Honcho your content is amazing i love all your attention to detail and love for the sport. I am also a massive ayrton senna fan I loved that you showed him in this video thank you for all the great videos
Should've included Angel Garcia slapping Danny Garica during the Lucas Matthysse fight because he was blowing the fight. That slap literally woke his ass up.
"Tip your hat, pop the chain, short Joe Louis, then wipe his nose with the hook. It's that simple." Still one of the best lines I've ever heard from a trainer - Brother Nazim Richardson, RIP
Then you gotta hit him with a Savannah casserole downstairs, flip your biscuit to the left, and come up with a nervous gecko in your pocket. It’s that easy Shane.
Is just crazy how the corner works the psychology of the fighters through the fight. These guys don't get enough credit, so awesome job making this vid.
Exactly. Some got that piercing poetic speech, others got the rambunctious fiery rants. Sometimes, its real visceral. I could watch cornerwork all day. I cant get enough of those moments. From "Don't panic. Keep moving. Slip sliding. Sticking and stabbing with the jab" to "this is the last round, dont let it get away", you gotta love the corner moments.
Best corner moment is Adrian Broner’s coach asking him what punch Pacquiao got him with because he didn’t see it and Broner is sitting there like ”I didn’t either” 😂
I love when Emanuel Stewart is like “you gon fuck around and get caught with some crazy shit” lmao it makes me laugh every time, he definitely right tho
How does this not have the greatest moment in the history of boxing..."you're blowin' it son, you're blowin' it!" Angelo Dundee and Sugar Ray Leonard, hands down.
Manny: Your not throwing enough punches Wladimir Wladmir: I am Manny: Throw some more, you gon let him walk away with a bullshit decision. Wladmir: Im not
Wow, I've always thought Julio's corner moment in Chavez vs Taylor was so memorable growing up but I never saw it in "most memorable corner moments" videos so when I saw it in this one it truly just made me feel so happy that someone actually agrees that this was such a memorable corner moment, thank you for including it in your video
2gunzup07 his fight against Douglas wasn’t in his prime LOL he didn’t even has original training team and coach, was rolling with don king, and wasn’t training. That was 1990, his prime was around 88. But keep being a little virgin hater lmfao I bet you’re under 18 kid pipe down.
Once again a magnificent video. To this day it still baffles me why people do not give the respect that Joe Calzaghe deserves. Great work, always look forward to when you put up new content
RIP Emmanuel 🙏🏾 that toney jirov 12th round will never get old on legendary commentary alone. RIP brother nazim as well last of a dying breed of teachers
I really love the racing reference. I'm a huge Lewis Hamilton fan (hence my avatar) and know exactly what you were talking about when it comes to being the race leader versus chasing the leader. One of the things that makes Lewis Hamilton so great is his ability to lead races and continue to create distance between him and the car behind.
60 second psychology man. That's why it pays to have a good corner man, to protect you from yourself and to get you motivated. It's a balancing act for sure
The whispering was a reflection of him hearing his coaches voice as his voice in his own head ! Kinda brilliant “ don’t let him slip away... don’t let him slip away, don’t l e t him s.l i p awayyy!”
You finally brought this video back bro! I had been asking forever! Thanks for listening to the fans! This video inspires me before I workout to work harder
Hancho big fan bro. Love your videos and commentary. You’re a true fan of the sport and you know what you’re talking about. As we know a lot of times these trainers in the corner are like fathers to these guys. When you’re watching a fight it’s hard to understand how these guys are thinking in the heat of battle trying to win. Watching the great Julio Cesar Chavez last night and I came across one of his “stay sharp” fights vs Vernon Buchanan. This was back when JCC was pound for pound probably number 1. This kid had no chance but he working his ass off and he cracked Chavez a couple times. After the second round he plops down in his corner quite dejected but the way that his trainer speaks to him was really, well powerful would be what I would call it I It’s pretty inspiring considering the kid didn’t last much longer after that but still it made me think of you. I think showing trainers that care that much about their fighters it be great to see a compilation of these guys.
Hancho, your videos are awesome, as usual. Perphaps the best, or in the top 3 channels of boxing, because of... specially, the unbiased and wise opinion you have on the sport. That kind of knowledge, and giving the deserving recognition the "underground" media needs. Also humbleness, i don't forget, years ago, i asked you a single question about the music you were using at the time, not only you answered me, you also gave me everything i needed to get the piece i was asking you for. I'm not doing this to sell you to the public or for being biased towards you, it just for the people to know, a great channel, with a great creator. Saying this. You make a mistake with the example you made of the F1 race. Senna, who was very lucky in Monaco (just the race you were showing), was pretty unstable in the lead. Had to have the best car, by far, to win a race, instead of being the underdog. The perfect example you should have pictured, was Prost, wich, in Monaco 88, did exactly what were you talking about, shadowing the mistakes and desesperation of Senna. I'm not saying this in an anger rant, rather than as a F1 fan, i felt the Irony, and the missed ball in a bittersweet taste, i was watching this almost hopping that Prost would show, making it, the perfect reference to your words. About the video itself. Atlas and Stewart had the same thing in mind, in almost the same kind of fight (except Tyson wasn't even mentally in that Fight IMO). But you can see the anger in Stewart, and the drama in Atlas. I always thought Emmanuel didn't like Tyson at the time, didn't know why, but, that anger wasn't an act.
You should do one of what happens when boxers don't listen to their corners advice. Look at End of Round 9 instructions by Teddy to Moore when he fights Foreman. He tells him to throw a jab or slip it when Foreman throws his jab since he is trying to take him it out with one shot.
He knew. Mike may not have been in his right frame of mind and on his last legs, but he still had the power and defense to punch your lights out. Lennox had to finish him
Emmanuel Stewart didn’t want what happened against Rahman and McCall to happen against Tyson. That’s why he gave Lennox such a hard time in the corner.
