This will help us gain experience in manufacturing components for aircrafts and this experience will help us in developing RTA 70 RTA 90 in future.
It's only Nut and Screw Job. Like HAL used to do with SU30MKI. Nothing more than that. Assembly and few parts where TOT is not involved. Are they getting TOT? Are they get Engine technology? No Nothing.. 👎 But definitely a versatile platform purchased, when people were thinking Money is short to purchase such platform, as economy is week. It's only temporary due to Covid interruption, Going forward sincerely they have to add more such repeat orders. The other good thing in in house MRO. This will significantly reduce the down time of these Jets and boost availability.

Well look like someone didn't understand the viewpoint of the video clearly.
India has the capability to make such aircrafts. We have got competent engineers and scientists. The only thing which delays these is the lack of a proper ecosystem to supply necessary parts on time without compromise on quality. Don't need engine knowhow as India is self sufficient in turbo prop technology. Yes a ToT makes life easier......but it doesn't mean that give repeat orders and choke the development of aviation industry by importing more and more. Operational needs are important and so is self sufficiency.
@@srinivasraomv it is not necessary to have our own engine. C295 uses Pratt and Whitney engine which is american. When japan built its own transport aircraft kawasaki c2, Pratt and Whitney engine were used. I know if we would have developed our own engine then it will best.
You guys don't understand what I said. TEJAS is in my heart. When people criticize HAL for their nut and bold work of SU30MKI, the same thing people chest beat for foreign equipments and private segments. Also sorry to say Prat and Whitney ke engines are good but not for the feature. As in future our engines will be best options. I support in indigenous development of required war equipments. But don't go about chest betting. Also when IAF Chief says I wanted Rafale class fighter Jets, it means we want similar equipments, it can be indigenously developed like TEJAS Mark II. C295 is a deperate requirement for about 2 decades, what have we done till date? Atleast did we invest in the design making no.. TEJAS took time and it has advanced to such a level that most other are looking useless right now like Fake F21. Next Rafale class will be our TEJAS Mark II. No doubt about that. But C295 transport aircraft is a current requirement. And so a right decision. At the same time they are another 150-200 medium weight aircrafts are required to replace in another decade. What is the road map on this? But pls don't chest beat for Nut and bolt work by private organization and talk lowly about HAL. I hate this kind of hypocrisy
We should become MRO hub for all planes, ships, Submarine and Tanks etc. By this we can use desi jugad like how our roadside mechanics are using desi parts in vehicles

Another, aircraft - other than LCA - being made in India will also be a shot in the arm for local ancillary manufacturers.
Modification of these c-295 with Awacs radar (on top of the aircraft) , chin mounted synthetic aperture radar and ew gears in nose would give an Awacs/joint star/elint/ew in one platform .
As for tanker's larger aircrafts are more desirable, rather these c-295 comes with fuel tanks which can be loaded at the back with plug and play kind of arrangement but these aircrafts can be used as a tanker in emergency measure rather than dedicated tanker.

Yes, the C-295 seems to be the wrong aircraft for the role of because the ideal payload capacity is ~7 tonnes.
To put it in perspective, the four-engined Ilyushin IL-78MKI used by the IAF - a tailor-made variant of IL-78M and equipped with Israeli fuel-transferring systems, has a total fuel carrying capacity of 110 tonnes. It can refuel 6 to 8 Sukhoi Su-30MKIs in a single operation.
Note: The IL-78 aerial refueling tanker based on the Il-76 strategic airlifter in use by the IAF

@@arjunnair9007 new refueler aircrafts are Airbus a330s and Air India fleet has none. If modification is sought for a320s of AI fleet, then it will be a new project. Cost maybe quite high and will take years of time, IAF cannot afford both.

Airbus will supply the first 16 aircraft in flyaway condition while the remaining 40 will be assembled in India within 10 years of signing of the contract. Airbus Defence and Space will jointly execute the C-295 project with TASL.
The project will involve setting up servicing facilities for the C-295 in India, and it is expected that this facility will act as a regional MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) hub for various variants of C-295 aircraft. It is expected to generate 600 highly skilled jobs directly, over 3,000 indirect jobs and an additional 3,000 medium skill employment opportunities.
Along with transport variants, awacs and aerial tanker capability is the urgent need of the hour, what this aew/tanker can act as force multiplier for our depleting squadron strength.
These winglets or also called shark fins can reduce fuel consumption by atleast 10% or more depending upon loading weight.
Bahut Badia decision GOI. Tata continues to make India proud by becoming the first private company who will be making transport aircraft. Country is into right direction. 🙏🥳❤️

A lot people have problem with level of TOT involved. Before free RR🤭, consider these
1. Number of aircraft being purchased in the contract should justify cost. If more TOT is requested for components, price of overall contract will be higher.
2. Continuing with 1, if there's clear intent of acquiring more platforms, then the initial cost of TOT makes sense. Otherwise paisa barbad BC.
3. Even US, need Rolls Royce/European origin engines for several military/civil aircrafts. So it's not a big deal if India takes engines outside for indigenous projects.
The Hs-748 is not from Avro its from Hawker Siddeley, hence the HS designation

The 10,000 tonne 𝗜𝗡𝗦 𝗗𝗵𝗿𝘂𝘃 is the Indian Navy's 1st nuclear missile tracking ship is to be launched on Sept. 10.
It will be able to provide early warning of attacks by ballistic missiles launched from Pakistan and China. France, the US, the UK, Russia, and China already operate such ships.
The ship will also give us the ability to monitor spy satellites watching over India, as well as monitor missile tests in the entire region.
The 9,000 tonne floating missile test range 𝗜𝗡𝗦 𝗔𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝗵, designed by the DRDO and built by Cochin Shipyard, will begin sea trials this month.
It can be used to test missiles up to range of 1500 kilometers deep inside the Indian Ocean, far away from human population or sea traffic.
The FTR will not only speed up the missile projects of DRDO, but also allow discreet live testing of torpedoes and interceptor missiles for phase II of Ballistic Missile Defence program.

After we have enough experience with assembly and then manufacture of the C-295, maybe we could consider a 'stretched' version with CASA, the original designer of the aircraft. Of course we'll need to identify a powerful enough powerplant for the larger aircraft.

Do-228, C-295, C-130J, IL-76, C-17 we have a range of platforms from light, medium and heavy category....just to fill gap between C-130J and IL-76 we should think of Airbus A400M and leverage this Tata-Airbus collaboration to see if we can procure them as well
56 C-295 turbo prop cargo transport military aircraft from Airbus deal done is Wow for IAF n the nation Congrats..😆 n so is induction of MR-SAM. I think range of MR SAM be enhanced to 80 to 90 kms. Extended range of 150 km with boosters is excellent.
Air to Air refuelling capability for C-295 sounds perfect. We must also have intelligence anti sub n gun ship variant of C-295 for close air support roles.

The C-295 is an Airbus medium tactical transport aircraft. The initial 16 will be made in Spain. It has nothing to do with the US and can in no way influence CAATSA.
