I'm not scared of anyone and I am extremely introverted. It's just way too much hassle and energy expense for the sort of reward I don't really desire. I barely want to talk to the people I know well, much less complete strangers. At best there will be confusion because I'm socially weird, and at worst I will inadvertently insult the other person somethow. Nah. Not worth the hassle.

Professional baker here. As I was taught, the difference between a crepe and a galette is that crepes usually have a sweet filling (though Americans like to put savoury in it and call it a crepe, crepes usually come with powdered sugar on top, or they're filled with ingredients like caramel, chocolate, and fruit, making them a classic French dessert.) and galettes are savoury and they can come with a small hole in the middle where there's a fried egg over melted cheese. Classic versions have ham and cheese. Yes, galettes are usually made with buckwheat flour, (but not always) but that's because they have savoury fillings. The buckwheat gives it a dark, nutty flavour that pairs well with meat and cheese. But that's just what I was taught and these days, culinary rules are just a suggestion. :)

Agree! La Creperie de Paris is AMAZING!

    • @narii87
      @narii87 4 месяца назад

You're right! The word galette is used to differentiate savory buckwheat "crepes" and sweet ones. It can refer to the buckwheat element exclusively though, depending on the context. If I say (in french): "I'll have a banana and nutella Galette", the waiter/waitress will understand that I'm asking for a Buckwheat "crepe". Relatively rare occurence, but possible.

I have to stand up for Teppan Edo. We have a very large family and we booked lunch here in the middle of a hot day at Epcot. We had an entire table all to ourselves and my kids loved the food!!! Japanese food and sushi is always their favorite food to eat anywhere. They also really enjoyed the show! It was such an enjoyable break in our day and we all left super full! We didn’t need to eat the rest of the day. My kids still talk about it fondly. It was one of their favorite Disney experiences. 😊

When I was there (also with a big group of relatives) our waitress sang in the middle of her performance/cooking! Being japanese, her English was a bit hard to understand, but she had such a beautiful voice. And it was such an unexpected surprise. She was making a snowman out of rice and suddenly started singing “do you want to build a snowman?” So cute, and you’d only see that in a Disney restaurant😊

In my opinion, Takumi-Tei is the single best restaurant in all of WDW, let alone Epcot. The food, the service, and ambiance are all top notch. And while the price is high, it is fair for the caliber of the experience. Though I completely understand that the price, the duration, the adults only policy, and/or the relatively adventurous menu could well disqualify it for many visitors.
If you love Japanese food and/or fine dining, and can afford to spend $250 and 4 hours of an Epcot visit on a meal, do not miss this experience!

I have had only two meals that failed to meet my expectations. 1) Le Cellier Restaurant - the service was poor (rude) and the food (I had a steak) was not prepared properly - over cooked. I did like the cheese soup. 2) Coral Reef - the service was rushed and the food was just okay. I accept that my experience at Le Cellier may have been a one-off, but I just can't go back again, which makes more room for everyone else. For the most part - the other places we have eaten live up to expectation. Great video as always.

We had the same poor experience at Le Cellier. The steak was cooked at right temp (MedRare) but somehow it was dry and flavorless. This was sson after they reopened from Covid and I guessed that the steaks were old, frozen?? For the price I just can't see us ever returning.

I love Garden Grill, too and we had a delicious meal there and the characters were great. However, my hubby and I must be getting a bit old because when we left, we felt a little like we had just stepped off a boat. I think- as crazy as this sounds- we were a little off from the movement of the restaurant. Granted- it barely spins, but we both felt a little funny afterward. However, if you're not wacky like us- you'll love it. We also enjoyed riding the "Living with the Land" ride to see where the food came from. Looking forward to trying other recommendations on this list soon when we travel with a big group that includes kiddos and grandparents. Thanks for the tips!

My family came to visit over Christmas (I’m a cast member) and we went to Le Cellier for that nice “splurge” dinner. The parks were insanely busy in December so the wait for our table and food, much like the wait for everything else in the parks, was on the longer side. However… oh my goodness gracious, was the meal worth the wait. Everything from the bread and appetizers to the wine was delicious, and the steak was some of the best we’ve ever had. And it’s true, the staff really are as wonderful as you would expect the staff at a fine Canadian restaurant to be. The only negative (aside from the wait) was that we didn’t leave room for dessert and had to pass on the maple crème brulee😂 all in all, I’m thrilled to see it at the top of the list. 10/10 would recommend!

Is a certain food critic from Ratatouille part of the DFB team lol? My wife and I love the advise that you give (the parking app tip has help us TONS on our trip), but I do believe that Coral Reef deserves a bit higher of a rating - we go there on every trip that we take and the seafood is first class, and the deserts are out of this world. Plus is so awesome to eat tank side and imagine Corey Matthews in there trying to win back Topanga or Uncle Jesse combing his hair underwater. To be fair, their menu is rather small for a seafood restaurant (some lobsters or crab legs would be awesome!), but it is an outstanding restaurant. To me, Space 220 is worth experiencing once because of the immersive setting for sure. We went back in June 2022, and it was fun to experience. I’m not sure I’ll go back anytime soon because I would like to experience a different restaurant next time we go, but I say it’s worth doing to say you got to do it! The food was honestly good to me too, but it is still very expensive.
I haven’t eaten at San Angel but have been in that area and it looks awesome, I would say do both restaurants! I want to eat here when we go in December. Enjoy your trip!

lotus blossom cafe was my favorite before covid. the best thing was the noodles with spicy Mongolian beef in a chinese carryout container. it was on the menu for years but that ended when covid started.
it was delicious perfectly greasy noodles (in the best way) with spicy tender beef. of course, disney never brought them back...
typical.... get rid of the one quick food every local loved!!!
top 3 restaurants as a local imo - la hacienda de san angel (sit down on the water), les chefs de france (the french bistro), and le cellier steakhouse.
fyi the fish and chips in england are the best on disney property and you pay half the price than say raglan in disney springs for the same portion size.

Honestly, when we go to Epcot (usually when the food and wine festival is on) we don't really have a need to go to restaurants because the food booths, we set aside a specific budget for the festival and then we just go hit most of them, keeps us fed, it allow us to go to rides without feeling the need to puke, and doesn't feel like it takes away time from the park because the festival itself is an experience. But still good that there are options for restaurants.

What budget would you say is reasonable for the day at food booths? My first time going in May (from the U.K.) and I’m curious!

@@Stale_Cupcakesa strategy I use at the festival is they have wristband gift cards their I put $100 on it or whatever budget you want and use it for the the booths . When I run out of money on. That card I stop haha.

Is it possible to go to some of these sit-down restaurants for just a drink and app? Like if we wanted to have drinks at San Angel Inn, but didn't want to have a full meal. Do we need reservations for that or could we just walk up?

So I will say this it does depend on when you go this place is normally booked with the Mexican pavilion there is a tequila bar with apps I would go there..there are many other places that you can sit at the bar and order full menus or apps that don't need reservations.

Not every restaurant has to have options for younger ones. Not fair to list it as a con. Some of us enjoy the chance to eat without screeching kids.

i've gotten to eat at shiki sai, twice.
it was the best food i've had in epcot. i would put it in the top 5 restaurants on property (and yes, that includes some of great restaurants at swan & dolphin).
i would definitely not take kids there.
le cellier is among the best restaurants on property - definitely the best steak on property. i was so surprised that it was better than yachtsman and shula's.

LOL - when I saw the title of this video, I knew garden grill and me cellier would be in the top 10 but AJ just went for with the 1 & 2 spots. I love Le Cellier but I would never rank it #1. It’s a steak house. It’s good, great even, but I can have an equally good steak within ah hour drive of my home!

I can’t you rated teppan edo so low and chefs de France so high. Teppan Edo is excellent food, fun and not every town has teppanyaki. This is a can’t miss for my family. Whereas Chefs de France took 3 hours! For food that was not great. Took an hour to get a drink. I would never go back there again. Very authentic French experience with the bad service included.
