Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek (Mike Myers) whose precious solitude is suddenly shattered by an invasion of annoying fairy tale characters. They were all banished from their kingdom by the evil Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow). Determined to save their home -- not to mention his -- Shrek cuts a deal with Farquaad and sets out to rescue Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) to be Farquaad's bride. Rescuing the Princess may be small compared to her deep, dark secret.

Every time you tell me not to look something up I immediately look it up.
The funny thing about CG is that it usually looks pretty good with artificial (like Toy Story) or cartoony (like this movie) applications. If it's not supposed to look good, it looks good. When it's supposed to look good, it's really hard to pull off.
Love Tony and Newt, this show needs to be so much bigger. It deserves it. Love the content.

About Shrek knowing Farquaad's height and also knowing his plan to become king by marrying Fiona could be explained by cut in the film. We go from Shrek asking Farquaad "what kind of quest" to him traveling with donkey, so an offscreen private meeting after the tournament had to take place in between.
If not, then Shrek just figured out Farquaad's height by the lenght of his short arms and his plans by common sense I guess.
Guys! I'm from Nashville and I have sang karaoke at Santa's Pub a gazillion times! Just went there a couple weeks ago. Love that place! A double wide trailer bar that has some of the best karaoke in Nashville! It brings in all demographics from the city. That's fantastic Tony. Hope u had a great time there. It's easy to do at Santa's!

Robin williams made genie have pop culture references, cause they loved his impressions so much. theres like 10 hours of dialogue they recorded from robin, and some of it is like his rated r jokes and stuff lmao
Shrek was a fresh take on fairy tales and was so enjoyable with a great soundtrack. On Nic Cage, couldn't even make it through Jiu Jitsu

Man I was like 2 years old when this movie came out, I still love it to this day and the 2nd one the 3rd was alright but the 4th was absolute garbage.

I understand that the studio wanted a sequel because of how this movie became a masterpiece. But the story on how it was made is just as interesting

I bought a cool boa constrictor in high school... everyone told me not to sleep with it... I did anyway. It didn't get big, as I only had it for a few days... turns out, it was better for both of us that we slept apart, as in the night I rolled over on him... I woke to sadness, and a flat snake... So no one would know what I did, I couldn't present a flat snake... So I blew it up (mouth to mouth), but nope it was dead. I tried to bring the blown up snake back to the pet store... to disappointment. Every time I watch this movie I am reminded of my snake...

This computer animated film of Shrek was really entertaining and I loved how they made the characters looked so photo-realistic for a cartoon like this one in which it is a comedy that I enjoyed.

Just a little heads up the about the sequels. I don't need to tell you how great Shrek 2 is. Shrek the Third is a disappointment. Shrek Forever After does make up for it & is decent. Some have argued that it's pretty underrated.

A friend of mine once had a girl from tinder abruptly ghost him, because he made a joke about how Shrek is amazing and an instant classic because simply because of Smash Mouth songs being in the movie. Guess she didn't like Smash Mouth very much. 🤣

Also to Newt talking about Chumbawamba. They started as a punk band(and technically were punk as fuck all the way to the end in my opinion). They started on the old punk band Crass' label, that Crass had started, but anyways. They were very anarcho punk, but not white supremist... But you still my boy Newt! Just thought I'd clear that up. Also agree with you on Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah being superior. Which is hard for me to say because I'm a big Velvet Underground fan(John Cale and Lou Reed's first band), but Jeff took Cohen's song and just made it spectacular. Sorry to gush about music on the comments guys, it's all I'm good at. Great show as always!

I never knew that was tony in shrek retold and I’m so happy I learned this it was one of my favorite scenes in the movie
Interesting fact in Shrek 2 the potion they drink affects the user and their true love so while donkey was a stallion,dragon was turned into a pegasus to counterpart donkeys transformation which would mean she would have transformed twice while she was pregant and maybe while she was in labor.

It's a set, sadly not many stores like this exist. I think the set is located in Philadelphia and most of them work or worked there at some point..but I'm not familiar with the deep lore, there are subreddits about it
