With an electric pump I don’t see the point in needing a thermostat anymore. Want to warm up pump is off and when it gets to temp up pump comes on.

I am kinda, still figuring it out. It’s interesting now the warmer weather is coming in. I’m not getting consistent engine temperature based on outside temperatures. I’m honing in what the difference is.

@@RocketGarageService yeah I’m thinking of trying out one on my Cleveland. Trying to learn about them. Can see advantages for sure with them.

You still need to have water bypassing and circulating through the engine to prevent big hot spots.

It would be better to cut out the center of the old thermostat and leave the outer ring to support the gasket.

I am starting to think about it. I went driving for about an hour yesterday. Temps were a little high. But I adjusted my coolant fan "on temperature" on high mode. I think that is more issue. I am running E85 so I wanted my engine temperatures higher to help get rid of the E85 in my oil. My dipstick started getting little rust spots. But I also have needed a PVC catch can vs the previously installed vent style catch can

im guessing moving it helps get rid of the air pocket that always seems to happen with the ls engine

    Leave out your thermostat

Perfect time for this comment!!! I am going to try removing the thermostat. In the heat of the summer. My temps are creeping on the highways (80 mph, pulling about 3200 rpms). I got up to 220 degree after about 30 mins on the highway. I really want to do a drag and drive. But right now, I could not. I want this car to be able to be driven anytime, anywhere. The only thing I want to hold me back is buying the fuel.
