      Depending on the age of your daughter the best advice I can give is rope drop to get the most of your day. Don't rope drop fantasyland as the lines move quickly. Go Space Mountain, then head to Matterhorn. After that hit Indy or Big Thunder. This gets the big E ticket rides done usually before noon and you have the rest of the day to sample the rest of the park.

    Did café Orleans last week. It's unbelievably good. We had both the 3 cheese Monte Christo and the meat. Both were savory. We couldn't book blue bayou but we are actually happy we didn't. It was simple and fun dining. Felt very relaxed here. Only problem...no bathroom. You have to use the park bathroom.

    One more pro for Storytellers Cafe: they offer a World of Color Dining Package during dinner, so you could pair that dinner buffet with some great views of World of Color. I’d give half a point extra for that alone.

    I have to say I’m surprised to see River Belle Terrace receiving the same ranking as Lamplight Lounge. RBT does have a yummy grilled cheese, but IMO everything on LL’s menu is delicious. Their brunch selections are outstanding. And yes, it’s pricey. But that’s what I expect when dining table service inside the parks- esp in such a special setting. River Belle feels to me like glorified quick service.
    Also, I’ve never had a bad meal at Carthay. Pricey, but again, that is expected. Wonderful service there, too!

    If you're staying at the DL Hotel and you're not going to the parks and you're not a huge party, they can often get you into Goofy's without an ADR. I had that happen in early August 2022. It was a late breakfast to early lunch, but we were just checking out and heading to the airport so it was perfect. I went to Story Tellers for dinner in December 2019 and they were awful for working with vegetarians and vegans. They had a tiny selection of vegetarian options and nothing vegan except literally grilled vegetables and that is all the poor vegan at the table next to us got. They were not willing to make her anything special or do anything else for her or us and yes I let them know on my ADR we were vegetarian. I won't go back because that was some awful service. I've thought about booking the Princess Brunch on a non-park day, because it just sounds really fun like the Sleeping Beauty Grand Tea they use to have at the Grand Floridian.

    We are planning our first trip back to DL for several years. We have been waiting for Toon Town to open back up. What I am surprised about is the lack of Planet Based options compared to DW. My daughter is vegetarian so she can also opt for meatless dishes but sometimes it is just easier to go plant based when you aren’t sure if they are using something meat related. Seems to me that in CA in particular they would be more use to vegans as it is a locals park.

    Which character breakfast is better, Story Teller's Cafe or Plaza Inn?

    • @jasondorado1137
      @jasondorado1137 Год назад +2

      Both are great, but I’d give the edge to Storyteller’s Cafe as the food is, as AJ said, more varied. Character meets are equally good at both locations.

      I personally love Plaza Inn, but the pink aesthetic and different characters there are the things that really do it for me! I like Storytellers, but the camping/outdoors aesthetic is just not my fav.

    As someone from New Orleans, blue bayou was so extremely disappointing that it’s almost offensive lol the tradition “New Orleans” dishes are not even close to the real thing. You would think Disney would do a better job at representing the food.

      I’m not from New Orleans but I have a few restaurants by me in Southern California that are way better and cheaper than Blue Bayou. They really want people to go there for the atmosphere, and I think they hope people don’t know what authentic gumbo tastes like.

    Can’t help to add that you definitely do not get huge plates of comfort food at the river Bell, actually, the plates are quite small and the food is very lackluster, we have been annual passholders for 20+ years now magic key holders, and this is probably the worst restaurant on property.

      Personally, I go to Disneyland just to eat! But I will say that I normally do quick service instead of sit downs meals. BUT I will say that Lamplight Lounge is always a must for my group - as well as Plaza Inn! Best fried chicken during lunch/dinner, and the character dining during breakfast is so cute.
