Holy moly I think this is my leak! Since I had oil leaking down the front as well as the back I didn't think this could be it until you *showed* this leak happening and suddenly it all made sense. Thank you!
Poor air intake boot, and the battery is def in backwards 😂. I been havin oil all over my transmission for a while now thinking it was my rear main seal n ignoring it n topping off my civic. Just replaced fuel injector o-rings, n noticed a considerable seepage coming from my vtec solenoid. I think mine is from on top not the same spot as this one. My 5 speed is pushin 370k miles lol. You were talking about the battery and it shorting out because of the hood prop I literally had that happen and lost all power to my car while driving because it flew into that minded the same thing. Now I have to tuck it behind the wires just to have my hood prop not hit it.😭💀
I replaced the gasket now it’s stuck in limp mode won’t rev past 4k rpm, could this be the metal rod on the inside. No leaks, oil is at level. Could this be the oil pressure sensor ? As I get a p2647 code, high oil pressure rocker arm when Vtec is off
@jackalsmusic9202 without knowing the specifics of those individual components of they're working or not, can be one 2 components associated with the assembly. If you're diagnosing this, check the pressure switch activation in live data when solenoid is commanded. If you're not diagnosing, replace the assembly and recheck for codes
I have a 2004 Honda Civic EX and I got the code PO507 and I got the replacement part and wanted to change it myself but when I went to remove the airbox, I took the 3 bolts off and the box won't budge. I can slide the hose off and unclipped the connecter, but the box feels like its bolted down from underneath. Any ideas on how to get the box up and out?
@@partsshooter I noticed that on another youtube video the box was removed and the guy loosened a screw from a metal band below the box that goes around the carburetor and then he lifter the box up and out. Maybe my car had a different air box set up and they used the metal bands and changed back and didn't take the band off? I didn't get a chance today to see if I can see if my car has that band. I thought something has to be holding down that box, because it felt like the middle was being held down without the three bolts. I'll post tomorrow if that works.
@sawblade60 I was referring to the box by the front passenger side. I work on alot of stuff and can't remember everything. But everything you need to remove you can simply wiggle I take side to side and reveal the hold down bolt. Not hard
The video provided this answer you're seeking in regards to solenoid state being naturally off or no. There's no power while car is idled. Video didn't answer your second half. The answer is, if your solenoid is stuck on, engine will stall or run as if there's a bad vacuum leak if it manages to run

Also made sure it's not the head gasket plug next to the EGR Valve

@@sawblade60 use wd40 and lube the grommets underneath then lift up. Will come off easy

@10:10 looks exactly like that hairline fracture/split in the gasket that you were talkin about.
right before he pulls out the gasket he makes the split with his tool
