India is at least 10 to 15 years behind its adversaries, and 20 to 40 years behind the advanced western world in 5th generation aircraft manufacturing and in numbers to have a fighting force. The government is still sleeping on MRFA deal.

Not buying additional Rafale for IAF was a criminal mistake. 56 inch folded in front of allegation by Pappu sena. Many were waiting for additional Rafale order for the entire 2nd term. PAF has always dominated skies against IAF. Major reason is well trained Pilots. Once PAF gets 5th Gen fighter. PAF would break in anytime & neutralize IAF in case of war.

The reality is reverse actually. Abhinandan actually downed a F16 of pakistan. Do you remember that pakistan never released the info about that other pilot in hospital. He was that f16s pilot. Abhinandan was ordered over radio to stop chasing pakistani f16 but his radios were jammed that's how he got deep in pakistan. And he was flying mig 21 which has no defence against such jammings.

Tejas MK1 Alpha is now delivered to the timeline of Tejas MK2, very very awesome. If India has to fight its proportional war, it must create a consortium that fast tracks the Tejas and AMCA program leaving out HAL and ADA out of the equation in aircraft manufacturing.
Pakistan Air Force is perhaps the only institution in our country that has never seen a decline in terms of training, morale, and commitment. In the context of South Asia this is the only air force that introduced many elements of air warfare first. For example first supersonic jet, first introduction and use of sidewinder missiles, first kill using these missiles, first introduction of fourth generation fighter and now soon to be induction of stealth fighters. The fightet pilots, engineers and technicians are second to none. In all international exercises they emerge victorious with good margin.

The problem with Stealth fighter jet is if even you track them you cant lock them you cant fire missile on them. In next 10 years pakistan is going to have to two type of 5g fighter gets with three types of 4.5 fighters. India has less then 100 s-400 missiles in their inventory which pakistan can easily counter through their gps guided rockets

Pakistan already developed Fatah-1 and Fatah-2 guided rocket system to destroy S-400 just like ukraine destroying S-400 with American HiMARS guided rockets. Rockets are dirt cheap as compared to cruise missiles. You can deploy 20 rockets on the price one cruise missile. HiMARS has the range of 300km and Fatah-2 and Fatah-4 has the range of 400km and 700km respectively. Russian air defence eroded away and now they can't even defend their oil refineries and air bases from ukrainian drone attacks.

While this seems like a stand off, India's huge population size means Pakistan will eventually loose ground. For Pakistan Stealth attack aircraft have become absolute necessity. Or Pakistan will go the way of Ukraine.
India can buy Su-57 or F-35. USA no longer considers S-400 a threat since they have found it's weaknesses in Ukraine. Russia has offered local production of Su-57.

Ground based air defense cannot be countered as easily. Long range fires are Air or ground launched cruise missles, long range missles, Balistic missles, long range artillery rockets, and UCAVs. Long range fires can counter Ground Based AD in theory. in practice in Ukraine, Russia has failed to do so.
Pakistan is garaunteed support from China in locating targets, and China has greater surveillance capabilities than Russia. But If PAF was confident of that as a solution, they would be investing any available funds into producing more long range fires, not stealth.
Stealth, and other 5th gen features like data fusion, will help PAF emulate US strategy for countering GBAD. It is more agrressive, allows for taking initiative while being less suicidal than using non-stealth aircraft. Essentially stealth will allow Pakistan Airforce planes to get closer to the border area and fly there at higher altitudes, before India can target them with AAM and SAM. These stealth can then launch AAM, ARM, or attack Indian Army units.
This capability will also be supported by other long range fires, having a multipier effect on capability.
This way Pakistan hopes to maintain convential balance in an all-out prolonged-war. In this regard, expect to see Kilzema UCAV in PAF service.
However, this balance can eventually be ground down if India develops the kind of industrial capacity Russia has shown and the political will to pursue the war over multiple years. Thankfully, no information in the public domain indicates India has what it takes.

Logically they have only 3 options left.
1) Develop AMCA at super speed, but doesn't seem to be happening and anyway it would take a decade before we can even think of induction.
2) SU 57 procurement - Viable option but on the basis of previous track record of russian fighters and maintenance issues and the doubt on lethality of the jet itself puts IAF in jeopardy.
3) KF 21 - If government can negotiate with South Korea to be a partner in further development and manufacturing in KF 21, that would be the most reliable and viable option. But i guess nobody in the system is looking at this option.

KF-21 has many critical USA parts that are vulnerable to veto. And india can only be an assembling partner, not development partner as india has nothing to share in terms of technical know-how that SK doesn't already do better.

Chinese are not stupid that they are claiming something that is not achievable. PAF will put these jets against fourth generation fighters and the ground based radars as well. Therefore, it acquire first squadron based on the stated capabilities but will not buy anymore. Therefore, it can safely be assumed that J31 is a stealthy aircraft.

@@muhammadishaq561 nothing is full proof against the stealth of 5 Gen but the stealth really means it is invisible to any radar? No - if you have a Layer Radar Detection then 5 Gen fighters will give away its stealth even if it means minimum in cross section visibility.

Sir, to believe that PAF pilots are training on FC31 it needs to be investigated whether FC31 has any dual seat trainer version in service. And if NOT and PAF pilots are being allowed to train solo then induction in PAF is just couple of years away (depending only on production rate by China and financial constraints of PAF)
