Vinnie Stigma of Agnostic Front: The Godfather of Hardcore (A HardLore Film)

- Опубликовано: 6 июл 2024
- HardLore is honored to be joined by the Godfather of hardcore himself: Vinnie Stigma from Agnostic Front.
A true pioneer of the genre and a living legend, Vinnie took us around his neighborhood in New York City, including the world famous former home of the legendary venue CBGBs. We learned all about his early days as a punk rocker, making the jump to hardcore, how much he misses playing in Madball and SO much more in these incredible 2 hours of the hardest lore yet.
There's possibly no hardcore today without Vinnie and Agnostic Front's contributions to the genre, and there's certainly no HardLore.
They say never meet your heroes.. They've never met Stigma.
We can't thank everyone involved enough for making this happen.
Vinnie, Mike Dijan, Tom Sheehan, our special guest co-host Dan Seely, Producer Andie Andres, PA Aaron Warman, and the incredibly talented Rob Menzer for bringing this insane journey to life.

100
Agreed. I'm 10mins in an it's fuckin great.
came to comment and post the same thing
Facts 💯💯💯
Bo speaks...
Vinnie: Anyway...
This episode is sooo amazing. Stigma showing and talking about everything in the neighborhood is the best. This should win some kind of 2024 podcast award.
I would love to see Vinnie and Joey Diaz have a conversation.
I know Bo and Colin are not people of faith, but I deeply appreciate how respectful they are towards Vinnie as he shares about his faith and how it sustained him.
There are those of us out there who do believe in a higher power, but instead of trying to control people, we work to make sure that higher power is known through justice making, serving, and loving one another.
It’s the hardest and holiest of lore
Stigma not wearing the cap inside the church. True Gentleman.
Every time Vinnie says “anyway” in response to someone kills me, especially 34:26 😂
THE definition of NYHC. From the beginning til the end, he's been there. Nothing but respect for this man and his undying love of HC.
I used to play in a hardcore band in El Salvador in the early 2000s. Somehow, one of our shirts and our album made it all the way to Mr. Vinnie Stigma. He sent us a picture of himself wearing the shirt, and that was a major highlight in our career. It was incredible for us, a band from a third-world country, to see a true legend like him rocking our merch.
Best episode ever-it's going to be hard to top this one!
Take a drink anytime Vinnie says "fahgetabowdit"
The story he tells at the church is one of the most fascinating bits of Italian-American Roman Catholic history I have ever heard. It could be a whole movie itself; the story of a young kid with an idol of a saint, being chased down by the mob.
@@DrewKane honestly, it could be the story of a Saint too in its own weird way. Saint Vincent Stigmata, who kept a sacred piece of cultural heritage out of the hands of a scumbag like Gotti.
@@DrewKane Saint Vincent Stigmata of NYHC
Hands down best Hardlore episode yet!
Saw AF like 2 weeks ago in Munich Germany and Stigma is still a machine at this age. Guy has more energy than most teenagers today and is a big inspiration for many people. Peace
Crazy you guys just keep running into Dan Seely like that. How!?
It’s also insane how they’re mic’d up already!! LIKE WTF!!!😳
Dan gets around nyc😂 dudes in the cut at every coffee shop
The story about the Pete Steele Magazine prank is amazing.
Voorhees played a few UK shows with AF in the 90s and decided to prank Vinnie by telling him that when it comes to money in the UK "the bigger the coin the higher the value", so he was cherishing all these 2p coins over £1 coins haha, legend.
Hahah that's amazing. The dude who was on last week has an amazing Stigma prank story too.
Remember that old pre youtube meme video of the dog doing another dog and vomiting?
Tom didn't know if Stigma would remember him after seeing him 15 years after Indecision toured with AF. Stigma comes up to Tom going "hey kid, you still got that video of the two dogs fucking and one of them vomiting?". Tom remembers that everyone had it on their laptop and tries to figure out if they showed it to him or something, all while Stigma goes "i've got my eyes on you, kid" multiple times over the night. Later on realizes the timeline didn't add up at all, so Stigma just linked him to a loose date, said that and had him think about it all night.
So fucking funny.
Voorhees were great
@@misanthropist3 Voorhees also had a run in with *Robin Williams* in NY too. They saw him in the street and approached him for a photo, Robin apparently in a pretty shit mood just said 'Fuck Off' when one of them tried to sneak a pic with him... so off they fucked.
BUT a few moments later they suddenly see Robin Williams running towards them, where he proceeds to genuinely apologize, chat for a while (mimicking their accents) and take some photos (including literally taking a photo of Voorhees without him in it haha)
Finally, early 80's hardcore. My favorite era of hardcore. This is easily the best Hardlore Episode, great episode interviewing the legend Stigma! Loved hearing all his stories.
5 minutes in and this is the best ep of hardlore easily
That was awesome Vinnie is the best he took me to see Warzone a treasure memory thanks Vinnie
I didn’t want this to end. What a gem of an episode! Well done for getting this arranged. This truly was a legendary episode:)
I have a picture with Vinnie and Roger when I was 15 that has never left whatever bedroom in residing in for 18 years, absolute legend.
Two minutes into the episode I realized that this must be the best Hardlore episode yet! 🎯
I was also at the Dynamo Eindoven in 1995. The ticket cost 25 guilders (€13) back then. That was the first time I saw Madball. (also Type O Negative, Machinehead and Nailbomb) Best concert ever ..117k people and no cell phones !
The fact that Vinnie likes "The Stranglers" made me very happy. I have all the records here and love the old stuff! Underrated Goat Band (for me)
Stigma constantly saying “ok anyway” to Bo is hilarious
As someone who grew up watching the metal documentaries and all the stuff on vh1 classic i can't tell you guys enough how cool it is that y'all captured that exact vibe for hardcore. This is not just an episode this is like a film it's just so cool what you guys are able to do and I can't thank you enough for doing it
Stigma gave so many real life lessons about respect, love, looking out for others, doing things right and being honorable. This is hardcore. ❤️
Beautiful and as important as the Godfathers of hardcore doco,,,thanks for doing this
Saint Vinnie 🙏
Give respect
This is awesome. Vinnie seems like a great guy and the interview was incredible. Great job, guys. Don't know how you guys are gonna top this one.
Never thought I’d see a hardlore interview in a cathedral. So wild and interesting !
This is an amazing piece. Great work thank you for doing this and capturing these moments. Vinnie is stigma has legendary persona
Could listen to Vinny all day he’s a walking lesson in NYC History he represents a city that doesn’t exist anymore now filled with Whole Foods and Chipotles .
What an absolute legend
Easily the most interesting video yet. Could listen to Vinnie tell stories for hours
Coolest dude on the face of the planet
As someone who saw Vinnie in Madball! I’d love to see it again
Stigma IS NYHC!!!!! Some amazing sights and stories here!
I tried to tip Seely 10 bucks at a King Nine show buying merch and he just said "No".
Probably my favorite episodes of the show!
Who cares about hardcore, I want to listen to Vinnie's church history all day long lol great episode
Whispering with his hat off like a good Italian boy .
Loved every second of this episode. Was on Wikipedia every couple minutes reading up on the lore he was talking about (re: Murder Inc). 10/10
Met vinny at my job last year. One of the kindest gentleman ive ever met 👍
All time legendary episode congrats on this one!
This was so comforting to watch. an ADHD KING!
There's no words how good this was...
One of the mega OGs
Respect to Stigma for taking his hat off in Church.
i especially expect that from italians
This is amazing, I’ve been hoping to see AF on the show for a while. Something’s Gotta Give was the first hardcore album I ever listened to, of course I love em to this day. Stigma has got some serious lore
one of the coolest episodes of Hardlore to date.
STIGMAAA! Dude's got stories and riffs for days
Stigma is a popeye's man? He really is the GOAT
Sick episode 🤘
Mike's voice sounds like the NYHC version of Lars Ulrich but more coherent
Don't think this can be topped, 🙏
I live in NY and the most NY thing that's ever happened to me was leaving a Madball show and seeing Vinnie Stigma taking pictures around the block.
Didn't think Vinnie could be any cooler until he pulled out the Steelers coffee mugs
I see him walking around when I’m in the neighborhood. If you ever see Vinnie, give him a “STIMGA!”
Stigma🤘🏼🔥Hardlore Rules🤘🏼🔥
God damn Vinny's schedule was jam packed on Sundays
This should go in a hardcore museum somehow. Growing up in NYC its amazing watching people witness this stuff for the first time. The amount of culture even on one block is more than some states have
The infamous Joey Fauccugotts!!
Okayyy yall gettin in your bag with that intro
Stigma is a national treasure.
Excellent video, gents! 🇺🇸
HANDS DOWN the greatest. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
lol tom sheehan in the background trying not to look at some point
What a banger to drop on the 4th July!!
None other than the GW of hardcore 🇺🇸
Holy moly! Cody'sLab has hit the gym! You could make three Stigmas out of him
🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
reusing the same intro joke for all of these episodes is next level comedy
Class act.
Who’s the “Long Island guy” they are referring to during the honor part?
This NYHC series of episodes may have single handedly made me start wearing my OG CBGB shirt again. Got that shit from the bar on a 12th grade class trip to NYC in 2005 😂
I remember the don fury sessions Glassjaw demo too that’s epic
Just left the hospital room where my wife is giving birth just to watch this
this is crazy
Dan always there to make everyone else look short
i love this man. ive known him since i was 13. his a mets fan. dont believe what he says lol
❤️🔥
My god that opening simpsons reference 😂
Love Stigma
I had a classmate in college who raced pigeons. I wonder if he's ever met vinnie
Take a shot every time Vinnie says “Forget about it”
NYHC 4 LIFE 👊🏻
ITS GOOD FOR YA HEALTH
😮
First band I ever saw live was the stranglers at the tender age of 6 in 1990.
9:04 got me good
seems like he had some really busy sundays
100% REAL
How does one not shit themselves holding Stigma's guitar in front of Stigma 😂
Vinnie has a NICE GRIP!
happy 4th
Anyway!
Where is the part when Vinnie talks about Jamey and Hatebreed?
1:23:54 Knock it back, have anotha one. drinkin and drivin is so much fun
The fuckin greatest 🫡
Wait was he saying around 1:15-17?
Brother brother Diana Ross didn’t die - wonder who Bo was thinking of
Was thinking the same thing but I don’t know who it could be…classic Bo moment right there
