When we went to Blue Bayou several years ago, likely closer to when you went but maybe more like 2017, and I remember none of us loving our food. Plus, they brought my husband a nearly raw pork chop. It's so dark in there that we couldn't easily see that it was undercooked and he took a few bites before feeling definitively that it was off. He had to send it back.

I was fortunate enough to score a super quick waitlist reservation for my family at River Belle Terrace last yr. It was our first time eating there. Oh man, we loved it! Glad to see it at least cracked the top 6 here! 8:27
What about The Tropical Hideaway? This is my all time favorite place to eat in the park, especially at night. The ambiance at night is perfection. Plus the food is amazing. I love baked Mac N cheese, if you haven't tried it give Chil Fila a chance, way better than Tiana's which is a place I'd rank lower on the list. Great video!
I can tell from your rankings that you and I have VERY different tastes...Golden horseshoe last?? The fish & chips and chicken tenders are both good options. It also has indoor seating and entertainment (sometimes). Blue Bayou is number #1!
Definitely different tastes then. As Blue Bayou would be down there at 22 or 21 if not for the atmosphere. The chicken tenders I had at Golden Horseshoe were quite possibly some of the worst food I’ve had in the whole park. Could have been a bad day? Maybe. But any of their “basic theme park food”: hotdogs, burgers, chicken tenders, is pretty awful to me. The best burger is at the Craftsman Grill.
@@SoCalDisneyDad Yeah bad day for chicken tenders I hope but then again I haven't been to Disneyland since 2019 and back then they were the best chicken tenders I ever had along with the fries.

I really like Jolly Holiday because of the Chimney Sweep Cold Brew, and I got the ciabatta turkey this week, which was excellent (didn’t blow me away, but hit the spot and went well with the coffee.)
No Tropical Hideaway? (Glad I am not the only one saying this.) I did hear your earlier argument against it, but I find it on par with Red Wagon and Troubadour Tavern that you did list.

Anyways keep up the great content 😀
I don’t know I went to the blue Bayou on December 30 and I got the filet mignon Oscar style with the crab meat on top and it was incredibly delicious. I think people are just complaining because it’s expensive but food should not be ranked based on the price should be rent based on taste. Also, your opinion differs greatly on the plaza. It really is a good restaurant. The pot roast is amazing. The fried chicken is great. The portion sizes are huge I feel like again it’s just falling victim to complaining about prices. I would actually prefer at the Plaza in Café Orleans.
Definitely has nothing to do with price for me. My favorite restaurant, Docking Bay 7, is the priciest of the quick services and it didn’t affect my ranking. Bengal BBQ is also rather expensive because you need like 3-4 skewers to make a decent meal so that one is $19+ for one person. The Filet wasn’t on the menu when I went, but the only thing they seem to do right are the beef cuts. Not from experience as I haven’t ordered them, but just what other people have said. We ordered 3-4 different items from the menu and it was either terrible quality or too small of a portion. And the beef I ordered at Cafe Orleans was superior to the Plaza Inn Fried Chicken in every way. Every one has different tastes. If you enjoy those places, that’s perfectly fine. I just ask that you not act like my opinions aren’t valid because we had different experiences.
Hi Traver !!! I was wondering if you knew when the birria grilled cheese will be back on the Jolly Holiday menu ??? I heard it would make its return on January 10, but when I check the menu it doesn’t show…. Can I order it ?

So Cal Disney dad thanks for updates…1 question, I’m sure you know is Blue Bayou closed and not taking any reservations for end of February 2024? Thanks my man
Blue Bayou is closed right now, but it should be open again this weekend. It was only a 2 week closure. I'm not sure why reservations aren't available for February yet. I did see on Facebook where someone said that reservations for next week JUST dropped today. So it's possible that February will appear soon? Keep checking (not like hourly, but tomorrow maybe or the next day?)
@@cthulhu5101 My guess is they didn’t allow reservations in case the refurb took longer than expected. Better to not allow people to book in the first place than to cancel someone’s reservation and have angry guests. So they should start dropping soon if next week has opened up. It means they are definitely reopening on time.
It's quick service, but does not have mobile order. It's cafeteria style. You grab a tray, choose a line, tell them what you want and they serve it right there in front of you assembly line style, then you go to a register.
Love your rankings and knowledge. I have done character breakfast at plaza inn and the food is disappointing. Docking bay is our favorite too. Only one I would change is River Belle terrace. I have only had awful food there - the worst for the price. Agree that Blue Bayou is not worth it and it always surprises me when people recommend it.
I can't think of a single thing at River Belle that I've eaten that I've disliked. But I've only been twice, maybe three times. I had the Burnt Ends Grilled Cheese on one visit and the Pimento Mac 'n Cheese on another. I think I might have had a bite of Amy's Gumbo, or whatever it was and that was good, too. But with anything, sometimes you can just get a poorly prepared dish. I've had disappointing sandwiches with my Jolly Holiday Combo before where the crust was just too hard. Soup has always been good though.
@@SoCalDisneyDad Great to know! I'll have to try it again. U cud do a video where u suggest the best 3 things on each menu if u were to blindly book a restaurant or blindly sit down at a random quick service place and ppl can come to this video and see what to order
Personal opinion. 🤷🏻♂️ I did say it might make some waves. 😂 I actually gave it a chance this year, but the chicken tenders and fish and chips we had was legitimately the worst thing I’ve eaten at Disneyland in the last year. Possible it was a bad day for the cook? Yes. But it was the experience we got.
How well do these restaurants do gluten-free? I have to go gluten-free, and I have a tree nut allergy. I often find at parks and events that I tend to go hungry, because there’s very little or no food options for me.
The best thing you can do is download the Disneyland app, navigate to the map part of the app, switch it from Attractions to Dining and then click on the different restaurants around the park and view their menus. About 75% of the food locations have gluten free and tree nut free menus. Jolly Holiday alone has 9 items that qualify. You will need to order standby instead of using mobile order so that you can request both gluten-free and tree nut-free.
I have done it and loved it! I thought the food was really good. The French toast may have been the best French toast I’ve ever had! It was like coated in brown sugar or something amazing. It’s also cheapest character dining and inside the park which is really convenient!
I might give you refreshment corner, but I still think Pizza Planet is better. That’s how bad the food at Blue Bayou was when I ate there. But I also like Pizza Planet’s pasta, and that might be an unpopular opinion. Even refreshment corner, though, I’d gladly have a pretzel over anything at Blue Bayou. Is it possible it was a bad day at Blue Bayou? Sure, I suppose so, but at those prices I won’t be trying again any time soon. 🤷🏻♂️
They’re decent. I like the spicy corn dog over at DCA better. But you can get corn dogs anywhere. My opinion about Disney food is to NOT eat burgers, hotdogs, chicken tenders, corn dogs, pizza, etc.
@@SoCalDisneyDad I have a random question for you since you seem very familiar with the parks. Do you know if Boba Fett and Fennec Shand still come out in Galaxy's Edge? I'm going in April, and I would love to see them
Took a screenshot of the list for my July trip. I'm a bit of a food snob and will often bring my own wrap sandwiches into the wdw park for lunch, or eat at Epcot, but I'm going to try your top suggestions. Thanks for sorting out all the info for all of us.
I consider that to be more of a snack location than an actual quick service restaurant. I understand you could make a meal out of bao and lumpia, but that was the criteria I used last year, and I did not add any additional food locations except Cafe Daisy since it IS a new quick service since last year. This kept the rankings the most similar and gave a truer rankings movement (up or down) to see how my opinions changed from trying new things. I did highly consider adding it and Maurice’s at least into the mix, but ultimately decided against it.
Part of it is definitely the price. When I pay that much money for a single dish I expect fine dining. But it’s like you’re paying a premium for the view, and the food is just the same as any quick service. And that’s a huge let down.
My dude….I can understand not liking the food at stage coach or but it is better than Pizza Planet if every conceivable way. But to say Stage Coach, which architecturally is one of the most perfectly themed and beautifully sculpted restaurants at any Disney park is blasphemous. And I won’t stand for it. I mean come on man. A saloon themed restaurant complete with two levels and a pianist could not be any more perfect for Frontierland.
I didn’t say it wasn’t perfect for Frontierland. It absolutely is. Just not my favorite theming overall. But the review is definitely based on the food. Alien Pizza Planet pasta is legitimately decent. It’s middle of the road. Sure. Ranked 11 out of 23 is pretty middle of the road. Their pizza? Terrible. I did say if it were based on the pizza alone it would be duking it out for the bottom spot.
"A KID'S themed restaurant?" It's DISNEYLAND dude. Adults should not EVER even go to Disneyland without kids and certainly should not spend money on ANY food there....
No offense taken! Most of the kids food is at the bottom of my list (chicken tenders, pizza, corn dogs, nuggets, burgers). I know I said a grilled cheese sandwich was near the top of my list, but the real winner isn’t the sandwich, it’s the soup. And I legitimately did not think it could be all that great. It’s just a grilled cheese and tomato soup, right? But it was surprising. Bengal BBQ skewers are spicy, way too much for my kids, and packed with flavor. So even those are literally just meat on a stick, it’s so much better than it sounds.
Love how you get straight to the point and don't waste any time with lengthy intros or teasers that add no value!
I scrapped my intro because of some audio problems. But if you all find the intros to be unnecessary, I’ll definitely consider skipping them.

U cud do a video where u suggest the best 3 things on each menu if u were to blindly book a restaurant or blindly sit down at a random quick service place and ppl can come to this video and see what to order
I love this idea! I added it to my idea file and I’ll see if I can’t incorporate this or a variation of it.

I love The Golden Horseshoe! What the heck?!
Personal opinion. 🤷🏻♂️ I did say it might make some waves. 😂
I actually gave it a chance this year, but the chicken tenders and fish and chips we had was legitimately the worst thing I’ve eaten at Disneyland in the last year.
Possible it was a bad day for the cook? Yes. But it was the experience we got.
@@SoCalDisneyDad Hahah, all good. I don’t go as often as you, so they are probably very inconsistent.
Literally just watched this video to see where Rancho was ranked
@@SoCalDisneyDad - thank you!!!
You have to try the character breakfast at plaza inn, would love a video of this experience please, help with our planning, 👍
It’s something I want to consider doing this year!
@@SoCalDisneyDad Great, we would definitely watch 😁👍
I have done it and loved it! I thought the food was really good. The French toast may have been the best French toast I’ve ever had! It was like coated in brown sugar or something amazing. It’s also cheapest character dining and inside the park which is really convenient!
@@kelseyroberts4222 The best French Toast I’ve ever had is at Aulani. So now you have me curious how they measure up. 😂
@@kelseyroberts4222 Thanks for this, we have it on our list of things to try 👍
Can you please create a worst to best video for DCA? 🙏🙏🙏
It’s on my list to film during my next visit (Tuesday)! I think it’ll be out Monday the 22nd
I'm sorry. Blue Bayou on it's worst day is better that Alien Pizza Planet and Refreshment Corner. There is no comparison.
I haven't been yet, but all I hear are people raving about Disneyland's corndogs. But you don't think they're that good?
They’re decent. I like the spicy corn dog over at DCA better.
But you can get corn dogs anywhere.
My opinion about Disney food is to NOT eat burgers, hotdogs, chicken tenders, corn dogs, pizza, etc.
@@SoCalDisneyDad I have a random question for you since you seem very familiar with the parks. Do you know if Boba Fett and Fennec Shand still come out in Galaxy's Edge? I'm going in April, and I would love to see them
Plaza Inn is our favorite!❤
Yes on Blue Bayou!! Its not good! I paid nearly 200 bucks for fish that taste like a cinnamon. WTF. Its a no from me and I'm glad someone agrees!
Cafe Orleans is my favorite. I liked 2-4. I've had Docking Bay and am not impressed. The rondo wraps are fantastic.
Cafe Orleans is fantastic!
Wow I never knew there were so many restaurants there
Took a screenshot of the list for my July trip. I'm a bit of a food snob and will often bring my own wrap sandwiches into the wdw park for lunch, or eat at Epcot, but I'm going to try your top suggestions. Thanks for sorting out all the info for all of us.
No Tropical Hideaway?
I consider that to be more of a snack location than an actual quick service restaurant. I understand you could make a meal out of bao and lumpia, but that was the criteria I used last year, and I did not add any additional food locations except Cafe Daisy since it IS a new quick service since last year.
This kept the rankings the most similar and gave a truer rankings movement (up or down) to see how my opinions changed from trying new things.
I did highly consider adding it and Maurice’s at least into the mix, but ultimately decided against it.
Couldnt disagree more. I do love the plant based food @ dock 7,but red wagon is always on my to do list for Disneyland
Dockingbay 7s pasta was best!
you are sleeping on ronto roasters plant plant-based sandwich - it is the best food in the park
Blue Bayou was terrible this year. Waste of $300 on our visit.
Part of it is definitely the price. When I pay that much money for a single dish I expect fine dining. But it’s like you’re paying a premium for the view, and the food is just the same as any quick service. And that’s a huge let down.
Ranchodel zocolo is terrible. They reused their portions like 50 percent.
I love these videos, dont trust your rating scales though 😂
Wow! So off the mark…on just about everything, especially Blue Bayou.
Everyone has different tastes (and opinions). I am curious, though, what you would rank in the top 3 spots?
"A KID'S themed restaurant?" It's DISNEYLAND dude. Adults should not EVER even go to Disneyland without kids and certainly should not spend money on ANY food there....
@@steveludwig4200 Oh so you’re one of THOSE. Dude, I’ll do you a favor and show you the door right now. My channel isn’t for you.
#1. EVERY restaurant in Disney is the worst.
I don't understand people who say this. You mustn't have been to many theme parks if you think Disney food is bad.
Can’t stand the Blue Bayou.
No disrespect, as I know taste is subjective but take this review with a grain of salt. Seems his favorites slide more toward a child’s palette.
I’m so sad that with Lion King closing Troubador Tavern is also appearing to be closed all the time.
