- There's a new Mortal Kombat game out this week! The second live action movie is on hiatus, but there is a new Mortal Kombat Legends movie on its way. I decided to team up with Sean from @MovieDumpster to talk about the 3 previous Legends films. Which one is the best? Watch and find out!

Scorpions Revenge Was Pretty Awesome. Definitely My Favorite.
When the first two Mortal Kombat Legends animated movies were on Tubi last year i watched them. THey were really good. had the right story, gore and action for Mortal Kombat animated movies
I'm i the only one who noticed that Snow Blind was just Old Man Logan in the MK universe?
It's kind of a tie between Scorpions's Revenge & Snowblind, part 2 was cool in parts, but was a mess.

Liu Kangs normal finishing move in the second game was him turning into a dragon and eating the top half of his opponent’s body. It was originally not called an animality

I enjoyed all three of the Mortal Kombat Legends animated movies but my number one is Scorpion's Revenge, number two) Snowblind and number three) Battle of realms.
And I can't wait to check out Mortal Kombat Legends cage match and see how that will be.
Honestly, I've enjoyed the series thus far. Yes there are some issues and they're not perfect but I'd honestly watch these graphically violent animated movies over the live action renditions.
The Mortal Kombat Legends movies have been pretty solid so far. The biggest problem is probably that they're too short and try to jam a little too much story into them. Always love seeing Sean stop by, by the way.
Mortal Kombat is starting to do Jax as a nothing type of character and he’s been a important part of the whole game series

I have an all-new perspective for all 3 movies, now.

I do unironically love The Journey Begins. I love the janky shoestring budget animation and CGI. I love the voice cast and their performances. I love the music.
I have such fond nostalgic memories for it.
I used to rebt it all the time.
I eventually got it on VHS.
I was so happy that it was included as a bonus on the MK (95) Blu-ray

Battle of the Realms is my favorite.
I think all of the criticisms leveled against it about being rushed or over-stuffed with overlapping plots equally applies to the other two.
But Scorpion's Revenge makes the other characters jobbers to make Scorpion look better. Liu Kang losing the tournament and Scorpion saving Liu's life by taking out Goro in one hit, really pissed me off.
But BotR makes Liu Kang the hero he's supposed to be.
Then he gets a full blown DBZ style fight, essentially using Kaio-Ken or going Super Saiyan.
Then going Super Saiyan God.
Then using his best fatality-turned-Animality to give us a Godzilla sized Kaiju brawl.
I love this movie.
Despite all it's flaws.

I have a lot of nostalgia for scorpions revenge but this series has a lot of problems.
It came out 3 years ago, how is that nostalgic?

Just for diversity’s sake, I’m saying Battle for the Realms.
I’ve been waiting for a proper MKII adaptation for AGES, and sure, in that aspect it was kind of a let down since we didn’t go to a variety of Outworld locations like Living Forest or the Deadpool, but still the fact they did the Colosseum tournament mixed with the best subplot of MK3, I was all in.
Although I’d say it’s not the best made of the three, it’s the one I’ve rewatched the most, so yeah I’d be comfortable saying it’s my fav or the 3.
Realms is easily my favorite of the 3 so far. I'm tired of seeing people trash it so often.

Scorpions revenge is awesome, even though I thought it was a very bizarre retelling of the original game with the way they turned it into just a giant bow royale and included way more characters than were originally present, I really liked it
I thought they have been progressively worse sadly since then, however as a massive fan they are still cool little animation projects to enjoy and I still like all three of these better than all three of the live action movies

The first two movies are connected, and the third is unrelated....
So it's like the first three Halloween movies. Hehe
The issue with MK movies these days is that there's like over 30 years of very bloated lore, so now they can't just do a movie based on a tournament like the original movie did. Now we have to have the tournament AND something about Quan-Chi, Shinnok or focus on the poster boy Scorpion. ...Or whatever his name was from the recent live-action... I wanna say Cole? Whatever, don't care.
In Scorpions Revenge, it was fine, but Battle Of The Realm did feel like Spider-Man 3 levels of stuffing. Can't comment on Snowblind as I've still not seen it, but I like the sound of it now knowing it is it's own original thing.

Some of your gripes are down to you not paying attention to the story.
Megan Fox is so so bad in MK1. So bad. Its a shame cuz they have a great VA for Nitara in gameplay, they should have had her voice Nitara in the whole game. Its so bad.
