You may have gotten the black and grey mixed up in the vid but I have a 2001 civic coupe and the grey does not work

Black: older

I bought some what I thought to be new generation ones but I ended up getting some gray ones, they still connect but they won’t unlock or lock my vehicle, do you think if I get the black ones they’ll be able to unlock my vehicle? I have a 2004 Honda Civic LX

If I understood your comment correctly, then yes. That is what it sounds like. The car will not sync with the wrong generation.
