It’s the reduction in drag that the engine must endure that gives you more power ! I have installed a Bosch electric water pump on my 2021 WR250F and removed the impeller and driveshaft gear . It works .

Personally, I think electric water pumps would be a great thing for a cheap/easy fix for older bikes that have a corroded housing, but outside of that they probably don't have that big of a place

Electric for all pumps! Why run it off the motor? Cars have been doing this for years for efficiency.
