This is my first How to video. Many more to come ! ;)
Thanks
Steeven
Easiest shortest video I've ever seen how to program the remote for my car on a 2003 Honda Civic thanks bro God bless
I usually do not put comments on RUclips but your video is so simple and so straightforward I couldn't resist to tell you: thank you!!!
The best key fob programming video on RUclips. Thank you so much 🙏
TY for doing this & helping others like us! God bless you for it.
This works great. For anyone who wants to program a used remote from another Civic (of the same generation should work but you can call Honda to confirm) you should be able to do it just fine. I programmed a remote from an old 2002 Civic for my 2003 Civic.
Oh wow I didn't know I can do that, thanks bro, this guy that did this video should be come a RUclipsr he did really good on this video and I read comment and seam like everyone like it too. Thanks for ur comment I got a couple Honda civic and accord too I'm gonna try that ❤ I sales car for 30somes years never new about it. 👍🏽.
Short and sweet, how every instructional video should be. Thanks!
A well-done video. Succinct, clear and to the point. Very useful.
EASY AND TO THE POINT! Thank you it worked!!! :)
omg thank you, my remote stopped working a few days ago and i was able to fix it thanks to you!
Perfect. Worked perfectly for me thanks!
Thank-you it now works. A locksmith near CEX in Enniskillen estimated it would cost £120 to fix it, I wonder could that be just business? or was it attempted robbery?
Thanks, my fob stopped working Sunday even with a new battery. I'll give this a try tomorrow.
Worked liked a charm. Thanks for sharing man!
Worked for me brother. Appreciate it.
Man thank you very much. It took me less than 30 sec. The best way. I seriously thought it have to a some sort of hideous thing but it was easy lol
Thanks for suggestion on using original key and not duplicate. After I switched keys it worked!
Thanks a lot so easy to follow your video instructions and it works..
Thank you very much worked to perfection
Yes of course ! It works for all Civic from 2001 to 2005 all models that came with electric door lock
Steeven Gagné my drivers door won't lock with the remote
Geovanni Dominguez If other doors are locking, probably a defective actuator ;)
honda accord keyless program
Geovanni, Im having the same problem. where you able to fix it?
Very clear and easy way, thanks bro.
Thank you so much! God bless you!!
Hey I have a 2003 honda civic the car key remote keep beeping when I took out the battery an insert it back in it wont open or closed my car will this tutorial work for me ?
If your car has a KARR security system (look for blue sticker on driver window) this may not work. Call KARR and give them your vin number so they can check. New remotes are around $60
Even a 68-year-old grandmother can do it, too, thanks!
It's very helpful thank you for posting
Hi there.
Super tutorial.
Do you know, what's the problem with my remote?
I tried it like you have shown in the video.
3 Times Key turn on & press lock, then a fourth one and it is possible to press lock and unlock (Lights are blinking), but only for ~20 Seconds. Then it's like I never programmed it.
BTW: It's a 2003 Honda Civic vii Hatchback 66kw.
@@yellow_the_squirrel same problem, did u figure it out
@@dillonwhite4444 I didn't, sorry. :/
Hope U can fix it.
Awesome thx again worked for my 03
you're a WINNER!!
Hi there
Tried this today
Unfortunately it only unlocked the car once then the old issue arose again.
And ideas?
Any ideas on how to disarm the factory alarm without removing fuse? Thank you
Thanks buddy! You rock!
hey thanks for the video bro
Thank you. I tried it and it worked.
I think some after market engine immobilized security system thing is preventing this from working for me
Thank you , it works for me
Yes! Got it on the first try!!😊😊
Thank you it worked on mu honda civic xl 2008.
Does the door have to be closed to be able to program it ? I tried and didn’t work but i remembered I had the door open thanks!
Are you programming the original key? I purchased a 2002 Honda CR-V in an Auto Auction, and this SUV comes with the spare key. I could not program the remote
YASSSSSS IT WORKED FOR ME !!
Yoo thank you so much!!!!
Doesnt work for me even though it cycles the lock and all... my remote might have gotten wet when I forgot it on the door while it was raining. Maybe it cant store the key information?
It worked! Thank you bro
That's great except for one little thing...
It only locks and unlocks the passenger door...NOT the driver's door.
THANK YOU
Thank you so much! It worked
Hi, I still have the original key fob working but I just want an extra one, will this process of programing a new key fob does not disable the original key fob?
Do I also have to program the original key fob along with the new one although it's still working?
Thanks very simple .
I changed the battery of our Honda Civic 2001 which I did not programmed but then it can lock , unlock and and activate the alarm. My question is how come another FOB can be used in my car?
I did to many time but key fob don''t work not thing,I buy key fob from ebay ,the of the car accident, but the key fob still good,i'm
very disappointed ,,,,,,,
So frustrating. I was able to program remote. BUT it's ONLY locking and unlocking the driver door vs all 4 doors. Also, when I lock the doors, I open it to see if the alarm goes off and it does not go off whatsoever. Basically it just locks and unlocks the car as a convenience without any security of alarm going off. Any suggestions?
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾Nice man! Thanks ⭐️
Hi, I have an Honda Civic 2005 and tried this but didn’t work. However, before my attempt I noticed that every time I pressed remote lock/unlock buttons the cars speedometer/dashboard flashes. Any advice why I get this? Thanks in advance!
My original key fob no longer works with a new battery even, this reprogramming won't work with Amazon copies of the original fob for my Civic 2002 EX? Will they? Or do I have to buy from the dealer?
i got a old car 2003 civic and there is a sticker which says its a remote starter installed in it and there is antenna inside car it might have remote starter but i don't have a remote so which one i will buy pls help me? and the antenna is working too there is a light which is on pls help me
Does't work for my 2002 Civic Si. The current working remote will not lock the car if the key is in the ignition, as the one in the video does.
Any idea how many cycles one could have to do before programming will find the right combo? One key fob works but not the other, and I've swapped batteries so that's not the issue.
Christopher Lamb if you want to program two at the same time, just press lock on each remote instead on only one remote ;)
I did that as your video and others state doing but it does not sound the horn nor does it lock the drivers side.
Will this work with a generic remote?
o van Make it work on my honda civic 2003
270k MILES! 🔥
Thank you so much
Does this work for a 2005 Honda Civic ex special edition ?
Of course !
AM AUTO parts---you can get after market door actuators
where do i get the remote control?
Thanks
I have tried this method and it does not work, also a local mechanic has tried it and it did not work. So I think it’s a computer bug. I don’t have original key fob. Is there a way of resetting the the car computer or if there is any other methods please let me know thanks.
did you ever find solution
Can you program 2 remotes? Or will the second program delete the first one?
Yes you can just do the sequence with two remote pressing lock button on each remote, one at the time, during the sequence.
@@steeventide I did and both my new remotes work now. Awesome. Along the remotes I got they printed a little sticker that has a website with ask the programming information for just about every car on it. Its www.RemotesRemotes.com you can go on there and select any vehicle and it will tell you how to program the new units. Thanks for this video tho. Its always easier to see it than ready it.
I tried this then car doesnt start and original key does not central lock now.
What could be the cause / problem. 😮😮
Please help 😢😢
Thanks 🙏🙏🙊🙉🙈
Works than stops after. I tried to do lock twice but it just stops working and doesn't even unlock the passenger it'll lock it tho
thank you very very much 👍👍👍👍👍
Hi, I had 2 Honda stock remotes and the 2nd one finally died on me. I thought it was the battery however bought a new one and the light indicator isn't on. So, I believe it's dead since I've had the car since 2004. I'm looking for a replacement keyless remote, does it have to be the Honda stock? Can I use a universal keyless remote? I saw one online from China market for $10 or less.
Nope. It has to be an original Honda remote for a 2001 to 2005 Civic only. Unless, it will never work.
Steeven Gagné Thanks a lot! Guess, I'll have to shop around for a good price. That's really helpful. Also, good to know your car is at 400,000 km. I'm at 207,000 km and I'll be driving it till it dies one me. It's my baby and first car :)
By today, I've just reached 293,000 km, yup my odometer is in kilometers. But I keep my civic in a showroom condition and it still drives as a new. Those are very good cars that can reach very high mileage ! If you need anything else, please ask :)
Very easy
I have an honda civic 2005 ex special edition, the previous owner installed and avital car alarm, it seems to not been working so I'll try this key fob, is it going to work?
Not with an aftermarket alarm, will only to lock/unlock the car.
Can you have more then one FOB or is it only 1. If you can have more then 1 what is the trick to get the second one working
thanks
If I press the lock button twice will it trigger the horn like a usual remote key ?
It should !
Can I use an Accord remote for a Civic? Both are same year model. What about acura remote for a civic?
Wilmer Gonzalez sadly not, you have to have a civic remote.
If I don't have the blinking light on the FOB, and I already changed the battery in it, I just need a new FOB right?
I do think so.
do you need any module to be installed or any wiring before programing ?
i had to install a module to my Honda civic 2002 LX, apparently they do not come with it only the EX models as far as I know
Do you already have a system installed in the car
Does it work for a Honda Civic 2002 dx ? My car has manual windows
When I turn the key over to the 2 position my doors automatically lock and it wont work, I have a 2003 honda civic LX sedan
Mine too... Did you figure it out?
@Aldoobie No I havent figured it out yet been trying for a week I'm not sure, if you figure it out or if I figure it out we will let each other know?
@@harlywhitaker1409 On mine, it ONLY locks and unlocks the driver side door vs all 4 doors. Also, when I do lock it, I try to open the door or slam it the trunk to actually set the alarm off and it also doesn't. I have an alarm but the key ring part broke so I was just looking to get another fob to attach it to the ring. But I'm pretty much done trying with this fob. I will return it to Amazon. I'll just buy another "Chapman" remote and switch the guts out. Good luck to you as well.
@@harlywhitaker1409 oh BTW... Mine did what you described too. Just do it fast the programming. Try to do it within the 5 seconds and then see what happens. Keep me posted what happens, I'm curious.
from where u get the remote?
My key doesn't work. It's a new key as well. I don't know if its my car
Your key or your remote ? If its a brand new key, it has to be programmed with the car to start it.
@@steeventide I mean I've tried to program it but it just doesn't work. Same instructions but it doesn't do anything. Either my new fob is faulty or something is electronically wrong with my car
Does anyone know where the relay is for the keyless feature? Programming isn’t working (yes, there is a new battery and even tried a new remote), I’m thinking about trying the relay next. Any ideas on where it is?
If you program a remote, can you repeat the same steps afterwards to program a second remote? And if you do program the 2nd remote will it still let the first remote to continue working? Or will the new program on the new fob not sure the first fob to work any longer?
You have to program both at the same time, in the process you have to press lock on the first remote, then the second, then turn ignition off and cycle untill the programmation is complete as explained in the video.
@@steeventide so you turn ignition on, couch lock on both remotes, turn off, turn on and press lock on both remotes, turn off, and do that 4 times?
I thought you had to do that 4 times to 1 remote and then repeat to the second. But you're saying to do the 4 step process at the same time on all remotes then right? Thanks for the tip. Appreciate it.
@@babayega_ exactly
I did it exactly as instructed but it still doesn’t work. I have a 2005 Honda Civic Lx and it’s the same key you have
I replace the battery on my 2003 Honda Civic, but the remote is not on when I press the lock button (red light is not on). What should I do? Do I need to buy a new remote?
Blue Mountain I would first replace the battery again just for sure ;)
how and where did you get the blue backlights for your cluster?
Jared It was standard equipment on my Sport Model. This cluster will not work on a civic without led backlighting without wiring modification.
hey can you tell me were you got the carbon fiber piece around your stereo
You can use a vynil wrap for that and a heat gun would help
can you buy a control on ebay and program it in the same way? Thank you
Thx u sir👍
Would this allow u to start and drive your car with the new key fob? Or just open and lock doors
Only lock and unlock doors. It will not program a new key.
@@steeventide what if I use the same key just a new fob
Does this trick help if my immobilizer key light is also flashing and the car won't start?
(Fuses are fine, battery is brand new)
To me sounds like an issue with your key itself. The key has a transponder in it and the car won't turn over unless it can communicate with it. If you by any chance got a key copy made that would probably be why it isn't working.
@@surrealmemes3518 Thank You!
Sadly I had to swap the engine as the original one became useless, it actually ran really nice after that for about 300kms with 5-6 than out of nowhere it wouldn't start anymore and the central lock joined in on the strike as well, so non of my to keys work now.
Sadly I don't have any capable scan tool to reprogram it with.
Anyhow I guess I'll have to have it delivered to a Honda service and drop of a large sum with it. :/
Does this also automatically program the panic button?
Nmarryat24 of course it does
What if your not sure if your car has factory alarm or not ?
Figured this out?
Is it work for universal remote from ebay? i bought a civic last couple months. it didn't come with remote, so i'm looking for one.
Thornthanut Pakdeepinyo did this end up working?
Does it work with my honda civic type r 2006?
I been waiting got mines yesterday. and it is not working.
thanks bro thanks.
