It's because Dana is the only promoter, if Boxing had one boss for all top fighters it would be like the golden era again but unfortunately there is conflict with promoters in today time and they don't wanna help each other and rather keep the top selling star safe instead of putting them in a 50/50 fight as the promoter will lose a lot if the fighter loses. The promoters act like they have more to lose than the actual fighter when its the other way around
@@youngg3956 further muddying the waters is that promotions are tied up with certain networks. Top rank works mostly with ESPN. You got golden boy hooked up with dazn. Tmt with Showtime. Even certain fighters are exclusive with certain network brands (I'm not on the current loop but it's been going on forever, I remember Tyson going from HBO to Showtime, Mayweather same deal. More recently, Canelo with Dazn)

Unification bouts used to and should be THE BEST vs THE BEST, but unfortunately they aren't necessarily anymore. Indongo was little more than your average journeyman after a couple of lucky days, as it showed in just a few minutes against a true champion. Too many cheap world titles that don't mean anything is one of the several things that have been killing boxing for many years.
See, with Lopez vs Loma, I am surprised to hear you say you thought the scoring was questionable. I’m a huge Loma fan but totally agreed with the scores on the night. I don’t know if Loma was expecting to take Teo out in the later rounds but it certainly looked to me like he waited til the 8th round to go to work. I think Loma and corner had underestimated Teos ability and stamina and had expected him to tire. I hope there is a rematch. I do believe if Loma had performed through the whole fight as he did from round 8, he would have won. It was too little too late IMO. Your thoughts?
I feel like a lot of people go too far on the scoring of Lopez v Loma. 11-1 was indefensible, but it also made the other cards look a lot worse than they were. 8-4 was a good score (the correct one in my opinion). 9-3 is hard to defend, but it also only required the judge being wrong about 1 round. If the scores had been 7-5 or 8-4 plus 8-4 and 9-3, I don't think there would have been a legitimate complaint. But the 11-1 pushed 9-3 to the middle and 8-4 to the low, which made them look like bad scores. I think, Lopez unambiguously deserved the unanimous win, so in effect 11-1 was better than what would have been an equally errant 5-7.
@@FoobRMann I absolutely agree with you that 8-4 was the correct score. I don't know what fight the 11-1 judge was watching but it sure as hell could not have been the fight that we saw! There was, as you rightly said, absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Teo won the fight. I do hope there is a rematch. II think that's a rematch absolutely everyone wants to see. I really do think Loma would win, but I don't for one second believe it will be an easy win. He will have to work much much harder and not rest on his laurels expecting to be able to turn it around in the last 4 rounds like he did this time. He will need to work from round 1 and not ease up! Too is a worthy opponent. More so than Loma and his corner realised.
Yeah. He was untouchable at that weight. Salido was a very unfair and corrupt fight but even after that he almost got KO'd by Loma in rd 12. The way Loma moved at 126 / 130 was far superior to 135 and i'd like him to go back down to 130 / 126.
Hearns Hagler may have been a little unevenly contested....Hagler being a natural & seasoned middleweight, whilst Hearns was having his first contest at middleweight & having moved up 2 weights from his first world title win. What was significant is that Hearns chose to fight a Hagler who was at his very best & surely knew he could not have a 12 round strategy, that he went toe to toe looking to ko such a dominant & tough champion who had never even suffered a knockdown in his career (forget Roldan).
Say what you want about AJ, but that man does not duck anybody. Even Wilder admitted he refused an offer from AJ to fight Fury. So the Wilder talk of AJ ducking was bullsh*t.
The fact champions have to pay such an exorbitant fee to unify titles is the biggest proof of how corrupt and manipulative boxing has become and how there's too many organizations.
Man I really thought you were gonna put Arthur Beterbiev vs Oleksandr Gvozdyk, it was the best of the best in the light heavyweight division and was a very good match. Sadly, no one pays too much attention to it
