  • On episode 53 of She's with the Band, the show that aims to amplify the voices of women and femme people on stage, backstage, and in the business, host Tori Kravitz chats with Ash Costello, the charismatic front-woman of Californian alternative metal icons New Years Day.
Throughout the conversation, Ash dives back into New Years Days' early days, when she did not even have her iconic double-hair that become her own branding a few years later. Tori & Ash also discuss how women are seen and treated in the music industry, with Ash revealing she is still being called "difficult" for no other reason than her being a female boss.
Watch until the end to learn all the secrets behind the epic collaboration between Ash & Chris Motionless for "Angel Eyes"!

I was so disappointed in them at Rockville. They play two separate sets. Her lip singing was so atrocious and so off. I get backing tracks and all that type of stuff but when you're straight up lip singing it's just upsetting. They were one of the one bands my girlfriend really wanted to see and it was so blatant and so bad we went and got food and didn't even watch their second set the next day
