I sure miss those days! I was an owner/operator with a small family owned petroleum transport company. I worked with several women, and we were all like part of the family. I left when I was offered a job with a major oil company which was a good move, as I retired with a nice pension, and 401k. I can honestly say that was one of the best times of my life!
What do you think about working for KAG is it a decent job/salary, I see alot of their trailers out here in So Cal which is KAG West division, I'm about to add my tanker and hazmat endorsements

You should never connect the elbow to the Vapor stem of the in ground tank before connecting hose to truck ( it releases Vapor from tank to atmosphere) Vapor: Truck to ground Prod: Ground to Truck.
Here’s the comment I was looking for! Also, the other side is open so the diesel can vent, and she has the vapor to the gas hooked up. She’s just blowing gas vapor into the open. Am I missing something and I don’t know s**t?
@ohyeahthatsright3155 You would be correct with the product hose, not with the vapor. You should always connect the vapor hose to the truck before connecting vapor hose and fitting to the ground stem first on gas. Notice the vapor stem Has a spring-loaded plunger on top to keep vapor from being released from UST to the atmosphere. When you connect the vapor ground fitting (which has a plunger rod) to the stem, it opens the plunger, releasing any pressure and vapor in tank.
Hi Haleigh. Just want to compliment You on Your great fuel hauling videos, I live just over the border in New Brunswick & will be starting My training to be a fuel hauler in March, I will be hauling fuel from refinery in Quebec down to various gas stations & bulk plants in NB. I will continue to watch the ups & downs of the fuel delivery vids that You post & hopefully learn from them 😎
BUENAS Señorita . En Panamá estamos en la obligación de bajar el EXTINTOR cuando descargamos combustible ; sino lo hacemos estamos en problema con la petrolera
Do you have any videos where you show how to pull into some of these tight spaces to get to the tank fill area? This particular one looked like it had plenty of room there but I have seen some where I don't know how that truck got in there, especially with a lot of cars around. Also how long is the training and do you go around with a trainer for a while or for how long before you're on your own?
Thank you! Brand new female fuel hauler in Southern California. Thank you for a practical video! There is a reason for your every move and I can see you are very efficient! I'm working on a T&T to train but will be working a tank once I'm ready.
Welcome to hauling fuel. If you're in California don't do like she did. Vapor connects to the truck 1st then to the underground tank. EPA catches you unloading like she did Its a $25k fine.
@@jenningsmills5398 I live in Southern California and want to go to truck driving school and haul fuel. Any recommendations on some great companies in So Cal to drive for???

@@jenningsmills5398 great. Thank you. Do those companies you mentioned have tank trailers or are the tanks fixed? Would a larger company after 3 years require tank trailer experience? What are some great fuel companies to work for in So Cal after I get experience???
@@BW-kv9wj The wet hose companies i mentioned are bobtail 3axel trucks with the tank attached no trailer. think of them as mobile gas stations. After getting some experience some good companies are Jackson Energy. Pilot. Sentinel. Vista Energy transport. MJ tank lines. Golden Bear. I have been hauling fuel but got let go from pilot Flying J for a time off request I sent in and was told I was good for it. Then it was never on the schedule and I got the blame and fired for the time off I had a family situation to be at.
Barrel of oil >>>> refine it a little, you get diesel >>>>> refine some more, you get gas >>>>> refine it even more, you get jet fuel. So yes, there is contamination in the hose (same for any pumps at any gas station), but it's miniscule, like maybe 1/4 of a gallon in the hose. By the time you dump another load, of different fuel, say at least 1000 gal, it's not a big deal. Car engines are not gonna blow up. Maybe a knock at the most.
Question. Do you know if temporarily converting a fuel tanker to a water tanker would ruin the seals or any other components? I already understand that the tanks are designed for 6 lbs/gallon and water weighs 8.34 lbs/gal. So net gallons may be lower.
Okay... is there overtime associated with the 23 an hour. Because if it's not you're looking at 1620 a week at 70 hrs... with the fuel with the cents per mile you're at 1620 just with the miles alone depending on how long it takes you. With overtime. I'd say the fuel will make more less work.
Should have carbon monoxide scavaging from exhaust to cooling lines. Then compressor to tank. With before disconnect. Flush co thru venting. Slap caps on it, store on side, vent thru, close. Then NO CHANCE down hwy cigarette thrown out ignite hose fuel in it isn't evaporated, but closed carbon monoxide impossible to ignite, just oxygen sensor on exhaust no air oxygen verified refill..
If you get those two also look into cryogenics it's tanker work and very clean I hauled liquid CO2 for praxair for 15 years and have a union pension...I quit because the company went to shit with managers but there are good companies out there like air products..and others
She's measuring the fuel level in the tank before she unloads & after she unloads. The measurements varies for each tank, unless they're built identical with the same capacity. Also a way for the gas station to check if you cheat them out of their gas. Say you begin measuring, stick is at 2 feet. After you dump in 5000 gal, it now says 6 feet. Plus or minus a few centimeters. Hotter temp, fuel expands more than when fuel is cold. If the gas station requested 5000 gal, your paperwork says you put in 5000 gal, but the ending measurement says 5 feet, the gas station know you did NOT put in 5000 gal. So either you can't measure, or the gallons put in is wrong.
Safety is always important! The internet makes it easy to not see the bigger picture though. This parking lot is arranged so that I have the very corner of it blocked off by my truck and there is curbing all along the other side behind the camera 😊
And narrow road access while dumping, have to BLOCK traffic idiots don't think while smoking l, window down and a just disconnecting time large amount of vapor, wind direction towards them.. carbon monoxide method stops ALL of that danger..
Do you know you're hooking up that vapor hose wrong? You never hook the fitting up to the in-ground connection without the vapor hose connected to the trailer. Otherwise you're spewing vapor into the atmosphere. The unburned vapor is a worse greenhouse gas than the burned fuel creates. The whole point is for this to be a closed system that doesn't allow vapor to escape into the air. You're also not supposed to connect it while your diesel is offloading. Your company needs better trainers if that's how they taught you to do it.

A couple of hours adapt caps valves for venting properly, and have carbon monoxide dump by hose hook up , snuff out flame. Lever just hit by any..
