤗

I love watching a powerful person who doesn't need to fill the quiet, calm solitude of the woods with incessant chatter. I love your channel, your presence, your relationship with your pup, and being able to live, albeit briefly, vicariously through your channel. I so appreciate that when you do speak you speak without the boisterousness of many of your male counterparts. . . . unless you're playin' with doggo - which is delightful.

Late 40’s guy chiming in... My two favourite outdoorsy people on RUclips are NDYakAngler and the Careena/Ryan/Grizz dream team. Their similarities are that they are low-key and I learn loads. They are...relaxing. Long moments of no talking or chatter. No theme music, no visual effects, no song and dance.

Now you pull out the telescoping fish rod, I’ve been looking at those for hiking and I don’t even fish(yet). Joe Robinet even brought you up as one of the channels everyone is getting into. I camped one hot tent night from my snowmobile house in Maine and went back to work in New York and semi lock down. 🙁 you’re doing great thanks for the escape. Keep enjoying the beauty of the area you live. 😊❤️🇺🇸🛷☃️❄️⛺️be safe

Even better drift a stonefly nymph dropper off of a #10 irresistible dry fly. If you don't have a fly rod just use a casting bubble weighted with some split shot with only the weighted nymph at the end of the line - distance from the bubble float matching the depth on the current. Cast upstream and try to drift the nymph down the run so that it imitates a natural nymph. You and Grizz are a delight.

When you go far into the forest, when your phone is silent, it does not catch the signal, and the sleeping bag on the foam replaces your favorite bed! When your dinner is boiling in a black pot on a hot fire, and all your clothes are soaked through with smoke. You forget about all your problems, they simply do not exist, there is you and the silence of the forest! The silence from which is muffling. Your senses sharpen as you hear the wind, the rustle of grass, and leaves. The creaking of the trunks. At this moment, you feel that you are alive, you are alive now, you listen to your breath, your heart, Nothing can replace these feelings. You are cleansed of all that weighed on you yesterday. Just you and nature. And you're on your own. You're alive now, and that's all that matters. For this we go to the forest. To experience it, over and over again. Those who have experienced it will understand. Those who have not experienced it, still have everything ahead of them. Thank you for giving me this feeling. Thank you for making such content that attracts people to put on a backpack and go to wander along the forest path, your work makes people really happy. 👍

Okay, You've got me reminiscing about my younger days. Thought you'd get a kick out of this.
Down in the swamp just before the swale grass got thick, just before one could sink up to their knee's in muck, we happened upon an old trappers cabin. It was sunk 1/2 way down into the swamp. Boy oh boy did we have plans for that place.
We returned and put a roof on it. Logs and pine bows. Fun fun! Well, why stop there we thought. Why not make a dugout canoe!!
We chopped down this 4 ft. diameter tree. It was a yellow birch. Had we thought about it we would've not chopped it down. Yellow birch is so dense / heavy wood it would've sank in a heart beat.
As kids you don't think about the tree's life. I look back on it now and regret chopping it down.

Alexis really enjoy your survival videos. You give great tips some i even use on my outtings. Living in the Apalancian mountains i go on survival trips often. Lots of times without food so i can teach my boys how to forage and snare and trap. But we watch your videos you being in Canada the terrain their not much different than here. The mountains here are absolutely breathtaking. Bears are the only real preditor. We do take precautions. Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to shoot your videos lot of times you have to walk twice as much shooting your walk by segments. Love what you do thanks and keep it up.

Glad you're having fun out there. My friends and I did this type of exploring, camping and shelter building throughout our childhoods. Fun! Using canoes and boats for shelters is awesome too

We bought our son a SPOT GPS Messenger several years ago as he travels alone in some remote areas sometimes. He's used the Check -in and Tracking features all over the US, in the Dominican Republic, Naples, Rome and Venice Italy, Fiji and on a live aboard dive boat on the Australian Great Barrier Reef and along the eastern coast of Australia as well as a live aboard dive boat at Guadalupe Island in Mexico and its worked great. It has the SOS feature if he ever needs it and it's cheaper to purchase and operate than a Sat phone.

Even if you don't catch anything it's better than sitting at a desk.
And try a little smaller lure early season. Thanks for sharing your day with Grizz out in the bush. Please keep them coming.

I love the down-to-earth, real-person nature of your videos... it almost makes me miss being back home. I follow a few others channels, and there are so many that lose me when they become too full of themselves. Your channel is one of a handful I recommend to others. Your demeanor and laid-back approach actually help me relax while watching. Kudos on the music, didn't know that was you until this video! Cheers!
