Bo’s comment about getting newer people into older music literally is me! I’ve found 8 new bands I like from this episode alone! And the amount of other bands I’ve found through different episodes. Absolutely here for it!
Mike is an incredible storyteller, knowing all the names all the places all the stuff chronologically from the top of his head its no joke. Awesome episode
What an awesome episode, Mike's one of the unsung heroes of NYHC and I loved his shout out to the criminally underrated Lou Medina, man from the EGH days to the Sai Nam project Big Lou kills it. Also need to mention that the rides back from Albany to NYC in the van with Big Jeff, Mike, Lou and Larry were always a riot, miss those late 90s days man.
Blacklisted was recorded on my shitty mid 1980s Tama Swingstar kit. The Badu kit that belonged to Poogie Bell was used for the Warzone or Negative Approach cover sessions we did. Also at the same studio. ✌️
Those old school NYHC guys are the best dudes. Best story tellers, and some of the kindest people despite the hard exteriors. And the funniest humans on the planet
You can live the hardcore dream where you're from or in the closest major city too. And it's not only fairytales for these guys all the time, far from it.
It's awesome watching the boys just geek out about this stuff. As someone just getting into the history of hardcore and stuff after listening to it for a long time but not really going backwards as much this episode is going to be a great reference point for all of the bands I need to check out.
Such a great episode, it's amazing that I'm 43 years old and I'm still learning about a tonne of bands from this show that either passed me by as a kid in the UK or more up to the moment newer bands.
Absolutely love the historical deep dives. Community was such a driving factor in all of this ever happening. Something to never forget or shy away from. Great work, boys.
all that time at a middle eastern joint and not one mention of the crown of thormz tune 'falafel'? hahaha awesome episode. dijan is my fave nyhc riff writer next to aj novello
Can’t wait for the Judge part of this series. A legacy band that imo is underrated or under appreciated, they started writing hard ass riffs and songs about being a violent SxE kid
Maybe its just my area but the new world sucks were kids and young adults dont have spots like these iconic spots to meet up and hang out create cool shit.
It’s only 15 mins in and this is my favorite episode.

Mike is the epitome of 90s hardcore guitar for me. One of the best.
Absolute best episode. Albums I've been listening to for years just became a whole lot more lively. Thank you guys
JoJo just popping up was spectacular
This is the content I’m here for

EGH is such a criminally underrated band 😢
A legend of NYHC. Great episode. Loved hearing all of Mike's stories.

Thanks for the gems ! Love your drumming and the tones on this release.
“I know Jojo is a huge Mets fan”

I am so jealous of people living the Hardcore “dream” in the USA. Look at these guys and their vibe, its freaking cool. Cheers

Absolutely love the historical deep dives. Community was such a driving factor in all of this ever happening. Something to never forget or shy away from. Great work, boys.
Dijan is the definition what a guitar hero is to me. Wish he got more new bands to work as producer tbh.

The weird lense distortions make it look like y'all are on a set sometimes
swear to god it looks like the diner scene in Goodfellas haha
Incredible episode with some HARD fuckin lore. Had a hard time paying attention after finding out that it wasn’t actually a big mac though
1:09:28 the cockroach climbing up Bo’s leg is the most New York thing I’ve ever seen 😂
Oh shit! How did you even see that?😂
The pyramids are a LEGENDARY skate spot, so many killer videos have some real shredders destroying that spot for decades
FROM QUEENS COME HARDCORE KINGS

I may be southern as hell, but goddamn do them NYHC honkies have some of the best grooves this side of the blues and hip hop.
