    Looks awesome! You even got some indirect assistance from both the ride film’s director, Douglas Trumbull, and Biff Tannen himself, Tom Wilson. You have got to show this to Universal Studios. At least, you should let Mr. Trumbull see the results of your restoration.

    Using multiple sources, do you believe you could recreate the original 1977 presentation of “Star Wars?”

      Do you believe that Universal would be willing to either use your efforts here, or ask you to help restore the original 70mm camera negatives for next year?

    How ever did you find a VHS tape of the BTTF Ride screen footage?

    • @Bradly105
      @Bradly105 3 месяца назад

      The pre vfx copy was found in 2015. The low quality final copy was a bootleg by a team member. The earliest upload of it that I could find was in 2006.

    obviously somewhere exists a high quality version of the original full screen. they did it for the blu ray but not full screen but in high res, so it obviously exists and they aren't giving it to us.

    • @Themaxleydog
      @Themaxleydog  6 лет назад

      detail preserving upscale can be mimicked by other filters and plugins i use. plus the effect is so minimal on vhs that using the other effects and plugins tends to work better anyway

    No amount of restoring can achieve that, that is impossible. Those are two different films.

    • @Themaxleydog
      @Themaxleydog  6 лет назад +2

      well it's 1 film at 2 stages from 3 sources , but yeah those are the 3 sources we got.

    • @latengocomoburro
      @latengocomoburro 6 лет назад

      *Themaxleydog* 1 Film at 2 stages? from three sources? If it is once film from three different sources then its three different films.

    • @Themaxleydog
      @Themaxleydog  6 лет назад

      nope just one film all said and done.
      what part are you having trouble understanding maybe i can help you?

    • @latengocomoburro
      @latengocomoburro 6 лет назад

      *Themaxleydog* I am having trouble understanding this whole thing. How you achieved it. You used one original film and played it using three different players? and then mixed the videos together and got the median? and what are the two stages you are talking about?

    • @Themaxleydog
      @Themaxleydog  6 лет назад +2

      well the original 70mm film isn't available to the public , anywhere
      the only footage of the film that is available are 3 lower quality copies of it , one is a vhs copy from an early stage in development that only has some vfx added to it , while two others are a vhs copy from it's final version along with a scan of the center of the film off of the dvd.
      using these several low quality sources you can reassemble them in premiere and after effects which can give a better image that is closer to how the 70mm would appear if anyone actually had it.
